THIS VINYL SAMPLE IS FROM WHAT?!? // Remove Limitations on Your Sampling Choices

SAMPLE EVERYTHING! You never know what you will find on that random record that you picked up for $0.50, and sometimes those samples lead to the best beats! In this video I am sampling a Sesame Street record using the SP404 MKII. What random records have you found nice samples on?
For this beat I used the SP 404 MK2 as the standalone tool to flip the vinyl sample, including drums, melodies, and bass.
I hope you enjoy this workflow and the sample based beat, and I hope the video provides some inspiration for your own production. I will be in the comments, so let me know what you want to see in a future video!

There is a bunch of good stuff to flip on that album. I love it. Good spot. Sesame Street Fever is another good one as well.
Oh dude, everyone knows the Sesame Street band had a rotation of super dope musicians.

Nice! I sampled this one before and everyone that hears the beat is shocked it’s from a Sesame Street record. Dope!
Bro. I love how laid back you are, yet still very thorough with your lesson. I came here to learn how to sample better, and you had an MPC, then this shows up and youre rockin the 404, just like me! So now I can see the whole process! Happy I found you, Bro.

Really appreciate it man, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! Thank you for supporting!!
Love the fact that you sampled sesame street 😂 The beat came out crazy, keep it up !!
Your videos are really good. Making tutorials is not easy and most don't have the knack for it. But you are able to be very clear but also have a way of also keeping momentum going so there is almost a sense of tension between each step of the tutorial. This tension creates a little suspense (as suspenseful as tutorials get lol) that keeps the viewer engaged, wanting to see/hear what happens next.
This video inspired me to start using my compressor more as an effect than just a mixing tool. Gonna try it both on the sp and in fl studio
Fire sample. Dope flip. 🫡🫡
Great combo of sampling idea and a bit of a tutorial
This is awesome. I actually had that record when I was a kid 😂. I loved it

I have that record still from being a little kid in the early 80s. There’s another Sesame Street one too with crazy drums on it
Thanks so much for the good vibes and excellent content. I'm just getting into my MK2 so the timing couldn't be any better for me. Muppets always had great beats, nice innovation. Can't wait to see more videos! Peace!

You both love the mark 2 of a thing called the SP. Strange. Why call it MKII guys? It's the SP404.
@sn0wt1ger
11 ай бұрын
@@thekeysman6760 to be specific because people still use SP-404 and SP-404A, so just saying MK2 is shorthand for SP-404 MK2. But people will only use that phrase when discussing SP-404 specifically so everyone knows what you are referring to
@thekeysman6760

@@sn0wt1ger Yes, I understand. Although equally it can still be said the device across the board is an SP, regardless of which version. They all have a link in that they are a model of SP. So the "specificness" is only either relevant contextually to the individual, or not. Apart from storage and extra fx, an SP is an SP for a general reason. The second half of a football/soccer match is still called football, not part 2. We're still talking about a model of SP, which will suffice in conversations! Few people would choose to buy the older model today unless they're collectors and go for sound over restrictions, is my point. But yes, always be specific when it really matters! 👍😉My first sampler in the 1980s was the S-900, then a W-30, then the grandfather of the SP, the MS-1 in the mid '90s, then the Boss SPs at the end of the '90s, so my overview of models is perhaps from a different perspective as yours! I.E. From that loftier point of view, an SP is an SP to me! 🤪 It's relative, if the fact of MKII is hugely relevant to be stated. Plus, this video is obviously about the new model, so my point is relevant, and relative!

@@sn0wt1ger And incidentally, what I'd say makes the SP an SP, whatever the model, is the character of the fx. Workflow aside.
Aye man, you look like the crazy foo from The Professional who takes those weird pills. Wasap man
Nice video man. Very stoked to get my hands on the mk2 and start sampling. What kind of Stanton you got there?
Ryan your videos are a great source of inspiration . i recently bought a Mikro MK3 and would love you to if you could use yours to make a funky house track with maybe a obscure disco samle chop up. that would be amazing. i"m new to this and really wish i had bought an MPC one, but it would have been one big cash outlay for me to try something new.
This is magnificent
Dope!
Dope beat, love the chill vibe. I have a another sesame street disco record called sesame street fever. Has a break or two on it and just overall dope 70s vibe. Not your typical children's record or typical sesame street. Pick that one up if you see it

Was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to use the mk2 with the mpc one? 🙏 Still waiting for mines and wanted to know do you use mk2 with mpc in stand-alone? How do you add effects to the sample in the mpc one?
aye shoutout kermit 🐸
Yo I'm super new to the mk 11 and I only use records could you give me any tips ? Watching your videos has been really helpful but I learn a bit better when things are really well to me haha
Hi Ryan; new SP404-MKII Fanatic here and I absolutely love this video + your humble, patient, and care-free style. 1. Is the Stanton turntable your favorite and if so why (if you have a vid on this I will search for that)? 2. I have the SanDisk 32GB on the way - do you have any preferred method of backing up all of your data (songs, patterns, and other unique data) so nothing is lost? In my case I will be using this machine mostly live and would be devastated to lose everything because a disk got corrupted / bit f;ipped / theft - etc. Thank you kindly! (goes off to watch all of your videos.. ;) PS, are you in Canada?

You're saying the letters MKII but it means Mark 2. Calling it the SP seems better and quicker.
