    SOMETHING I MISSED: APPARENTLY THEY LAID OFF 40 MORE PEOPLE EARLIER THIS YEAR. THIS IS ALMOST AN 7TH OF THEIR EMPLOYEES GONE. I'm genuinely so angry. I've talked about this publicly for almost a year now ever since the Cashgrab video. Every step of the way,I got ridiculed and hated, saying I was overblowing things. Well congrats to me,I'm proven right by almost 100 people losing their livelihoods. I hate this,I hate what this game has become and I hate how complacent this community was in it, shutting down any feedback that saw through the corpo bullshit.

    It's worth keeping in mind that BHVR are a big studio and publishing house, that works on many projects besides Dead by Daylight. It's very likely a lot of those 95 people were involved on DBD, but it's not telling the whole story. I also don't think it's fair to say this is a result of the game failing, the whole game's industry is restructuring and getting used to post-covid consumerism and I guess they employed too many new people during that time. My heart goes out to any of the talented people at BHVR that lost their jobs and I really hope they're able to get back to their feet soon. But this in no way implies the death of the game at all.

    I do not think this is a COVID thing at alll personally. Too many people hired too late or too early for it to be the case. If it's COVID, you also wouldn't ever cite "unprecedented competition" and cut DBD staff.

    You need to realize many gaming companies started hiring large amounts of staff during the beginning of the pandemic and now they don't need those people anymore because people are returning to their lives and not playing video games all day anymore. The unprecedented competition you to refer to, is themselves. They hired alot during the beginning and now they don't need them anymore. That's all. The game has 35k online right now, as usual. Nothing is dying and if it does it'll be because of their dumb in game decisions, which they've been doing for years now and there are still 35k people online. Nobody is going anywhere until another game takes over. Simple as that.

    Console Player here and Friday the 13th Player. I lost my fun in DBD a long while ago. You can have fun in different ways in DBD, but is not more the same. My last time I had fun in DBD was, when I played with friends and we just hide. Still saving but not doing Gens. I don´t like the part doing Gens. Looping is not my strength. I like Friday the 13th, it will reach the end of this year, I will not say it is better then DBD, but I just like the interactions. You can play F13 like DbD or not. You chasing the killer or the killer is chasing you. Escape/Winning in multiplies ways (Killing the Killer, Escaping via Police, Escaping via Car) including with the Voice Chat (Trolling, Laughing, Raging). The players: They could be the noobs, they could have the knowledge, they troller, they teamer, they the best. You can have everything and this can change the gameplay a lot. When you have teamer, they get you killed or not, you happy for the next game "to get the revenge or they just leave". But like killing them as killer or leaving them alone or blocking them or driving them over. So much randomness could be there. I play F13 with a mind to reach, and it could be changed a lot because of the interactions. But for DBD, when I play survivor first I think how hard are the gens to do with the type of killer, then how good could I loop the killer, thinking about escaping via door if gens done or hatch if this was possible. But there is almost no randomness to it. For the next game, like getting revenge, there is a low chance to get the same person. But then thinking how hard the gens etc. And what I mean how hard: About the killer, about the mates, you could get the best killer or survivor and that changes the hardness, so maybe the teammate is looping the killer, then you doing the gen, or the killer is the best, then I would be dead, next game, thinking the same about it. How hard, etc. The other-games: I played the other games too, except Evil Dead. TCM: played the first month or weeks, loosing interest. Killer Clown: Played it for 2 days, I feel a little bored. The game is fine, but it not hook me up. You right DBD has literally no competition.

    Alien, Chucky, Alan Wake, Dungeons & Dragons... Arent player base declining? If players aren't increasing, it's a failure. If optimistic players could let go of their wishful thinking and look at reality, they would understand that the lack of growth is a big problem. At that time, DBD will die.

    Well when you spend years catering to the whiny, entitled, minority of the game and make the game insufferable to new players and veterans decide to leave because it isn't worth playing anymore, what the hell do you expect to happen? I'm glad killers finally got their bully simulator. No idea who the hell they're going to play against, but good for them I guess. Veterans have been leaving in droves for months now and new people quit after a couple of games. I stopped playing this garbage over a year ago after putting 7.5k hours into it. It's a shitty game with an insanely toxic community and incompetent devs. This game and studio deserves to go down. Good riddance.

    This video is just dramamongering, no? BHVR has 1300 employees, the 95 layoffs were not stated to be working on the development of Dead by Daylight. Layoffs are bad, sure; but i think they could mostly be contributed to the pandemic and we're only just now seeing the effects. Most of your videos are based on DBD going in a downward spiral with the majority of the video titles having to do with bad updates. I think this comes from a place of burnout rather than actually paying attention to the games stats. DBD has retained the same player-count and hasnt seen any dip. But I guess if this is the type of content you enjoy creating then uh... Have fun?

  • @maybekizuati

    @maybekizuati

    22 күн бұрын

    No,not really. As for the burnout point - nah. My enjoyment for DBD lowered exactly after updates 6.1.0 and 6.7.0 which had lasting negative effects + MMR making my solo games a nightmare. If you pay attention to my last few uploads you'll see that I covered the developer update for 8.0.0 PTB EXTREMELY favourably. I didn't think DBD was going to die throughout any time in my back catalogue,but you know,clicky titles and all that. This is a different case however - as I said in the video "same player count" while dropping 20 trillion licenses a minute is a bad,not good sign. Previously licenses significantly increased the playercount ,now we get gigantic licenses in Horror that do nothing - that's bad. The layoffs also affected DBD,we know that for a fact - I assume you're basing your wording off the BHVR press release,which mind you,also stated some magical "unprecedented competition". It's bullshit.
