Big respect for being accountable for the possible mistakes. It is hard to admit it publicly.
Thank you for owning up to your verbal barrage on Becky. I know it was very difficult to lose two precious emu’s. I am glad you talked it out and are ok. It takes a real man to own his stuff. I appreciate you both ❤ Things happen and you just have to move forward. I am glad you were successful with the two you have. Your example will have a big influence on your children. Take care ☺️

RIP, little one! It was an accident, they happen. It's how we learn. Don't beat yourselfs up over it. Happy Mother's Day, Becky, and all the other moms here.
I have seen where people have gotten natural feather dusters that they suspended from the top of the tub for baby chicks to tuck into. It seemed to work really well.

Hello everyone! Happy Mother’s Day to all 🫶🏼 I am so sorry to hear about the 2 babies… that’s heartbreaking to go through. The one may have been preventable, but you guys always do the best you can. We learn more from failing than we do succeeding… and life on a farm will always have hard life lessons. The children learn so much from you, they’re learning right along with you. These will be life lessons that will carry on with them for the rest of their lives as well. Hugs 🫂 Love you guys!
I think Becky was right to move the emu to have more room, the ripped towel was the unfortunate fluke, glad you guys worked it out, there will be many more opportunities in the future for babies! 💗🙏💗🕊️
So sad to hear this… sending love from Texas ❤ Hopefully we’re able to prevent something like this from happening in the future, everybody makes mistakes but the important thing is that we learn from these mistakes. And two baby emus is already a great blessing ❤️
Condolences and good luck my man. Don’t let it get to you. Rip emu.
Rest in Peace lil one. And hey, it is okay... mistakes are made
R.I.P little one, Jake you and your family are amazing, your doing a fantastic job and should be proud 👏 ❤
RIP little emu. Becky is the most wonderful Mom. I hope she had a lovely Mother’s Day!
It wasn’t anybody’s fault. It was a freak accident. I agree with Becky. I think if you left it with the dad it would have died like the other one. I’m really sorry y’all lost two, but you have two healthy ones to love and watch grow up. God bless you all. Happy Mothers Day Becky!!♥️🌹🌺🌷
I’m so very sorry 😢. I’m sure you both were trying to do your best for the little emu. I’m glad you talked it out too. Just remember accidents happen and that’s why they are called accidents no one was trying to harm the little guy! I love watching your channel!!
Sad to lose the two little ones , hopefully next year will be better, you learn more each year. 🙏🏼🙋🏼♀️
my heart sank when i saw the towel, this is far from the first time i've seen this sort of thing happen. hindsight is an evil thing. i always say "couldve, shouldve, wouldve, *didn't* " can't go back in time, can't change it for then, but you can next time.
Now, this is the future i want to have. A big farm, With cows, chickens and everything else to it. This is my happy place.
Hey friends- so sorry for your loss. You guys do everything with so much heart it's very moving. I love how you are so earnest in trying to give your very best and that counts for alot. Failures and successes happen. We learn by our mistakes and I wish that were different but it is what it is. You have done your best and that's what is important. You are a beautiful family and a great channel. My favorite for several years now. I've been watching since you only had 2 boys and love that you share with us. God bless you all and thank you for all you do for us.
That's really sad to hear. I grew up with rats as pets and they absolutely love and need to have fabrics to tear apart and nest in. One thing you learn quickly is that you can't use fabrics that fray, like that towel you used, for them for the same reason. That and they can choke on it as well. What we do is we buy scraps of 100% fleece from the clearance racks and/or 100% fleece holiday throw blankets when they go on sale after their holiday is over (it can be really expensive otherwise) and cut them to size for the rats to use. It doesn't fray and it's also super soft, warm, and drapey. I think you may find that your chicks are much safer with it to cuddle into instead. I'm so sorry for your loss and the stress it brought.
It's nice to see how much you care. I am sorry this happened. I really hope for the best in the year to come. I hope you get more emu chicks in the future.
awe man what a horrible accident. lesson learned though, no one is perfect, and now we all know with chicks and kids and puppies and kittens that we should be careful of tattered towels! i just got a new kitten and i’m going to be checking his set up immediately
That is so sad to hear, but i think you will learn and do better from this!

