"GET BACK TO F*CKING WORK BILLY"
Oh happy days. This franchise had toys that warped my imagination. I basically started at the bottom and worked my way up. I had ERTL, that was probably my starting point, I had the Wooden set (I even remember breaking the cab on Gordon when I accidentally dropped him from a balcony), I even had those TOMY toys that barely looked like the characters, especially in the wheel department. Then I went Hornby and Bachmann and never went back. The ERTL and Wooden stuff were out the door by 2006 I think. They were under the bed, just gathering dust, then they said I could donate them to the local charity shop, and I gave them up. I was done with them at that point. Actually, I may have talked about it in a video at one point, but the coolest thing I remember seeing when I was young was a jigsaw puzzle my primary school had. It was a giant puzzle of The Railway Series. It had, I believe, the first 8 book covers as the image. That may actually have been my introduction to the books. Absolutely loved it, although to be fair, I was 5 years old at the time... I remember this vividly. First time I found the puzzle, there was a piece missing from James' segment. I tore apart the classroom to find that last bit, and I remember being overjoyed when James was no longer missing a part of his boiler 🤣
The Hornby models definitely give off a very RWS vibe, and that's why Hornby has become one of my favourite Thomas merch lines. They are good runners, providing you don't make the mistake I made when I was 5 and get the mechanisms clogged with carpet fuzz.

I prefer thomas, percy, james, gordon, henry, oliver murdoch hornby models But for bachmann i prefer edward, emily, annie and clarabel, duck, toby, spencer
Finally. Take Along (and Take n' Play) get the recognition they deserve. I had like, three different versions of the Die-Cast James' growing up (cuz I kept losing him). The die casts are definitely my bread and butter when it comes to collecting. I do think the best ERTL toys ever were the diesels and road vehicles (EVERY single ERTL diesel loco slapped, except Diesel 10, I guess) so I like to collect ERTL Diesels, Road Vehicles, and rolling stock alongside Take Along's steam locomotives. If only I could find ERTL Bear and Salty, my life could be complete...

Take n play (older version) and take a long are highly underated
4:33 I don't know if it's really been made aware or not but the coupling system the Adventures/Collectible Railway utilizes was repurposed from the Rapid Transit train system Hot Wheels made back in 2011.

I love Thomas adventures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, bro. Love your videos as always. The lines that I collect are Take N Play, Ertl (partially), Adventures and, yes, Push Along. And yes. As much as *I* despise All Engines Go, I will admit that the Push Alongs for the AEG diecasts are well detailed. I'm also after the Bachmann AND the Diapet Thomas. Also, happy new year, my friend! Wish you all the best and keep up the good work.
Wooden railway, Take along and trackmaster original are my all time favorite merchandise items and they gave me so much nostalgia
You just unlocked so many memories with that Thomas computer duplo game
I absolutely love Take Along! It is the best. They may not have made BoCo but it doesn’t matter because these toys are still excellent in every way.
I have three different versions of Thomas. ERTL, Track Master, and the Wooden Railway and I adore them so much. They may not be the best models, but they are special to me just like the little engine himself. This video was delightful and it was fun to see how many iterations of the character are out there.
CGI Plural Thomas looks amazing. I'll get that on my birthday next year
They decided to f him at the Best Buy and made him cry. That South Park reference though. 😅🤣
OH MAN OH I LOVE THE PLARAIL STUFF the 3d printing of the faces look soo sleek with the locomotivesss
Nothing beats old school plarail tomy. Good vid
something interesting about push along, is that if you think about it, it could have been the merchandise that, in a cheap way, is the closest form of the narrow gauge engines.
I remember most of these, I was playing with Lego duplicate as an infant in daycare and I remember the website. Oh how people have went backwards instead of forwards 😢
18:25 “look buddy, that’s you!!!” Such a mood 😂😂
Personally I've always favoured ertl, it was what I grew up with. I have a bandai Diesel 10 and some diapets and they look incredible.
If you wondered why there aren’t any Thomas funko pops, it’s because Mattel refuses to let any toy company that they don’t own make Thomas merchandise Exept bachmann because Mattel doesn’t make model trains and TOMY, because they can sue Mattel for their coupling design

One thing i hate about Trackmaster Revolution is that they removed the free-rail option, and whenever you try to do that, it damages the motor, which sucks.

