Thomas The Tender Engine
Ойын-сауық
So it's been a while since I've produced something that wasn't satire hasn't it?
First of all, I would like to give a massive thank you to Rhydyronen for giving me feedback and helping me with the making of the crash, the entire crash would've looked WAY different if it wasn't for his help (more on that later). Another huge thank you to Jake EARNY (Jje09) for creating a fantastic design for the brake tender and for letting me use the model for this video, as well as finishing the bogey and giving me the source files so that I could make new expressions for the model. Some more thank yous to Ty for making the score for this video and Richard Jordan for providing the narration for this video. Both did an excellent job with their parts! And a final thank you goes to @cheeky_thomas for writing the original story, make sure to follow him!
cheeky_thomas?s=20
That said, As some of you noticed, I am using ts19 now, which is a massive upgrade from 09. My new pc has allowed me to do a bunch of stuff that I wasn't able to do previously on my old pc, like texturing in Substance, exporting my models to TS19 with PBR textures, etc.
Speaking of exporting models, I've been focusing on getting a few of my recent models done for Sodor Workshops. Trust me, it'll be worth the wait ;)

4:35 I love the poor Brake Tender’s pained expression. Something you’d only see once if it were an actual episode but just added to the authenticity... I thought this detail, however minute, was really cool and felt true to the classic era of the show.

This narration is some seriously good stuff, you could easily convince me this came out of Season 1 or 2
This is one of the most clever uses of Boco’s brake tender. I love this story, and your adaptation is great!
Golden. I loved this so so much Hernan. Everything was great and I'm very happy for you for finally getting this out!
Thomas: Let me use this thing that will supposedly make my journey safer. Fat Controller: How dare you try and be safer!
This felt like an S2 episode.
A Lost Episode, that’s all I can call this. You made this perfectly and it couldn’t have been any more perfect. The Visuals, The Cast, The Music. Yeah, it’s official- you got a New Subscriber!!!
Loved how well you replicated the season 2 atmosphere, plus how you mirrored Thomas saving James back in season 1, but with the roles reversed. Ending seemed meanspirited though lol, even for Thomas. Thomas has to be in a lot of pain and uncomfortable, you'd think the characters would show a LITTLE sympathy.
If Thomas really was being overworked, he could've just said that they needed another engine.

This is very clever. And hearing Richard Jordan's narration in this video also makes this production a joy to watch, too.
Awesome work, all of you! And that was a clever story too! Makes me think back at how the old stories of Thomas were like. Great to have BoCo too!
It's amazing how all the oil drums managed to stay upright on the flatbed even after the train derailed!

Fantastic video, especially with that crash. And hats off to @cheeky_thomas for the story.
This is a great video hernan and I loved the crash!
A really nice episode, but feels a bit too cruel to Thomas at the end. Perhaps have it end like Thomas & The Trucks with the Fat Controller simply telling Thomas he needs more time to learn how to handle things properly? Eh, just throwing out ideas.

It’s like a season 3 episode I never knew I wanted. A neat little story. Cheers.
I have never seen your channel before, but I'm glad I found it! I loved this, especially the crash it was so intense! I cannot wait to see more!! :)
I feel kind of sorry for Thomas. It seems like he was trying to do the right thing by using the tender, since Boco gave him the choice to use it earlier, and since Thomas was trying to alleviate his troubles with braking down the hill. He even had to humble himself a little to couple up to it. But all he did was get into an accident and get scolded by Sir Topham Hatt. It's sad to see his attempt to play on the safe side backfire on him.
If I were Mattel, I would be making some business calls, this is incredible! 10/10!

