I would love to hear your thoughts on Kingdom Death: Monster, specifically in comparison to this game?

Oh, those are very different types of monsters. And I mean it in every sense of the word. KDM is a boss battler with tons of fresh adult (I would not play it with kids) fantasy game dripping with theme and super expensive and can take forever to complete a campaign. TWoM is affordable survival game with a very serious theme that can be completed in 3-6 hours (but don't do it in one sitting). And I would play this with my kids in a year or two, to discuss all the hard choices. So for different reasons I love both games, but had to get rid of KDM for the lack of space. But when my kids are older I would like to come back to it. But for now TWoM will do.

Nice new lay-out, especially the 3 (!) Best things 😅 just noticed today, usually your writing too much stuff... Keeps things fresh! Anywaysss like your content! Like this game, but the game length is huge 🤔 for now, keeping it on my wishlist

Pavlov's Dogs. It's a fun game that isn't getting much attention.

I've just heard about this game and it's so hard to find for buying at retail. Do Awaken Realms ever reprint their games?

I am curious why you did not talk about comparison to video game. If I've beaten that one would this still be of interest to me? Is the story and events much different?

Well, no. If you have played the video game and beaten it, I would only suggest this as an experience you could share with someone.

TWOM is the game I'm most glad I own. Not the most 'fun', nor anywhere near that, but an experience that is unrivalled, and showed that board games could be something that you wouldn't think possible. It's memorable for sure. No disagreement with the negatives, to which I'd add that the insert isn't very good for fast setup / packaway, though a good aftermarket insert does help a lot. Good video!

I've heard this game has a dark mode or a super-dark mode. In other words, eating the dog is not even close to the bad stuff.

This is one of my favorite games, but is almost always played solo. The one time I played with someone else, it lasted 8 hours! I don't think this board game is any darker than The Walking Dead TV series--survival and scavenging is also exciting😊!

This is the retail version without any expansions.

Does playing it with more players add anything? From the looks of it, it seems like playing it with others is just like playing a single-player game where you pass the controller around.

Not mechanically. It just adds discussions about what to do, but you won't be missing much playing it solo

The board game is also cool when you have this war of mine the video game And the board game Because when you get bored of the video game or the board game You can play the other version of it The board game is a lot more random And the video game after some time is basically just ease unless you have the random loot mod Both the board game and video game of TWOM are Very nice to play I also got once Nadia that i couldnt feed and i had to roll the black dice She was pregnant The child was born But Nadia was starving idk if she lost her sanity but she basically just strangled her baby using her clothes Pretty drastic

I really want to grab a copy of this game. Played the digital game. Looted the location with the 2 elderly pleaded to not take all their things. Took it anyway. Went to base. Felt real guilty as if it was real life. Uninstalled the game. Best game.

There are a few of us, possibly a minority though, who think this is much better with other players (rather than solo), as that brings the narrative to life and helps to put us more in the shoes of the civilians when making the challenging decisions this game presents (that are all the better not being simple 'Disney' morality decisions that reward doing good things / punish bad things).

I don't know about this one. I just simply cannot justify to play this game over the PC version with instant saves, PC as admins, much more characters, much more variable stories, etc.

Well, a lot of people don't want to play PC or video games. So this is the way they can experience such a theme. But sure, it is quicker and more varied as a video game. But there is a reasons all the big video games are getting a board game variant. There is something in that tactile analog gaming.

Dog really doesn't taste that bad. Try it, you might find you actually like it.
