So what happened when Subaru blacked out is this: Petra was spot dead when rubble collapsed on them. Ram cut her arm off because Subaru was holding it too tightly. Ram gave Subaru to Patrasche before she died and Patrasche flung Subaru as far as she could before dying.

Subaru throwing Ram happened in the definitive timeline, not in a Return by Death, so the Witch wouldn't grab Subaru's heart for mentioning it. The reason Ram forgot is because that event was tied to Rem, so it was erased by Glutonny's ability.

Gluttony is perfect at erasing memories of Rem. Stuff that's *related* to Rem (like Ram remembering that she was being thrown but not who she was being thrown at) isn't as perfect. If it was perfect, eventually everybody would forget everything because so much stuff is connected. BTW, the whale's erasure of Rem may not be exactly the same. Even Rem's *personal possessions* were gone when Subaru went to Ram and Rem's room. Something going on or just a writing mistake. Maybe Ram wondered why there was extra stuff in her room and put it in storage.

​@@ComradeArthurSins can appear in different ways. For example, Gluttony can be explained as eating too fast or eating too much. In Re:Zero, it might be a similar situation; same sin but different form. The White Whale erases from existence (and can make someone go mad). Lye (the archbishop) consumes the memories and names. Both do effectively the same as Gluttony and the world is concerned but in different ways. Btw, I read the novel but everything I said can be inferred from the anime so no spoilers.

Beatrice promised to protect Subaru in a previous loop (the one that he ended by jumping off the cliff), not in this one.

Also: yeah, Ram came very close to remembering something that she shouldn't--Subaru tossing her at Rem as a distraction so that he could bonk Rem on the horn and snap her out of her fury. It's not really clear *why* Ram remembers that; it could be because the tossing part of it happened to her, directly, and she only vaguely remembers it happening because the context of that event would involve remembering Rem.

Beatrice's contract to protect Subaru only happened in a reset timeline (the one where Rem died to the curse and Subaru jumped off a cliff).

The Oath Frederica talks about has to do with the sanctuary, not Elsa. Elsa's promise was about the 1st/2nd ep, about returning for Subaru's guts

2:54 Garf didn't have a change of heart this time it would be more accurate to say he had a change of heart last time. A lot of people seem to cling to the actions of people in Subaru's past lives but the people in those lives don't exist in his current life they are a culmination of the choices he made in that life erased when he restarts. Just as an example I've noticed a lot of reactors shit on Otto for the longest time because of his actions during the initial white whale encounter but first they don't understand the context of that encounter(seemingly even after the show explains) and second that Otto doesn't exist the Otto present has had different interactions with Subaru thus making their relationship different.

If I remember right in the final scene, Subaru was about to enter Rem's room, that's why he says her name before opening the door, but Betty changes the door to her domain saving him in a bad time

I think they have it correct. Subaru was willing to reset, but Beatrice pulled him through her doorway and therefore saved him.

@@brycet93 I read the light novel but it was a while ago so I didn't remember exactly, but I went to check it out and that's really it. Subaru was about to enter Rem's room, that's why he says her name before opening the door, but Betty changes the door to her domain saving him in a bad time