I'm so glad people like you actually make good Thomas episodes in 2020.
This is an amazing story man I really enjoyed it and of course I feel bad for Thomas but however karma is karma and I can't wait to see more videos.
Observation, critique, and suggestion: The way the scene is depicted starting from here (3:48) makes the events a bit confusing. What's seen is Thomas struggling up the hill, still moving forward, but for some reason applying his brakes which causes the coupling to snap and the trucks to runaway down the hill. The fact that we see Thomas still moving forward up the hill when the trucks run away makes the fact that Thomas, with only a brake tender and with his brakes applied, suddenly slides down the hill and derails confusing because it implies that he still moved forward a bit with the brake tender, stopped, and then despite having his brakes and the tender brakes applied and only having at most 37.5 tons from the tender behind him he still somehow slides down the hill. Remember Newton's first law: an object in motion stays in motion while an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. If Thomas was still moving forward when the coupling snapped the force of the brakes would halt his forward motion and stop him. Once stopped the force of gravity combined with the ruling grade of Gordon's Hill would not have been enough to overcome friction and the combined power of the brakes on both Thomas and the tender and cause him to go from rest to sliding down the hill. He'd stay quite firmly where he was. The narration, on the other hand, describes a situation similar to what happened to James in "Leaves" where the weight of the Express pulls him down the hill. Thomas should have been similarly depicted already sliding downhill with the train and gaining speed before applying the brakes too quickly. Assuming the train was made entirely of unfitted stock and was honestly that heavy then yes you could make the argument that the coupling could snap in response to the sudden application of the brakes against the momentum of the heavy train already moving down the hill (there's Newton again). With gravity and the ruling grade pulling the heavy trucks down the hill against the force of Thomas' and the brake tender's combined braking the couplings could snap - if Thomas and the brake tender rapidly came to a stop. Thomas and the tender would have instantly lost their momentum but the trucks, unfitted with no braking power, would still have their momentum which could snap the coupling and send them careening down the hill. Thomas, meanwhile, would still be stopped on the hill and, as mentioned above, would not be sliding down the hill. In short, an alright story but the visuals don't quite agree with the narration and physics dictate that Thomas himself should not have derailed once the trucks got away from him. A more likely scenario is that Thomas still gets to the top of the hill given that a brake tender weighs at most 37.5 tons which would make it more difficult, but not impossible, to crest the hill. Once on the downward slope the heavy train could begin to pick up speed, Thomas applies the brakes to bring the train under control but does it too quickly not factoring in the additional braking power of the brake tender, the momentum of the heavy unfitted trucks still pushes them against the braking force of Thomas and the tender (Newton again) causing the trucks to derail and pile up behind Thomas, a real-world problem if the brakes are applied too hard on a long heavy train with cars having a shorter wheelbase or if there happen to be a couple of lighter cars in the middle of the consist. That kind of derailment still happens even today with modern braking systems. With the pileup you'd still have all the lines blocked and Thomas himself could still plausibly come off the rails.

That crash though, very good editing!
Ending was a little crappy imo. If The Fat Controller had to scold Thomas, he should've also realised that he was giving him too much work. I hate the "blame engine for no reason" scenarios that plague his character and it's a little sad to see the other engines tease him when it's not entirely his fault. Whilst Thomas' Train had a similar ending, it still made sense.

Wait, did Auran actually enable train derailments in TS2019, or did you have to do various tricks to achieve a derailment effect? Stupid question, but it would definitely help convince me to upgrade from TANE to TS2019 if it did, as I missed the ability for trains to actually go flying off the track back in Trainz 2009. :(
@Ricardocomics14

Sadly now is impossible, he used a invisible track to make the crash. But why are you still using 2009? In Trainz 12 there are derailments too. For example, this is a crash compilation video made with Trainz 12: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZW2C3Jd7aL2xdLQ.html

I give this episode a 4/10. This episode was very nicely filmed, especially the crash sequence, but it overall made me feel too sympathetic towards Thomas for me to enjoy. I felt like he didn't deserve the harshness he was given, and BoCo was honestly the only other character I liked in this video. The brake tender just felt lifeless, even though it has a face. Not an episode I'm particularly impressed with, but I can definitely see you have put great effort into the making of this.
@nathanchan4653
3 жыл бұрын
Let me explain... Thomas DOES deserve harshness from The Fat Controller because The Fat Controller KNOWS that Thomas lacks common sense hence why Thomas often gets scolded harshly by The Fat Controller. If Thomas “did” think for a change, then Thomas wouldn’t have cause so much trouble.

This has that same logic that the season 1 of thomas had. It made it look like it was Thomas's fault when in actuality, the fat controller made the trains work on things that thomas could and absolutely would love to do.
