    I'm pretty sure we all understand that cranberries are just more convenient you never have to replant them for the entire season and just grab some sprinklers don't have to water and you don't have to plant anymore the rest of the season unlike those pumpkins

  • @cullenlatham2366

    @cullenlatham2366

    10 ай бұрын

    sure, but most of those points barely hold up in comparison. Sprinklers? they benefit both. dont need to replant? is 1-3 harvests really worth the small headache of replanting (at least until you become stubborn with seed makers. *sarcasm* tooootally not projecting). Both have benefits, but replanting is countered by harvesting, with cranberries taking more time to harvest overall, exponentially increasing with yield.

  • @cullenlatham2366

    @cullenlatham2366

    7 ай бұрын

    @@viperreal9184 and i am not denying that point, even if it doesnt show the full picture. I was pointing out the "contradictions" and the equivalent factor on the other side to show the difference is much smaller than it first appears. Heck, if we are talking exclusively about profit and the cost of replanting, then we also need to consider the extra yield of mega crops making up for, at least in part, needing to re-buy seeds with the profit from the harvest, even more so when the farm is built around the pattern in which mega crops grow. And again, someone as stubborn as me might not even "re-buy" seeds once seed makers enter the equation, which only makes matters more complicated as you trade a monetary profit cut for a time deficit. The first time restocking seeds will be the worst, but after converting an entire harvest into seeds, you likely already have a full field's worth of backup seeds ready, and continuing the cycle only requires breaking down half or less of the next harvest (in part decided by "failure" luck and just how big your stockpile already is). The time deficit is somewhat offset by the fact where you can prepare the next set of seeds while the current one is growing, but that wont realistically happen until the 3rd harvest in a cycle of building up the stockpile.

    Consider: Salmence makes a lot of videos for casual players, not speedrunners. Perhaps pumpkins are good for making money if you're needing a "lot" (by early game standards) very quickly, but from a casual perspective, it's easy to set up cranberries with sprinklers and preserves jars to make lots and lots over time, with very little upkeep necessary. I'm just saying, it might not be an either or situation

    poor seanie got no points for pumpkin soup being a highly valuable skull cavern food (its not all that hard to befriend robin while befriending linus anyway). it stacks with triple expresso/garlic potion and presents 1 more luck than spicy eel. also since cows are mega easy to get in your standard run its incredibly easy to make T_T also there should be points awarded for pumpkins being one of the 3 coveted giant crops that expert stardew valley farm designers almost always have on display. but nearly no one seriously uses cranberries as a design theme.

    Cranberries are great for the greenhouse before you have access to ancient fruit since it continues to produce after the first harvest

    could someone please tell me the name of the song at approximately 1:08? I'm guessing it's from Persona but can't remember the title no matter how hard I try😭

    I love crops that require you to not have to replant them. Hence why end game wise..its anticent fruit for me vs starfruit. Or at least end game for the mid-way yes Starfruit and maybe first year if you're a competitive gamer.

    I prefer cranberries just because I play with friends and they take the game far more casually than me, and cranberries fits our combined play style. Plus I like to diversify income with different machines, and I usually do not have enough kegs or jars to process everything, and cranberries just provide consistent, frequent income. On solo playthroughs I do pumpkins. If I do not reach 500k by summer for my pumpkin empire I'm not playing right

    in the first challenge, it was for a way to get milk for pumpkin soup without having to build a barn and raise a cow. in the second challenge, i think seanie was also trying to get it for soup? pumpkin soup is one of sebastian's loved gifts, and his birthday's in midwinter, so it would be a nice way to get hearts. timing just didn't work out. that or mr. dew was just stuck in milk mode, you never really know with this man :P

    Sandy will give you milk when you talk to her sometimes! (Apparently specifically on Saturdays, which I didn't know). Seanie was relying on that gifted milk rather than gathering resources and money for a barn and a cow. :)

    the big failing point of pumpkins is that you don’t get covered in spiders harvesting them.
