Thomas Brodie-Sangster Crafted Two Versions of Jack in The Artful Dodger

In The Artful Dodger, the titular character grows up to become an accomplished surgeon by the name of Jack Dawkins (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) who lives in Australia. But things quickly go awry for Jack when a figure from his past turns up on the recent convict ship, and Jack finds him forced to play host to his erstwhile father figure, Fagin (David Thewlis). Together, Thewlis and Brodie-Sangster make for a dynamic duo, and the series is made even more delightful by the blossoming romance between Jack and the Governor's daughter Lady Belle (Maia Mitchell).
Speaking with Collider, Thomas Brodie-Sangster discusses how Jack presents two versions of himself when he's with Fagin or he's rubbing elbows with posh society, why he chose to stick with one accent for his character, how Jack is grappling with a loss of trust and security, the high mortality rate of surgeries in the period, and how vital "love" is to who Jack is as a person, particularly in relation to Fagin and Lady Belle.

At first glance but if you pay attention you can start to see aging coming in. His nasolabial folds and eye bags are pronouncing.

Notice how he ‘dodged’ the season 2 question. I don’t think unless it blows up on Disney plus they will do a season 2. I think they set it up well for one though. I didn’t expect to like this show either but boy did it grow on me and hopefully will get more attention and appreciation.
The script of this show was absolutely fantastic ! The show deserves so much! I absolutely loved Maia and Thomas they were amazing

Totally. The quick, clever banter was better than most series out these days. The actors did an incredible job with the delivery
Hope for a well written dodger 2. Finish it where dodger gets Belle and happiness

This man is amazing he is my favorite actor i literally watch all the movies he's in because i know it's always going to be good i am praying for season 2 of The artful dodger i am obsessed ❤
I’m really proud of him I think he’s really proud of this role and actually loves the work.
I would've really loved if dodger's cockney slipped through more when he was emotional or angry. The slight hint at cockney made me so happy but I crave more lmao This show is abasolutely perfect, though, and feels like such a perfect natural succession to the original story. I fully went into watching it thinking I'd hate it but it was just too good!! The historical elements were done in a way modern audiences can understand and I loved that, too, even though I'm usually such a stickler for the detail. Sincerely longing for a season 2
Love him. I hope there is a season 2 given how obvious the ending of season 1 was continue the story. Also I hope he gets casted as Link for the Zelda movie.

Funny how he looks way younger with shorter hair. Crazy how one haircut can change your whole face sometimes
