Thornielee has a reputation in the Tweed Valley for being one of the steepest MTB trail areas... we'll show you some of the friendlier trails you can hit though!
South of the famous Innerleithen mountain biking mecca in Scotland, this hill boasts a number of really good shorter trails, all accessed by the same fireroad up. Expect technical sections, chutes and rocks. You'll experience the trail from our POV and get a feel for what to expect if it's your first time here.

Thanks for sharing - really good to confirm that the trails at the top aren't crazily steep. I wasn't sure whether it was the famous GoPro flattening that made the trails look a bit less hairy. I stay abroad now but really want to get to these trails and Yair in the Tweed Valley when I'm back in Scotland sometime. So much to biking to choose from there!

Yeah the top ones are a nice gradient and not too techy for the most part, just really good fun. It is hard to tell with the classic go pro effect! Ah well I’d definitely recommend these southern tweed valley spots!
Skillfully navigated through the tech of Thornielee, always good to see the different trails you can ride here, these trails seemed to have became more popular recently, thanks for sharing!

its a great place to ride, small area but trails are so good. good place to setup suspension as well.

Hey there, great vid on Thornielee. I very recently watched your last one when you were there in the snow! Also visited this myself about 2 weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed the place. I first saw your vids of this place 3 years ago, and it's taken me this long to work up the skill and courage do to them!

We both run Hayes dominions. Used to be on Hope but finding these a lot more reliable and good modulation!
Trails look in good condition and running well.. I'm still waiting to see a video on SNIPER at Yair

Yeah the ones we rode were running great. Ahah we do need to ride it sometime! It’s got quite the reputation!
Being a valley local I dunno if you've heard the rumour that Thornie might be getting flattened by forestry work...all of it. :(
