I honestly think this entire scene should’ve been a full blown great fight scene between Thor and Zeus, while the rest of the group defend off the other guys. Eventually resulting in Thor barely getting away with the lightning bolt and all of them fleeing away… That alone would have made this movie way better

The casting and characterization for Zeus was fine. But they didn't give him much to do in a movie about a god killer. It's really absurd that God of War 3 has better storytelling than this movie.

The funny/sad thing is: they've filmed an entirely different arc with Zeus, where he is wiser etc. You can find it in the deleted scenes. It's impressive to see what they finally chose.

From comics, Zeus defeated Hulk easily, slapped away superman and he rules over other op gods like Poseidon and Hades. This character was disgraced version of zeus 😅

In these movies, the action is so... inconsequential. No one ever dies, and when they die, they are somehow resurrected. There is no sense or urgency or drama, because we know the end anyway. And even if one or maybe two heroes actually die (such as Iron Man - finally some kind of drama!), we still know what the end will be. Maybe because these are movies for children, but still, such a shame.

Dont agree. But they should have slowed down and reconsider the direction the mcu is going. Too many flops agains pnly 1 or 2 good movies.

Should of had Gorr crash the meeting and slay a bunch of gods here instead of whatever this mess is. Taika didn’t even have the balls to let Korg die here, what a joke.

This was probably the last marvel movie I'll have seen in the theater. After Infinity Wars and Endgame, they traded epic story telling and amazing character development for cringy humor and two dimensional characters.

It's time to put an end to these comedy films... It's already bad enough... Thor 1 and 2 were bad, but the dark and more serious theme made it a thousand times better

I thought this movie was fun and hilarious. A nice change up from the standard repetitive, over and over and over serious action flick. I don’t understand why everyone is so upset, it’s like a breath of fresh air. I would rather not have EVERY single saga end up like call of duty.

It showed at the end of Love and Thunder that Zeus although wounded survived his own Thunderbolt going through him. I'm not sure about the other guards in Omnipotence City that appeared to be mowed down By Thor & company.

not true. BEATING one though...different story. Thor in Marvel comics proper can take on just about anyone in the greek pantheon except Zeus himself....this has been proven in comics on more than one occasion. Hercules, for example, MIGHT be a better wrestler/fighter....but for the most part all he has is his strength...and the storm related powers tip the balance. and even agaisnt Zeus....he can go a round or two before getting slapped down. but he HAS been slapped down, EVERY time., barring plot contrivances.

@@VDA19 I liked Odin. I thought Anthony Hopkins did a good job. As for Thor being weak, if you read the earlier comics, they were pretty much on par. He's getting more powerful with every movie, so if they were to keep making Thor movies (which they aren't) you might think different.

I mean Dr. Strange MOM still had some decent ideas and a proper villain. this thing is just a joke. This is one of the worst movies of the decade. Taika is so full of himself.

"avengers" era loki would've been quite difficult for jane but she would find a way. post-avengers loki where he doesn't take himself seriously. jane would've beaten him easily.

The fight scenes are painful to watch and Natalia Portman nor Tessa Thompson possess the natural fighting skills necessary to make the combat scenes believable. Slow down the fight scenes and I think you will be shocked at just how sloppy they are.

Glad I did not see this movie. Way too much bad comedy and fighting.

This is why modern M-she-U movies suck. No real threat, heavy cgi, had to include the "I'm gay" scene and there's no build up or tension. Compare it to the older MCU movies before "didney" got its grubby little hands on it and you'll see.

​​​@@THETRIVIALTHINGS You must not know that a lot of Greeks were bisexual. Valkyries from Nordic mythology are adaptations from the Keres in Greek mythology and perform essentially the same function. Also, the character Valkyrie has been bisexual in the comics for years.

@@Spock4771 It was a 2-hour long SNL Thor parody skit. Comedy in an action movie is fine. Going to see an action movie, but being surprised by a goofy comedy isn't fine. It would be like going to see the Fast and the Furious and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobbie pops up. I like that movie, but I have to be in the right mood for it. I love SNL skits, but I don't want to watch 2 hours of skits especially when I was excited to see Thor battle the God Butcher.

Ridiculous. No way Thor or any of them defeat Zeus. And Zeus as some kind of buffoon dancing around and playing with a single lightning bolt?

So all the other Olimpian gods would only watch while Zeus is killed perhaps the marvel people have made one to many movies they when from fantasy ficcion to ficción in fantasy in you can't accurately use a character like Zeus you shouldn't trow him in the mix.

Is thor biological related to zeus because in the comic book zeus grandmother is the biological mother of Thor?

I'm so glad I passed on this movie in the theaters. It looks so cringe.

Out of context I like it it. With context I hate it. Did I miss something with Thor's... wife now? Did getting porked by him make her worthy of Mjölnir?

This movie is a travesty played for cheap laughs. Zeus is the supreme being of his pantheon, and his power level is roughly equivalent to that of Odin. He's not some fat guy in a tutu mincing about Mount Olympus. He could defeat Thor without any effort, like Odin could defeat Hercules. Then there's the absurd scene of the Olympians swooning over Thor's body. Umm...there is that old saying "Like a Greek god". The Greek gods were noted for their physical perfection, and included Apollo, Eros and Adonis, the last being virtually synonymous with male beauty.
