that's because it probably was relative to high-level WCT standards. props to Xavia but the fact that THIS is how Kyle Soderman's WR gets beaten is just disappointing. Xavia literally just jogged around and didn't even go full sprint against any of these guys while Kyle's 6 streak left him too exhausted to get the 7th.

For the first time in WCT, we can now use the term "ONE SHOT a team" What a mad and ridiculous play this was. I immediately went to Kyle's first 6 record and I can tell you that Fluidity kinda played same as TryHardCollective back then. It is not that they are bad as athletes, it is just they lack tactics and not really fmailiar with the game, also unlucky for them they encountered one of the bestst to teach them a harsh lesson: GET GUD.

I don't know man, at least with Kyle's match there was a chance he'd have gotten caught and he eventually did get tagged. This match almost looked staged with how bad Fluidity was. It seriously didn't look like they were even trying. Or maybe they were just too baked out of their heads to know what was going on, but this was NOT a good match since Xavia was never even in danger of being tagged once. This might have been one of the worst matches I've seen in WCT because of how bad Fluidity was.
@traceurs619

@@thelaziestluke7199 I feel the only reason you guys looked the worst was merely due to 2 reasons… 1. They put you guys up against Xavier of all people on their team 1st😂 and 2. Most rookie teams got their spotlight by going against other rookie teams from the start, you guys went against an OG from the jump. And for that, you’ve earned my respect. Only 1 way to go from here and that’s up. Your team full-sent a lot of tag attempts and made it easy for him to evade and catch a breath. Also didn’t look like you guys were trying to manipulate Xavia’s movements to corner him, you only went where he lead YOU, which kept that distance. As the chaser, you need to be the hunter, you make the evader go where YOU want him to go. In the early WCT days, people would have that stalemate in the corner and waste time for an easy W, then chasers like Andy, Seth W, and Frank came in with the speed to rush that corner, cancelling the stalemate and not allowing them to rest. Then it’s a nice beautiful hunt from there;) muahaha. Can’t wait to see how you guys have improved next time

I feel the tryHardCollective were much more explosive players in that match-up. Not so technically sound as you said, it was just like they were just chasing a dog that loved to run/play...but at least they gave him a run for his money.
It’s that same technique of running that looks slower than it actually is. It’s in the body language. People who haven’t experienced it aren’t prepared for it. Dancing Mark has it. Mini Soderman has it. Xavia has it

There's something very unique about this guy's approach, great evaders like Kyle Soderman were able to keep their distance with their oppornents by constantly looking back to know where they were and move accordingly, but this is the FIRST time that I actually see an evader dictating the pace AND direction of the chase instead of just anticipating,that is elite level, it might look simple as it often does when great athletes do something ( everyone think they can be Tom Brady until they grab a football ) but the guy is phenomenal.

Really this just shows the inequality in the sport so early in its existence. If you've never been on the quad before, you do have a disadvantage. But how have they not watched all the videos WCT has to after in 1 weekend and see all the high eq areas, effective tactics, and player strategies? We are in a weird era of the sport where new people are coming in without the ability to have much if any experience on the equipment. Imagine sending a team into the NFL that has never stepped on a field before, held a ball, or padded up- but they played catch in the back yard for a few years so they figured theyd be fine.

8is the maximum, because if u think about it, 16 chases in total. Lets assume xavia started evading at 1st chase instead of chasing, it means he spent 8 chases evading and the 9th being caught. The score will then at best be 8-7, so the 9th chase (aka the “1 being caught” chase) does not need to happen. And so the game ends at 8-0 after chase 8.

Definitely would have and almost has happened in the US lol, but yeah, not enough teams for full comps every single time. This is their first match of the competition, quarter finals is also round 1. As of right now they're taking on whoever makes a good enough submission, which is dope that lots of different people get to compete, but we do end up with some underperforming teams because of that. The national comps are cool because you get to see stuff like this, then international comps cut out the less competent teams and you'll get to see how hard it actually is to get more than 1 or 2 evasions on skilled players

I think you're misunderstanding the claim of this record being "unbeatable" - it doesn't mean no one will ever do it again. It is true, however, that no one will ever score more than 8 points in a game - because it's just not technically possible. Thus, this record can be MATCHED but not BEATEN ;)

@@SimonDoer I don't see that happening anytime soon. I actually reached to the WCT creators around the time of WCT3/WCT4 with some ideas on how to improve scoring because back then quite a few matches were decided by a single point difference - or worse - sudden death. To me it just looked like scoring an evasion was too hard, resulting in too much luck involved to win a game. They replied, stating that they were pondering something similar before (my idea was basically about scoring points every 5 seconds of a chase as an evader, with a bonus for a "complete" evasion) but ultimately they decided to keep it simple and focus more on improving the quad instead - which has since proved to be the right thing to do (mainly adding some high EQ areas / buffing the existing ones) - we've started seeing teams scoring way more evasions, resulting in more exciting matches and decisive victories. Anyway, I think they've layed out a solid foundation for the sport which I'm pretty sure will only get changed with minor tweaks over time - nothing as substantial as changing the number of rounds, scoring or the number of players per team... One reason for that would be consistency - being able to compare the performances of the teams/athletes in different WCT events as they all share the same basic ruleset (except for the 1vs1 Backyard Flight Club). It shows how the sport evolves (skill-wise).
