    Definitely possible, reminds me of an old show called Jericho where Cheyenne becomes the new capital of a newly formed republic. Though, in the show, Cheyenne was run by a corrupt corporation masquerading as a government. Hopefully that's not the case here.

    That dude saying code runs DAOs is guessing what a dao is. That is not at all what a dao is and its not autonomous. They use decentralized governance and the comunity runs and governs the DAO via token voting. If you own the governance token you get one vote on every proposal. Autonomous is a terrible name and it does not fit. Running a dao is very involved. Hundreds of proposals and everything is voted on by the comunity. Then we have to implement the decisions. Autonomous should never have been put in the name. Just decentralized organization. Its run very similar to a union. Instead of a board running the company its all the stock holders, and we can have this control because of blockchain tecknology.

  • @mandisaw

    Wyoming is a bifurcated economy - you've got a lot of poor people who need services, but vote Republican, and a handful of very rich people who don't want to pay taxes, and so vote Republican. And then add the various Native populations, with their own political & economic struggles. They probably get a "taste" from all these crypto companies, plus jobs, which is why they are pushing this so hard.

  • @canadian97

    Around 5:30 she concludes that digital assets are property, claiming that this represents the technology, but it doesn't at all. In terms of tangible assets, you really only "own" information that is your private key. While that private key can authenticate you to change state representing an asset transfer, it doesn't mean you ever have possession of any tokens, or they were ever moved into our out of your possession (as defined by an account that you control with a private key). This is because the assets are controlled by another private key, the one from the smart contract defining the token. So, the property is really on the smart contract, unless you have "destroyed keys" or a "coin" not a "token" that represents a l1 blockchain and is not governed by a changeable contract. Stoked for all the work, but this really shows that the people writing the legislation may not have the tech knowledge to understand what is a blockchain or how the assets on them work, not to mention the vast differences between an EVM and an EOSIO based chain.

  • @DouglasButner

    @DouglasButner

    Overall, the general ignorance can be defined as an assumption that "blockchain" is one thing, and therefore all of crypto operates the same way. For one example of why this is dangerous, there's some blockchains that allow for contracts to be modified, and others that aren't. This is a HUGE consideration, as ASSETS are OWNED by CONTRACTS and PERMISSIONED to be transferred around by that contract. There's assets backed on other assets. There's Liquidity pools. There's so much that they aren't accounting for. Also, not all crypto is POW (needs a lot of electricity)

    What about the energy use of Bitcoin?

    The question is how we produce energy not how much energy we consume if you’re concerned about emissions there’s the option of nuclear that produces 0> tons of Co2 The benefits of bitcoin Justifies it’s energy usage as it’s stands bitcoin get about 40 percent to almost 75 percent from renewables a lot of that energy would go to waste otherwise

    @@Bsdacres Ok but the Purpose of Blockchain is to to make it as Decentralised as possible that can only really happen in POW also it’s far more difficult to Manufacture the Equipment and get access to Energy to gain 51% of the network so it’s more Immune to attacks ware a POS network could be hacked by some teenager or a some country could hold 51% of the networks tokens and Basically use it like the US Uses the dollar so Essentially POS become less Decentralised over time Don’t get me wrong I hold other cryptos but bitcoin is the only network that has Proven itself and actually I believe over time that bitcoin will become the base layer and the likes of ETH will become layer 2 on top of bitcoin if you understand all that So people complain about Energy usage but like I said we can use as much Energy as we what but it’s the Process on how we get that Energy is the problem and that need to be fixed