Im sorry for your loss😢
I love your family! Please don’t get discouraged and thanks for explaining what happened. You and Becky set a good example of how loving couples work through hard situations.♥️
Thanks for your beautiful videos.. Greetings from Spain!!!!
Sorry to hear about your loss. I also want to thank you both for decided to do this video. It will help others. I have had it happened where one of my grown house chickens got snagged in a towel just like the one you showed that killed your emu chick. Until it happens to you, it really isn't something you think will be a hazard. Was even discussing this recently involving caged birds like cockatiels and parrots. The cords from blinds can potentially wrap around a bird and strangle them, as can even a shoe lace still on a pair of shoes, or computer cables that a bird gets behind a desk and tangles themselves up into. It is a fluke thing that happens and sadly part of the learning curb. What's good is this video of your loss might now save others who see this and now will know is a hazard to look out for.
I’m so sorry 😔. There are so many things that could happen and it’s hard to prevent them all. We love you all! I understand the heartache and frustration for all of you. Have grace with yourselves. ❤
Love you guys! So sorry that you had to go through this - thank you for sharing your journey, good and bad.
*I’m so sorry.* ❤️ *Looking forward to watching your 4 children and the two big chicks grow.*
I definitely have to side with Becky on this one. When I saw the tiny incubator you put him in I literally shouted out loud, Nooooooo! LOL. I think Becky’s desire to afford him more room was wise, just sad and unfortunate that things played out like that. Glad y’all were able to talk things out.
Howdy from west Texas! 🤠 Sorry to hear about your chick.

Agreed. Rest in peace emu.
An old Scottish proverb from the 1600’s - If wishes were horses beggars would ride. Life just happens and we roll with the punches.
Sometimes this happens with chicken when it comes to first time brooders, don't know about any other birds. They will accidentally smother or crush their chicks. Dead chicks are usually taken out of the nest, which what it looked like with the emu
I am so sorry for the loss of your emu Becky and Jake. Just don't give up just keep trying! Happy Mother's day Becky❤
It's frustrating when you try your best and you have a failure. Old towels are dangerous. We almost lost our dog 3 times over 15 years - because he constantly shredded towels and put himself in danger. Never the same towel - he was just consistent in his behaviour. Going forward - use polar fleece, or Sew/hem old towels the moment the sides let go. Then they will be safe for animals. Also avoid any knit items - one hole will release worse thread storms then the old towel.
Im so sorry y'all lost this Emu. 😢 I know its been a rough ride to hatch the Emu eggs...so it was terribly disappointing im sure. Im glad you worked it out though. I hope there will be more eggs to hatch soon!! God bless y'all!!
Thank you for sharing!
Happy Mother's Day! I am sorry for your loss. Life happens. What is done is done. Now, it is time to heal and move on. Rejoice in the success of the two that did live and remember there is always next year. Your children are getting so big. I've been watching your channel for over 6 years. Stay safe!
So sorry to hear this. May it rest in peace. Good luck😊
Human is making mistakes. Special human is one who can say I'm sorry and the one who can forgive. Great marriages can have a knock down-drag out but special great marriages survive, grow, thrive and show children HOW to be SPECIAL. GOD'S continued blessings on you all.
Good show as always thank you kindly . Happy mother's Day. I'm sorry for your loss. Don't get down think about all the people you have helped with your show. Like me I'm home bound I look forward to seeing you.
So sorry for your loss. Sending your family healing energy… so sad to see you. We know how much these little guys mean to you. 😢
I think you made the right decision even if the result was a negative one. Jake sending you a big hug brother!
Happy Mothers Day Becky! You’re an amazing mom! 💕
i remember someone saying once, if you have live stock expect dead stock, its gonna happen. Its a sad thing and every farmer will experience it, look at clarksons farm in the UK, you are gonna loose animals to what may be the most irritating things. Just keep moving and try not to dwell.
So very sorry for the loss of this baby Emu. Accidents happen. Prayers for you all!❤🙏🏼❤️✝️♥️
So sorry for your loss. First thing I learned about caring for puppies and kittens - never use towels or fabrics with shredded or loose threads because of a possibility of strangulation. Anything is possible when caring for the young.
