You are so kind
To tell you the truth, I kind of prefer it when a KZreadr has trouble creating art. I enjoy seeing their process for dealing with "errors" or whatever to make something pretty. No one will know if a line is out of place or the trailer too short. Only you know it. Well. And the people who watch the video and hear you point out a flaw. I've decided that unless one is setting out to create a photo-realistic rendering, everything is "impressionism". I love little trailers and how wonderful that you found one that was doing something instead of just looking adorable.

Isn't it! It make me want to camp!
Lindsay.....give yourself some grace❤ I love the "you" in all of your content. You give so much. Sometimes, you have to just step back. This is so cute. I have never seen a camper like this. The proprietor was really clever.

Love this ❤ Thank you for talking about the very real effect our attitudes have on how we feel about our work while in progress. "Don't judge your work with a paint brush in your hand" should be on the inside cover of all my sketchbooks 😂

That is so cute! It is fun to see you paint the scenes that just say it is Summer. Look at it next Winter and see if it takes you back to today. Thank you.

Thanks so much! 😊
Hi, Lindsay! I really appreiciate it when an artist on YT shows it "warts and all"! It helps me to feel better about my own "warts". So thank you for that! I can also relate to making a mess of a painting back in the studio when the plein air session was so good. I have thousands of photos, but can never reproduce that sense of ' 'being there', in the moment, when I try working from them. I also find it hard to complete a painting begun outside once I'm back at home... So I still take all the photos, but very rarely use them outside of teaching situations where the students can learn a lot from working with and from them. Instead, I focus on other things at home - still life, and various other topics. I'm just useless at working with photos, regardlss of topic, full stop! It's odd, because I write up, illustrate and add photos to my holiday books and plein air sessions from photos, notes and tapes made while we were / I was there, and as I'm writing, working on it, I can be right there in the moment, seeing, hearing, smelling....yet it doesn't work for painting! Weird, isn't it! (Holiday books: one copy for me, the rest for family and close friends. Plein air? I used to write them up for my forum members, who loved reading about and seeing the photos of the scenery, the atmosphere, the people I met, etc.) Anyway, thanks again for honesty and open-ness! 😊

I love your work Lindsay! I discovered you at the very beginning of my art Journey. I think this is fabulous. I like the way you start with a light marker, followed by watercolor, then acrylic paints and more markers. I thought you lived in BC Canada, but have you moved?

I clicked from the cute screenie…. Before I even realised it was you 🫶 Aren’t you supposed to exaggerate features when sketching anyways… if you were wanting perfect, wouldn’t you just stick the photo in the journal then? I think it’s adorable, that’s how I want to sketch 🫶
