Excellent review as ever, you just get it where others don't and dismiss it. One of my favorite crass songs and has been for 40 years is "I ain't thick it's just a trick " which you might find a real treat, thanks Kev

@@TheAdventuresofTNT Carol is a tremendous songwriter/pianist in her own right..... Very different from Crass / Ignorant...... incredible lyrics, tremendous melodies....
You hit it on the head - when you hear CRASS or the Dead Kennedys and then you hear Blink 182 and there is no question where punk is.
50 year old punk here, I grew up on this great reaction

Yes, love Crass and love the fact that you are willing to react to Crass when not many will 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Crass and Minor Threat are my FAVOURITE hardcore political punkrock band's with real substance and integrity who never betrayed their Morales for cash or fame ( truly punkrock to the core)
I explained it kinda badly in the msg on patreon lol In OG crass there were 3 singers Steve ignorant Joy De vivre Eve libertine (also featured in the latter half of "bloody revolutions" which you reacted to) This song is from the album "penis envy" in which eve libertine was the lead vocalist for all the songs except for "health surface" which Joy de vivre was the lead vocals Steve wasn't featured at all in this album In this live show it had carol hodge replacing eve libertine essentially
This is from Crass' LP Penis Envy - The guys didn't sing any of the vocals. All the lyrics were song by the CRass women. Brilliant LP.
The whole gig was an absolute head fck. I walked into the venue as a 51 year old and left as a teen again. Carol Hodge is an amazing performer in her own right. I was privileged to see her and photograph her at one of her gigs in London. Not to mention, she's a lovely person. LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY
Outstanding reaction and channel ! Out of all the punk reactions I've seen( which there isn't all that many of...)You proceed to be the only guy that gets it, and I'm sure you're not reacting to punk for the views! You probably get less with punk than anything ,but I'm really glad you're reacting to it.

It's really cool to see someone who isn't an angry/confused teenager react to CRASS/PUNKROCK for the first time and get it!!! Real PUNKROCK and not just dismiss it as angry noise!!! Because it's way more than that it's ANGRY AND IT'S ON POINT INFORMATIVE/RELEVANT And REAL

More CRASS! And yes, the lyrics make them amazing.
I was at the last supper... Saw original crass back in 81. Both equally best gigs I've ever witnessed. (A)
I saw both of steve ignorants last supper shows here in Los Angelos and Carol Hodge was amazing.
Damn I love that you do Crass. My all time favorite song of theirs are "Where's next Columbus?", same singer as this. Check it out:)
Honestly m8 this is my favourite KZread reaction. Your enthusiasm for the music that changed my life as a young man blows me away. Ta

I was at the Manchester gig on this tour. The band were on fire, one of my top 10 gigs ever
Nailed it! So f^cking amazing and rare the original sound doesn't lack for the change. Wow!
Back before there was Internet I had to hunt down these albums
YES!! Long live Punk! Eat the rich. Peace, love, food for everyone!
The Last Supper was the name of the show, the last time ever that Steve would perform Crass songs. This song Systematic Death is originally from the third Crass album Penis Envy. There it is sung by Eve Libertine and she's backed by the original band.

But it wasn't Crass just Liar Ignorant.
Hell yeah, CRASS are so good, and so important! their music was/is ages before of it's time, so creative and artistic, yet never ever comprimising. been listening to them for more than 20 years now, and still seeing them as one of the best ever. Cheers!
punk is an attitude that is timeless. It's always been with us and it will never leave us. (A) it's up to you xx
I just discovered your channel out of nowhere. Mate, I really love Crass, ans Carol. But also, the guitar player is Graham "Gizz" Butt. You need to check is old work with The English Dogs, The Desecrators and The Destructors. The drummer is Spike T Smith, an incredibly talented drummer. Anyways, Carol is THE girl and Crass always delivers. This complete show is a delight, probably the best live punk show ever.
Crass - Mother Earth (in "Steve Ignorant - The Last Supper (Crass)" time: 12:05) this is Perfect. Please listen to these super crazy sounds. This bass line, this drums (like a war march), this guitar is all about tricks and crazy sounds.
I love how excited you get man!! you liking this is a good sign! the lyrics are so good in their music. people need to read along a few times until you know the song the. it just gets better and better
If you haven't already....Bad Brains - Banned In D.C..
this is SO good, I am shocked. crass has been stuck on me like shit on a shoe ever since I stepped into them when I was a snotty little punker in the mid 90s. I haven't kept up with them in a very long time, and haven't seen anything Steve and co have been up to since the 80s, other than reading about how the Crass Dial House was still being run by innkeeper Penny Rimbaud. Ive been listening to them a bit here and there since spotify, (and LOT of rudimentary peni and flux of pink indians) and I'm shocked every time I sporadically hear them because of the level of production and orchestration in crass' music. back when I was 15, i got that crass was more of an organism than a band, but I didn't really 'get' it until now. its an occupying armed force. I realized the same thing about nine inch nails recently because of utube,, but here, even with new members this sounds exactly as real and ferocious as it should. it conveys the force you hear on the records. few bands can pull that off. I saw a live video about a year ago of the current incarnation of the Dead Kennedys and it was such a joke. just dads trotting out the old family photos with some clown trying to imitate their cranky ex-friend on vocals. it was sad,, and so I was not expecting this of crass. but shit,, and now I am an Instant fan of Carol Hodge. fkng mind blowing. and Steve just lurking in the back there like orson welles' plumber. I need to look more into the organizational genius of Steve, right after I click on link to Carol's channel,, thx TNT! great times as always on ur chan!!