Sorry for the lost. Now you have plan for the next batch.
So sad about your loss. It's understandable to be so upset. It's a learning thing as you grow your family of Emu's. 😊❤❤❤
I've learned so much from you guys. Thank you for your content.
thanks for presenting so real ❤
Heart breaking news I was really excited to see that chick grow big on farm but fingers crossed hopefully we will see some emu chicks again soon
I’ve been looking for a new video all week!!! I’m so sorry…. Let’s rejoice in those that have survived and pray for those that have passed. You’re doing a great job!!!
God bless you for being honest and transparent. It is a hard loss, but your relationship is worth so much more.❤
Hey as I’ve always heard and said “live and learn” that’s tough and sad for sure, but nothing you can do now but learn from it! You guys are awesome and not everyday someone raises an emu so trial and error as ya go!! Being up front like you are and explaining situations like you do and posting it is awesome and it’s great seeing that, we’re all human and unexpected bs happens! But most people don’t take accountability and acknowledge mistakes nowadays. Keep up the awesome work and videos, one of my favorite channels to watch by far since i found it years ago.
I am so sorry you lost another baby emu chick. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to have my own chickens. Eight out of 12 silkie eggs just hatched in my incubator.
Even thought you didn't have to tell us what happened, we all learn so much from it and I applaud your bravery in the midst of such a quick to comment cruel world, I want to encourage you that you have now taught us all something in sharing your vulnerabilities. I'm so sorry for the 2nd loss. Huge hug and I'm prayer for future success with the Emu's.
I'm sorry for your loss. Becky is an amazing wife & mother & farmer.
So sorry that happened, mistakes can happen sometimes, it's the only way you can learn. The fact that you were able to hatch out 4 and 2 survived is amazing though, I'm sure those 2 will continue to do well
Please don´t be so hard on yourselves. You are all doing such a good job caring for your animals. Good luck with the two young emus.
Becky, you are amazing and with out fault. You care deeply for your animals. Keep going with your gut, you are a fantastic!!!!!!! ❤❤❤
I am so sorry for the 2 losses. That is heartbreaking. But yall got two vigorous chicks. I hope yall get a passel of chicks next year.
Just remember after the heat of an argument to take a breather and just try to talk nicely. Good on you guys for sorting it out We had a dog come in and kill my flock of chickens. My boyfriend was in the office (which faces the same direction as the chicken run) he was pretty upset with himself for a long time. I didn't blame him to much but it did take me a few days to not question how he didn't hear/see them. We can oulnly do our best and sometimes we get compliant and miss something we would normally think harder on
I feel so sorry... 😢❤
Mistakes happen. Don't beat yourself up over it. You learn and move on.
It's so easy to blame someone else when we're annoyed and frustrated. Glad you sorted it out in the end.
Glad you are talking to each other and working it out. How a marriage should be and I am happy you both have that. Accidents happen and it sucks.
Very sorry for both of the losses we use squishy soft stuffed animals for our different babies that have been incubated and that seems to work good and there's no issues with them getting hurt we use a plushie that's about three times bigger than the babies I think that you should try it next time I don't think there'd be any danger and the babies love the stuffed animals.. also we keep chicken wire over the container I see that you just had a light clip on that's very dangerous to it could fall in
Happy Mother's day Becky 🌷🎁💗🤗. Awe Jeez ,I'm sorry, how were you to know😢. RIP LITTLE Bit 💔. JO JO IN VT 💞
Im so sorry for your loss 😢
Aww you two are only human beings. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. Don't take it so hard out on each other. Take it as a lesson learned and keep pushing. I have been watching you guys for so many years and I love how you're family tends to all the farm and beautiful animals. God bless you all. Remember the good outweighs the bad.
My heart breaks for your family!!
You look good KZread channel look how you have chickens and stuff like that
Hi from Poland😊 Lovely Family❤️😀 Lovely Animals ❤👍
Can't blame one another... YOUR a team... AND reasons for loss are not for us to know but to simply learn and understand that life is fragile and we are NOT in control.... I'm so deeply sorry for your loss once again.. It was neither of your fault.. JUST a fluke... what I have found with raising animals for now over 25 years if there is a way to kill themselves they will find it...
