Yeah that’s true The of ivory coast are mix with Guans, Ga-adangbe , Krobo Ewes and kru people.
@kwawkwansah2452
10 ай бұрын
It is only the Baoule that migrated. The rest of the Akan in Cote d'Ivoire have been there for as long as when the first Akan arrived around 1,000 years ago. The reason they are distributed over two countries is due to the europeans drawing artificial lines of seperation. It is not only the Akan many other ethnic groups were divided by them. Its seems too many of us are oblivious to the facts !
@paultrs2
10 ай бұрын
@@kwawkwansah2452Baoule are not the largest Akan tribe in ivory coast that’s why you know more about them , the Brong gyaman , the nzema the Anyi migrated other tribe call akan lagunaire (lagoon) such as Akye , abbey , Abidji and so on are more mix with other tribes in Ghana like Guan , Ga-adangbe , krobo and Ewe those people migrated to togo those people migrated before the Akan because of the pressure of akwamu kingdom.
@kwawkwansah2452
10 ай бұрын
@@paultrs2 your response is not clear and also presumptuous. I never said the Baoule are the largest group, the Baoule are unique in that they are a break away group from Asante. I know very little about the Baoule, but i do know they migrated to their present location very late and are probably the only group that did so in that direction. However other groups never migrated to Cote d'Ivoire as they settled there long before Cote d'Ivoire or Ghana ever existed. if i am not mistaken the Gyaman straddled areas in both countries as did the first Akan Kingdom Bono. So it is very wrong to say they moved from Ghana, there was no Ghana at the time. The lands they live on today are the same lands as far back as the time of Bono or at least the early 14 century when groups broke away from Bono The Nzema tradition even suggests they came along the river Nzi and from the Comoɛ river extended eastward which suggests if anything they settled in parts of todays Cote d'Ivoire first. I know for many other groups this is also true the Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana borders are false divisions. Nzemaland is in both Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana and has been since its inception. Hence it is a fallacy to say they came from Ghana as Nzema Maanlɛ predates either country. The Ewe, Ga-Adangme (Krobo is a subgroup) did not migrate to Ghana before Akan. Although the Guans were settled in many areas of present day Ghsna before the Akan and were either absorbed or displaced. Bɛ fɛlɛ me kwaw Melɛ Nzemanli !
I was not expecting this. That is true.

What happened?
The Ivory Coast would be even more beautiful if france wasn’t bleeding it dry. Yes it is the largest exporter of cocoa but bc of horrible treaties, they have to sell to france severely underpriced and france gets to then sell it at market value for huge profits. France owns so much in this country and they’re bleeding it dry. Also a lot of foreigners are causing the price of land and houses to skyrocket. Ivory Coast has so much potential from the people to the resources but if it cannot get out from underneath france, there will be little progress. As beautiful as it is and rich there’s ALOT of poverty that could easily be eradicated. Colonization destroyed Africa.
