Great repair! I didn't think my "Project Scorpio" was that old. Hopefully I can find a Series X before the next console generation releases.

Haha yeah they're getting pretty old now. My kids' have the series s but I wouldn't mind a series x, just too expensive lol
Going to sound so stupid but what readings should i get from the esd chip when checking for shorts? My TDP158 is reading 280 so its stuffed. Great video!!!
Sir you think is possible to put some kind of heatsink on Retimer or maybe a thick thermal pad to use the cpu heatsink... if possible that may help to cooldown the chip and last longer right?
the lion laughing was great. and you got to watch out for them jumping chips

Haha thanks mate. Got to add a bit of humour sometimes. I like to leave stuff like that in because it shows if doesn't always go perfectly
Retimer off a one x on a one s will work ?
How much do you charge? I would really love my Xbox x to be up and running
Hello sir can you please tell me the full name of the thing you just repaired
spooky thought to myself better look at fixing my xbox x and you was there fixing one :)
Yea just got the no signal issue. It's kind of old and hard drive seems ok it doesn't shut down. Worked last night this morning no signal. Pulled it apart. Cleaned it all best I could. Put it back together still no signal. Gonna call it a loss. Probably going to a pc or next Gen. Unfortunate we had some good times for a long time. Is there any way to recover the games?
Hi can you help I have a Xbox one x with no video out put I have changed the hdmi timer chip and changed the port with new one but still no video thanks mark and I had the hard dive connected as well any ideas
Hi my Xbox has just done this but I have a ssd drive inside which I would to keep would you be able to fix my console?
Have you thought about using mouse electronics for the components
@TheCod3r

Yeah I do use them buy they're out of stock on retimers and we don't know the part number for ESD chips on the One X so cannot buy them
heat the pads with flux when it flows pop on the ic and your done. Please try next time, Phil. Less heat stress for the ic.
@gamerX-wk7ct

that can work but you can easily get a cold solder joint . anytime you heat something up and put a cold component on it can cause problems later on to
Hello mate, had the same issue on my Xbox One X with no display and HDD is OK. My retimer chip is not showing any shorts but it reads 42 ohms. It looks like that is the issue if we are expecting between 10-20, but besides that, I am finding shorts all over the CPU capacitors. I cannot find anywhere on youtube that someone found a dead CPU on this thing, so can it be something else? Will reflow help? I don have rebolling station unfortunately.
How much?
What happened to C43? It was there until 13:50 then after you finish re-flowing the chip it was gone but I couldn't see it anywhere.

Sounds like a possible issue with the HDMI redriver buddy. It's hard to say for sure but usually when it flickers it's down to a signal issue which goes from the redriver
Don't always trust crystal mark though i have one that reads "Good" but its way past its life span and it randomly has connection issues power is fine just getting close to dying its almost at 35000 power on hours. Just a tip from a regular joe.

Cheers mate, I have had a few people mention they had false readings lately from CDI. Usually if I am having issues with a hard drive I'll try replacing it even if CDI reports it as good

@@TheCod3r I totally understand haha i just wanted to share cuz i usually trust crystal mark myself ahah anyway i love the content and love learning!
Did I hear that right you corrected yourself and called it a redriver. I also heard you call it a encoder lol
got an original Xbox One for my fiancé, doesn’t say no signal but it doesn’t display anything. HDMI port looks perfectly fine (no damaged pins that i can see), and my TV shows that an Xbox One is plugged in when I select input, but nothing is being displayed. i tried putting it into safe mode, but when i press both at the same time sometimes the eject button doesn’t work and other times the power button doesn’t work. the sync button is also broken, any ideas? thank you!

my Xbox One S works perfectly fine on the 3 monitors and 2 TV’s i have tested it on, but the Xbox One i bought doesn’t show anything.
🛑🛑 My Xbox one s + 102 error . No let me doing FACTORY RESET go back again and again to TROUBLESHOOT and when using my USB + OSU1 only reach 1% Upgrade after 50 minutes and go OFF 🛑🛑
Fix mines
Is it just me or does anyone else have the audio out of sync?
"These hard drives are old now". Me "I'm still running two original Xbox's with their original 8GB drives just fine". What you should have said is "people abuse their tech and it dies". lol The bit with the lion got me. lol

Not necessarily. The Seagate Rosewood, the HDD Microsoft put into the modern Xboxes, WILL fail. Apparently their design is flawed. Louis Rossmann made a video on the topic a while back. Plus, the HDDs in modern consoles have to do far more reading and writing than the ones in the old consoles ever had to. Think about downloading a game and its updates. That's 100GB storage used. For the original Xbox, the games didn't have updates (I don't think) and all the HDD had to do was store save data. In one year, a modern Xbox will write far more data than an original Xbox will write in 20 hence the drives fail way faster.

@@fcallum77 haven't had a single failure of any hard drive so far. Except one which was hit by a hammer for an experiment. I'm still running an 80mb drive from the 90s in an amiga. New ones do have to do more but they are also more resilient. They have an mtbf of many many years.
@TheCod3r

Those newer drives are definitely flawed. They fail far too often buy Callim is technically correct that they do have to do a hell of a lot more reads and writes than a HDD from an OG

@@TheCod3r It's a shame this generation of consoles hasn't get up to speed yet. They were only meant to last 5-7 years so i guess that's their justification. But still they should last longer.