I always hugely enjoy your reviews of Crass, so heartwarming to see an American (and many Brits too) who simply 'get it' and appreciate it, Thank You. If you enjoyed the vocals on this (great as they are) i implore you to check out the original with lyrics from the 80's with Crass' previous long-term vocalist.
Well done,Mr TNT.Crass taught me more about critical thinking and the ways of the world more than school/college(uni) could have ever hope to.
Loved the original band saw them in Wigan they were great! Great version!
Great!!! Just noticed, a drummer peer/friend of mine on the drums. Spike Smith! Good dude. Great reaction video too! Really great to see someone here in youtube world getting hyped on the punk rock tip!
I was at this gig and it was fckn amazing. Tears flooded

Check out Carol singing Shaved Women from the same concert.
I love seeing how excited you are as you discover these killer tunes for the first time. WELCOME aboard sir. 👍
Thank you for this satisfying video & giving Carol Hodge the love!!!
Saw crass in 83 then 22 still great
i totaly agree with you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!take care!
Wow - thank you for this upload. Last i knew about Steve Ignrant he was singing for Conflict. After that he was in a versiuon of the Coast Guard - for real. Going out and saving sailors in distress. Very cool to learn about this. Isn't that Eve Libertine on vocals ? She still works with Steve ?
Carol Hodge, Steve, and the band are outstanding. This is an excellent example of pure punk. We love these guys.
Hey so cool you're diggin this! Lyric breakdown would be amazing. Also, in particular, Do They Owe Us a Living from album The Feeding of 5000. This band got me through so many years, I'm 53 now n heard them age 15 taping to cassette off college/community radio. Fav album Penis Envy.
I was at this gig 😁
Neat interview. Thanks for spreading peace between the races, religions, and politicians.

You can’t call Gizz an “original punk” when he was 10 or 11 when punk broke through. But he did play with the English Dogs (formed in 1980/81) from about 1984/5.

You should see this band if you ever get the chance, they are so much better now. Listen to the original crass version of this song, its amazing. Also Carole does have her own music available, she has an amazing voice
You're right Mate! CrAss were the REAL Punks of the day!! They still sound bloody amazing :-) x
I LOVE Carol's voice! When Steve Ignorant decided to a tour back in....I think it was 2010? 2011? I had heard that there were auditions for Joi De Vivre's & Eve Libertine's vocals & I hoped that Steve chose wisely. I went to see them. I was living in Seattle. EXCELLENT show! Eve Libertine used to sing this track: it's from the Crass album called Penis Envy. Carol embodies the spirit of these songs perfectly. Her passion is palpable! Thanks for reviewing! 🖤💀
Love that Crass is on your list.
I've been into CRASS since I first heard them back in 1979 and I particularly love this track and yes I agree that her voice is truly Wonderful 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
My personal favorite Crass songs are Walls, Berkertex Bribe and Securicor. great freaking band!
Absolutely love Carol Hodge. Pure energy 😎❤️
The whole of the last supper gig is amazing it’s about an hour and a half of crass songs give it a watch it’s great. I saw crass 3 times 1981/82/83 I was 16/17 and 18. Please give it a watch you seem to like crass I promise you will love it.Crass lyrics are class. I’m sorry I didn’t realise this video was two years old lol English punk rock is the best though lol
Best punk rock song ever!!!!!
P.S. YES!! I would LOVE it if you'd feature more songs by Crass. Walls is my favorite song by them. I Know There Is Love is my second favorite! 🖤💀
FIGHT WAR, NOT WARS
Awesome!
My friends! Gizz on guitar and Spike on the kit! This was the best tour back in 2012. I hold Carol at my top of the punk rock female vocalist list. Well done, love the review, cheers! W
great review!! new sub bro ❤
Imagine finding this as a teenager in the eighties it was a different world and this did its job RUBBING UP AUTHORITY THE WRONG WAY WITH TRUTH.
This is real protest that's why it sounds real, Crass is also art, together with Conflict it's a riot! I am a punkster my whole life and have been squatting for years ,I am 48 now and still won't give in although my body is ruined( mostly getting beat up by skins and coppers) " chords are frustration when the words are from the heart" " don't expect music when the melody is anger when the message sings defiance" those slogans are Crass in a nutshell( taken from a Crass records compilation, "Bulshit detector three"
More, please!
The whole album bar maybe 1 song is top class anarchic punk
This guy gets it!
Poison Idea
Have you looked into Laibach? They're like the Bizarro Universe Crass haha!
A couple of the punk songs people have been having you check out are pretty good, but most of them for me are lower-tier when it comes quality, musicianship and lyrics. Love to see more variety for the genre.

SHAVED WOMEN
My New Model Army request for you is 'Vengeance'. And if you like that then check out 'Inheritance'. Or maybe '225' or 'Archway Towers' or 'Lust For Power' hell i don't know. I've been part of the NMA fam for almost 30 years now. We're more of a tribe than a fanbase and punk heart and soul is what unites us.
P.P.S. big man, big M.A.N. is another AMAZING Crass song!
Brother have you checked out from Washington DC BAD BRAINS? REGGAE AND PUNKROCK AT IT'S BEST
"Systematic death" is their best and the lyrics are beautiful and depressingly poignant.
If you like this you should check out anarchistwood, they're somewhere between crass and (pre pop) chumbawamba
Since their start in the seventies Crass, for me at least, has always been a guiding light for many to see through the glossy veneer of the system we live in. Derided, persecuted, harrassed by the British government for speaking out against the BS and injustice that was so evidently visible and ignored by so many. I am happy for you that the dime has dropped. Want the modern version of this? Sleaford Mods!
Minor threat
Carol hodge hodges is crass!