2 other things I hate about Trackmaster Revolution besides the removal of the free-railing are: 1. The spiky wheels. If the engine is still powered on, a little kid could put that in a dangerous area like their lips (this 100% never happened to me), or um... *other* areas. 2. The body mold proportions... Good lord, where do I begin? I feel like some of the most painful examples are Edward, Gordon and Henry. Edward got chopped 'n' screwed so bad, he got turned into an 0-6-0 with a "leading wheel" molded to his running board so now he looks like a fake 'Mogul', Gordon looks like an ACTUAL sausage, and Henry looks like a rejected prototype of BCE. Plus, everyone is just so... FAT.

that is the worst part of revolution imo
The plarail Thomas line was my entire childhood, sad my old collection got thrown away, but I have got thomas and percy back from a cheap garage sale in good condition, currently Hu ting for Edward.
I honestly haven't seen anything thomas related in probably 20 yesrs (i do know of some stuff ofcourse), but the wooden railway line in the early 2000s was something else. God I remember they use to sell the vhs tapes here in the US with the trains included. Sometimes my mom would say "hey, don't you own that one already?" Yes mom but this one has Toby included so I needs it lol. I miss my wooden railway collection now.

I remember that if I did my chores, each week she would take me to get a new train I pick out. I remember asking if I could have a big train and shown her a gordon. I think she thought something like 1/24 scale and not I think 1/64 scale so she was relieved I bet lol
You and I have something in common. Trackmaster was my shit, even in the years of the late 2000's and the early 2010's when I was a kid during a time when Thomas was entering into the world of CGI, with great animation, great voices (apart from Matt Wilkinson's voice for Victor), and "Hero of the Rails" and "Blue Mountain Mystery" are also great Thomas movies.

I guess they didn’t translate very well to plastic 3D molded faces with rolling eyes on Bachmann as HO scale models.
I Like The ERTL, Take Along, TOMY, Bachmann, And BANDAI Ones.
As a late 90s era Thomas kid, ERTL was my main toyline, but I also had some Wooden Railway and a single Plarail set: A Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel set, which I still have. If I wanted to just play Thomas, I would play ERTL. But I could easily crossover Wooden Railway with my other wooden trains like Brio, and I also had some non-Thomas Plarail like Japanese bullet trains, which I'd cross them over with. I guess Thomas decided to go to Japan or something. I loved ERTL because I thought they looked the best and most accurate at the time. Even my dad genuinely loved their aesthetic, and when he'd buy them for me, it really felt like he was enjoying the toy hunt as much as I was. But in retrospect, their wheels felt flimsy, their paint chipped easily, and their couplers were crap and broke easily. I still have my entire childhood collection, but a good chunk of them have broken or decayed couplers, and my Douglas has been missing a tender wheel since I was a kid. Wooden Railway was the easiest to find and the most versatile, so I liked it a lot too. My favorite was the Flying Scotsman and his two tenders. I don't have these anymore, though, I gave them away to my dad's friend's son years ago. I hope he enjoyed them. As a current collector/enjoyer/appreciator of Japanese toys (mainly action figures, though), I actually appreciate Plarail more now than I did as a kid. As a kid, I did like my Plarail but I felt they looked a bit kiddie and off compared to the others, so I never went out of my way for them. After I outgrew Thomas, I was out with the family and we came across some Take Along in a store. I remember my dad actually lamenting that the designs, molds, proportions, etc. were no longer on the same realistic level as ERTL, and called them something along the lines of "those ugly babies". Now, I don't care to collect Thomas generally, but I've seen Minis in stores and have been tempted to collect them. I get that they just sort of exist, but I see charm in them, and might start doing just that.
Theoretically, you could use the 2010 Mega Bloks engines as body shells for models. All you need is glue, sandpaper, plastic cutters, and paint.
YES THE TIME HAS COME!!!!
Hornby and bachmann Will Always be my fav.

