Thorens TD-224 Record Changer - Changing 45 RPM Records
Thorens TD-224 changing 45's with authentic mechanical sounds. This changer is close to 60 years old, as such some of the squeaks are not "authentic" as originally designed.
Includes approx. 45 second natural decay of rotation after shut-off.

Wow!! Just fascinating. I'd never seen a record player like this.
That's cool. Never seen a changer like that before. I have record changers but the usual stackers ones.
Wow, the mechanical engineering that went into that changer is simply amazing! Thanks for posting!
Fascinating player. Seems like they made it a little more complex than it needs to be but, it is fun to watch.
great precision and quality of yesteryears.
Fantastically convoluted system!
Beautiful turntable from a great manufacturer. I love the mechanisms required for such a neat auto-changer. Even down to the simple velvet record brush for the various record sizes.
Amazing machine & great tunes too!
What a fascinating machine. And the 45's all seem to be from the BeeGee's and Yvonne E. You should have let them play all the way through (lol)! Thank you for sharing this video. Great record changer!

I think the reason for cutting the records show as to avoid copyright issues. On the websites I've seen you are only allowed to play a few seconds of a song to avoid a copyright issue (please correct me if I'm wrong).
that velvet cleaning brush is a clever idea
Wonderful beautiful and fascinating thanks for sharing
Gorgeous condition turntable. And the mechanics.. Well a little more lubricant maybe...
Absolutely Stunning Love It
Great piece of kit
what a cool changer
I hope a manufacture can make this changer for this era.
That's the weirdest changer I've ever seen.

Mesmerizing!!!!
What cool thing! Beautiful!
Thorens always knew how to make great turntables! They are very beaffy and last a long time!
What a gem!
I love that it must be rare ! 👍
I've had one since new. A beautiful machine, no doubt. Mine has the original turntable mat; the one above looks like a replacenent. The only weak spot on mine is not always sensing when no record is brought in (which triggers the shutoff cycle).

So does the arm set down on the platter instead of shutting off? I still have the original mat too. For some reason the machine would occasionally have trouble picking up 7" 45's from the platter. The thinner DJ slip mat seemed to solve the problem.
What a great record player and music
Awesome
Thank you to share the video. 👍👍👍😀🔈
cleave rlittle gadget wow better than 45,s smacking down on each other as with my old radiogram.
Amazing!

Thank you for this tacnology my elder brother really like this
I like the crying baby sound effect. What's wrong with a good old record changer where you stack the records, i guess this supposed to be a high end unit.

There is nothing wrong with a good old record changer where you stack the records. I own several. Yes, this was/is a high end unit.
Wonderful

Thing's got some serious flyweight lol
I've never seen an auto-change record player that does that - as opposed to stacking them.
Really cool!...............BUT the only problem is it will only play "Saturday Night Fever" records!........
wow where i can buy this turntable
Nice auto TT. Sounds like it needs lubrication. Does this only play 45’s?

Thanks. It plays all 4 speeds, and all size records up to 12".

@@PatrickOBrien808 After I wrote the comment-I looked closer at the picture of the TT and noticed the speed selector! I have seen many manual Thorens TT'ssome in small radio stations.First time I have seen an auto multiply one like yours.

Intricate mechanism, way out there. Show me when I am over again. 👌😃
Круто !
From where I get by which cost
Record Changer is just like a "ROBOT"
Like the squeak.
Curious mechanics. A bit too over-elaborate though. More that can go wrong with this type of turntable.

Watching, one concern I saw was that it looked like the tone arm was going to drop on the empty turntable after the last record finished playing.

Hey put oil
it's imposible!!!
When playing an LP is just too complicated... 🤣
Farli sentire un attimo no, vero ?!
A great turntable but a HORRIBLE video...! Couldnt someone oil this thing, prior to shooting the video (?!). 😮
