FLIPPING SAMPLES ON THE SP-404 MKII 🍴 // Infusing House Vibes Into Hip Hop
Музыка
The SP-404 is an awesome machine to jam on, and it always inspires me to make new types of beats. In this video we are taking it back to the classic techniques, and making a sample beat from vinyl using the SP-404 MKII.
For this beat, I used the SP 404 MK2 as the standalone tool to flip the samples, including drums, melodies, and bass.
I hope you enjoy this workflow, and the sample based beat, and I hope the video provides some inspiration for your own production. I will be in the comments, so let me know what you want to see in a future video!

Thanks so much for more SP videos. Everyone on elektronauts, reddit, and more all talk about all the crazy stuff they do with the SP MK2, the tracks they've made, albums done on it, etc. Yet not many are making videos on how to do things with it. With how esoteric the work flow is on the MK2, I love seeing more people showcase how they work with it.

For SP house I pull the envelope down 2 or 3 on all my chops (if they’re on beat) for smol side chain effect
Love this beat and video. Hard to find good SP videos out there.
Dunno why but i feel like MF Doom would have sounded dope on this beat. I think I get Red and Gold vibes from it

Thank you for your SP videos. I am really learning a lot. Not just about the machine but about sampling and flipping beats in general. Fantastic!
fire video, thanks for the tip about being able to effect a mute groups pitch. i had no idea, i was manually doing each chop or i would pitch it first then chop after. nice vibe, dope to see how people work on the MK2. new sub 💪🏽

YES!!!
That pattern copying tip is great! I was aware of being able to copy only certain certain pads/sounds over to a new pattern, but with this workflow it seems a lot easier to do it after the fact. Thanks!

Hey Ryan can you compare the sound between the One the 404 and the 1000. which sounds the best out of the box?
On 1.25x playback speed qtip could get down on this
What song from the record did you sample?
House at 86bpm? 🤯
Is there a way to go between patterns immediately without going to the start of the pattern, this way you could say make a pattern with no kick and swap to that pattern so it acts like muting the kick, or you could create fils

Yup. If you hold Sub Pad and select the pattern, it will automatically trigger the pattern.

@@remyvegamedia This will still go to the start of the pattern you're bringing in rather than the equivalent point in that pattern, so wouldn't work for what @tommy2nes is asking as far as I believe