8:07 oh hey that's my picture of ertl Gordon and percy. Thanks for mentioning me😁
My favorite Thomas and Friends merchandise line is Motorized, Trackmaster and Tomy Plarail. My very first Trackmaster item that I ever owned for 10 years is the Risky Rails Bridge Drop remember playing that set and I have the same set despite that I don't have the 2010 version of Thomas because I destroyed it, but aside from that I enjoy the set and I haven't collecting Tomy and Trackmaster and even some recent ones even to this day.

11:20 that's not diapet's fault, that's just how the CGI models are scaled, which is what the diapet models are based on
Epic
The ONE thing I'll give the adventures line (and by extension ertl) is that for filming...hecking awesome. As you said, they're lighter, and you don't have to worry about having a breakaway.
Can’t explain it but sonic music is literally perfect for background music
Plarail feels as if my childhood never left me. (After Trackmaster 2014 took it)
Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always wanted the classic Tomy Plarail items, but I never collected them since…
0:23 Thomas: Haha, jokes on you gordon I have your tender. Gordon: oh the igdignity
The Thomas & Friends toys I collected in my childhood are Take Along/Take N Play (my favorite), Tomy/Plarail/Trackmaster, MegaBloks and Minis.
Take along will always be my favourite.
As someone who is getting a 2003 plarail edward for christmas, i agree with you to the end of time about plarail being the best.
I love your Video I love Tomy and the werid brio Thomas toys hate all engines go toys with a passion because they are so boring but you are right they do look like what they look like in the show
The take alongs was my childhood and my favorite
I really love the take along section, that was comedy
That is why I only collect motorized engines because I get to see them run and this video brings me the nostalgia but anyway I also did play that web game is fun to put the pieces and the action canyon
"For every Oliver, there's a Nia And Lexi" once I understood this... I CACKLED 💀
I have some Di Avo models and I only found the name out today. I always wondered what they were called. Like no joke. When they came up I pointed to the screen.
I've bought a Diepet Thomas online this year with Percy, Gordon and James are available in another store. Planning to buy Gordon next then Hiro (if I can find one), followed Percy and James Other merch I collect are Tomix, Tomy, Tomica and Bachmann HO scale.
7:05 I remember being on this website a lot. I more so remembered the Lego Duplo from an old KZread video I can’t remember much of aside from the characters.
I owned Golden Bear, Brio and Ertl ones. Never knew about the talking Golden Bear ones until later, but I remember being upset that James's wheels weren't black that I actually colored them black with a sharpie. Ertl ones couldn't even turn properly as they were all rigid and didn't have any moving side rods. I had the old Brio, the ones with the more spoked wheels. Had quite a few of them too. I also had two giant ones where in Percy you could put shapes in the top and the eyes moved as the toy was pushed. Thomas came with Annie and Clarabel where you could remove the coach roofs and put things inside.
3:52 oh hey that’s ironic, earlier today I was going through my attic and was looking at the stuff from this MegaBlox set that I had and yeah that models do look a little off but I don’t think it’s really that bad
This video was great, I laughed at Jakey’s part, but he does make a few points. But I love this video. Definitely a great video because this is what Thomas was kinda known for. I for sure agree with your number one, Tomy/Plarail/trackmaster. They are definitely iconic and bring the magic of the show to life with the accuracy of the faces and bodies and the fact they can move on their own with the help of a battery and a switch *insert Nintendo Switch click here* is certainly a smart and a commendable one. It’s sad that the quality Thomas toys took a major drop, with the exception of 2022 Wooden Railway. We’ll possibly never have a great Thomas toy line ever again, but OMG when 90s and the 2000s came around, haha what a time for Thomas and his fans. As those two decades were the best years for Thomas merchandise, and we’ll always remember the glory days of Thomas merchandise.
I say that big with Big Adventures has a lot of artistic nature like the animators want to get creative with making these wacky episodes
Congratulations on getting 6000 subscribers