That’s so sad
You should name the baby emus Joy and Hope
So sorry for this loss 😢 Happy you’re able to work through it because I know you two are both trying your best! Parenting (animals) is hard 😂
Sorry for the loss. It may be worth it to put a camera in the emu house & run a feed during the hatch out period to see what goes on.
Happy mothers day for the Mothers and the fathers that are also doing both.
14:25 That's a good name for one of the baby Emus: Joy.
Hungryroot = too much plastics = how could you provide something like this?
U will make it after all life goes on!my grandpa died before school started he was a wise man he always told me tho "it'll feel better when it stops hurting" and u know what?he was right!
JOY is a good name. so is HOPE.
If it is a natural fiber you can just use cloths like that for cleaning etc. if it's a synthetic it will melt you can trim the strings off it take a lighter and fray check the outer edge with a lighter because synthetics will melt
So sorry that some lessons are learned the hard way. In another circumstance, the baby emu could have been fine with that towel, it's entirely all chance. It's impossible to think of every chance that could happen. Your intentions were well meant, and that's what matters.
instead of towels or blankets - Feather dusters are the way to go.. All baby birds love them.

dont give up i know sometimes its hard that happened to my baby water turtle i have been searching on youtube how to take care of one I got one it was so cute then the next day when my older brother was cleaning its tank my brother put the baby turtle in a plastic bowl and I have a dog that is mixed pug and poodle that likes to kill baby birds that learns how to fly I was sad so my dog was in the house I told my brother we shouldn't leave the dog in the house my brother wouldn't think that my dog will find the turtle because the turtle was hiding under a turtle climber but my dog found the turtle moved the turtle climber with her head and got the turtle took it to her dog bed and started to chew on it like a bone at first I didn't know what she was eating so I ignored her and when I went to check on the baby turtle it was gone I raned and saw my dog chewing on it I told my mom and brother they raned and took the baby turtle out of her mouth it was still alive but the shell was a little little cracked so I remember on a video that once a turtle shell cracks they can die because the shell is part of their body and bone I stayed home while my brother went to the store to buy medicine we put medicine and put a warm light for it the next day it was dead I was so sad and I was already attached to it so I barried it my mom just barrley bought it but i know i cant blame my dog its not my dog falt its just an animal that's their insinkt like cats but i should of known that my dog will do that but don't give up now i have two chickens that are 11 weeks old i toughed my dog not to eat birds and chickens and she listens to me and the chickens are best friend i have a cat to my cat are best friends with the chickens as well but i watch your video and i learn allot from you that's why my chickens are happy and healthy because of you my chickens said thank you to you all.
So sad, but every year will get better.
Thank you for showing the world is not only about joy and happiness, we have losses, unluck, fights constantly and we are the ones who have to deal with all these. That's how we can enjoy the better days. Keep up the good work, keep entertaining us!
Oh man I'm so sorry about the little one. I know how much your animals mean to you. Super sad i once had my first turken chichen and accidentally hang himself trying to eat.
I make farm videos because of you
It's will be ok condolences 😢
FEATHER DUSTERS INSTEAD OF TOWELS. Feather duster may be a good fix for that I’ve seen other hatchers use them
Few of us in d world are geniuses. Just admit your failure learn from it and move on. No need to fight. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ we love you All
You guy's are doing such a great job raising so many different birds. Do you think if you picked up a baby camera monitor it might help you keep an eye on the chick's. It may help to figure out what's going on when you can't constantly keep an eye on them. ❤
Sorry to hear what happened to the emu chicks 😢😢
I love emus. Wish I had land to keep some along with goats.
Should you wash the eggs after they hatch? Wash them, moisturize them?
Man, this sucks. I'd also have a fight with my partner in this situation. Nobody wants to be responsible for stuff like this but in the end you have to own up to it. You always read about animals strangulating themselves by mistake but it's hard to believe until it actually happens. Somehow we always think they're smart enough to not do this. It's a hard lesson to learn but it'll never happen again, of that I'm sure. It must feel so humiliating to admit this to thousands of people. I'm proud of you for sharing the truth with your viewers. And I'm glad you got to talk it out with Becky. 💜
