Enjoyed your video a couple recommendations, chock the front wheels and make a set, and use ramps to jack up the rear not the leveling jacks, I have a new SuperC and I had a hyd line blow on one jack causing that side to drop down in about a second, so if that would have happened while under motorhome it would have been the end of me, so be careful. Also they make an ez drain plug that you can replace the original one with, makes life a lot easier draining oil.

Yeah I think I'd have some HD jack stands underneath it all regardless.

Always fill your oil filter with fresh oil before replacement. Oil drain plug torque 35 lbs and very easy to use torque wrench to get to it. Good video and thanks for uploading so we can save some money learning from eachother.

Great video No Grip NC. This helped me. We're on our second diesel pusher and for the first time ever I'm changing my own oil. The last time I took mine to a nationwide dealer for service on the engine and the diesel generator they broke one of the hinges on the large front hood at the generator. Instead of telling me and making it right, they closed the hood and left it for me to find later myself. Fortunately, I was able to repair it and I'm sure the mechanic could have also. I've always maintained my other vehicles, so I've studied and KZreadd up and ready to tackle mine. Thanks.

@@diy-mitch-vlogs well first off I will say I worked for a large electric utility here in Alabama for 35 years and all at a fleet tech position. I worked every piece of equipment from dozers to bucket trucks which the last several years were Freightliners. They came first with the 3127 Cat , then the C7 to C10 engines. The last were all Cummins from the 8.3 which my 08 Tiffin Phaeton has to just before retiring had the ISC 9L. All had Allison 3000 to the 4000 series. Before working at electric utility I began at a heavy equipment dealer that primarily worked on International’s. Worked primarily in the coal mining industry like large Dozers,rock trucks and large wheel loaders. There were several factors you started off with that made me see you don’t do it for a living and if so worked at an express oil change or something. Just about all would have started the oil drain and then removed the filter and probably drained it until it was at a drip since there is no rush to have the job done. There is alot of oil still running down from the head area on a fresh run engine to just drain in a few minutes. I notice you really are like a lot that just enjoy your few minutes of fame . So unless you make a living working on cars trucks diesels, by all means put out more videos but I just don’t see you doing that for a living. You got girly hands. Enough about me now let’s see you put your money where your mouth is and give me your job description. Guess I could say I am 66 years old and retired 2 years ago

@@diy-mitch-vlogs well I just changed mine back in April before a month long trip , so won’t be till next April cause I won’t never put 500 hours on my motorhome . The time I do change it is by Cummins recommendations 1 year or 500 hours . Probably will never see me on a video , don’t have the time or knowledge of working any video equipment. I do wonder why you serviced the engine and generator without changing fuel filters. That’s always the time I change mine or if you did but didn’t include it. I noticed someone saying fill the oil filter before installing which is a no no,even Cummins or Cat will tell yo that. I just fill my engine with oil and install new filter . Crank engine and let it fill it. Never lost an engine yet by that too.

This was a very helpful video that we referred to several times during changing our motor coaches oil. Not only is it helpful, it’s the only video we could find for our Thor Palazzo. So thank you for taking time to make it. We do think it takes a long time to add the oil and it is in an awkward spot. Definitely need the hose with the funnel. Well done! Thanks for sharing. Much cheaper. We got 6 gallons at Costco. It was 29 a gallon. Still cheaper than a shop charges, plus we are learning things along the way. 👍🏻

I bought a drill powered pump from Ebay for 13 bucks. Made it so much easier to put the oil in than the first time. You're right about the oil fill being in a hard place to fill. But the pump made it fast and easy.

I have an ISB 6.7 on my freight liner M2 I bought O'Riley's Oil 2 2.5Gl jugs $72 and my oil filter 3970 from freightliner dealer $15 total I payed for my oil change $87 bucks bro thanks for the vid.

Great video. Just getting ready to change the oil in my Tuscany 40 XTE. I use my pressure washer to clean the engine. I go in from the inside top hatch and finish up on the under side. I do this before I change oil. I don't like working on dirty engines.

Man. Great video. Just bought a new sportcoach and haven't had a chance to get up under it like that. You answered alot of questions I had. I do the oil plug tightening exactly the same.

Great video, thanks!! You are encouraging me to do it myself right before our 10,000 miles journey on our way to Alaska in June. Question: will T6 be better than T4? The last time I changed the oil in a shop, they put T4 but I'd like to see if T6 is better?. As far as recommendations for you, just wear gloves and take your watch out... that's pretty much it!!

Rotella T6 is the full synthetic oil vs the T4 conventional. (I think some aspects of T4 are synthetic blend, but not full synthetic like T6). Just look up the specs. But I ran T6 in the last oil change and I've only put about 4000 miles on my motorhome since then so I didn't even change it last season. Since I went with T6 last time, I'll probably continue to run T6 because it is full synthetic.

Not specifically. I think I mention the fuel filters on a couple vids. But overall the worst part is priming the system back. I fill the new primary filter back with fuel as well as the secondary-water separator. I don’t recommend replacing them both at the same time without at least getting an engine start in between. Last time I did it I thought I’d burn the starter up trying to get the Cummins to start.

Dude.... You lifted the rear tires off the ground anyway. I hope you chocked the front tires. But, good video! I just finished changing oil in my 2014 Itasca (Winnebago) 36M. The oil filter was a bear to get access to get it off.

Don't you think that you should chock the front wheels?

It came like that. I took the aluminum simulators off it and just added the plastic center caps and spikes.

This is not true. Guidance from manufacturers and Caterpillar is that its too risky. So long as the engine ran before the oil change, all the surfaces in the engine will remain lubricated while the filter is filled.

Did you ever make a fuel filter change or service and if so did you do a video. Also do you know what the part#s are for them? We have same chassis and motor on our fleetwood Thanks B

what is the small filter that is close to the 2 fuel filters? It looks like a little oil filter but its not.???

It's not and oil filter. There is a water seperator and a main fuel filter.

Well, do what I did. Teach your kids how to do an oil change. Then give them $20.