I like the idea behind that. It sure makes them feel like the Railway Series.
This is a very good video. I really much like it and I like your ranking of your the toys, but I have one question if that one shot of that Thomas wooden railway promo with that TV a Percy Percy looks so cursed looks like he’s Slenderman or something I don’t know if you haven’t seen it look at it
I actually bought that exact Departing Now Thomas in 15:31, I got it from Kaikki.
This is an awesome video, I'd rank hornby with bachmann but that's about it Also your pfp is missing the front wheel so the siderod goes nowhere
For trackmaster push along, they should’ve made the narrow gauge engines Enlarge them a little cause they’ll still be scale to the trackmaster trains
Happy Christmas
Tomy and trackmaster are so perfect
I love the video bro
7:21 “Uhm actually they made Harold and Cranky did you not know that??????????” -🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 Jokes aside, this is pretty good, hope we get more videos like this
I can hardly agree with all of this. I super love classic tomy/hit/Trackmaster toys, wooden railway, take a long/play, they're my favorite merchandise that I grew up with, and yes I remember playing that Thomas and friends website long time ago as a kid
Your back
Take along is king
The best era of Thomas & Friends toys is the 2000s to early 2010s. The mid 2010s is when the brand begins to crumble.
Also I adore Tomy/Plarail/Hit Toys to the max, especially with their massive variety of characters and rolling stock. Although the flaws without a doubt are that most of the engines don't have a front coupling which is obviously noticeable, and whenever they do have a front coupling it just mostly the Ringing in Tekero models also made by Plarail, however they made one exception with the motorized Thomas which managed to have a front coupling and not only that but had the ability to move backwards and forwards, which that Thomas was released to co-inside the movie we don't talk about for good reasons. Anyways the set is the search and rescue set from Plarail which this exclusive Thomas was released in, however as of now it's pretty hard to obtain especially for a reasonable price due to how rare it is and also because of the fact it's the only time they ever released a motorized engine with not only a front coupling but also has a backwards forwards feature hence it makes that Thomas famous for what it is and hopefully I can get it one day if I do get lucky, but that won't be for god knows how long so yeah, that's one of the flaws, I apologize if this is too long but you get the idea. Anyways my other flaw with this range is how the way they released most twin characters, mainly of how Tomy did it, like for instance they make the first twin easily obtainable for a good price but make the other only exlusive in 1 set in Japan and nowadays will cost you a lot in the aftermarket, so yeah it's just rather frustrating but thankfully I managed to get lucky ordering a Tomy Douglas for a good price a while back and he was in near mint condition so yeah that is neat, but I still need to get Tomy Bill because he is on the same category as Douglas, like granted they were finally released in 2006 though via the Motor Road and Rail Range (both in the UK and US wise) 8 years after Donald and 5 years after Ben, yeah pretty ridiculous but otherwise though solid twin characters. So yeah those are my main gripes but other than that Tomy still did well in nearly every area imaginable but nowadays they are just kinda slumping but oh well just is what it is so yeah, with that being said this is my ted talk and me signing out.
Noice kids toys play footage there!
If you say take along is a very good range, i agree with you, here are my reasons: 1. Closed wheels; they sound good on touch (even if early take n play characters have them, the sounds of touching them are not as good) 2. Character faces; all of them refer to the model series faces (i think) 3. The cubic magnets; they take less space 4. Character cards, i dont know why 5. Wheels from some characters, notably the wheel color, such as duncan's white wheels 6. Faces for characters like donald and douglas are just AMAZING 7. Metallic characters, there shouldve been a metallic donald and douglas 8. Varieties of characters; Splatter, Dodge Victor, Boco and Bertram shouldve existed But i will still stay with any good opinion i have; my favortie type of merch is the motorized characters
18:03 Broooo I thought I was the only one 🤣
That Thomas game website you mentioned brought me so much nostalgia it's not even funny

Hello There My Friend!
My top three favourite Thomas toys are wooden railway ertl and Trackmaster.
you should make a video about diesel 10 i feel like he doesn’t get much love nowadays
I actually prefer Trackmaster Revolution for a number of reasons. 1: It’s not as loud. 2: It’s much faster and can hold more engines. 3: The tracks were genius! (yes, even the Super Station stuff) 4: The models looked pretty cool. 5: The trains can go up hills much easier now.
