The blurry peripherals is not "Chromatic Abberation", it is foveated rendering. It is a limitation due to computational power. To power over 11 million pixels with a refresh rate at 90+ hz, it requires computational power beyond what the M2 can provide, so they blur peripheral vision to make the computational task easier. Since they can see where you are looking, they can make everything within your direct line of sight full resolution and crisp and blur everything in your peripheral.
@joselucnico

No it doesn’t. The blur is there for you to see near you, the image is not around you.
@LunaSoteira1

yes, foveated rendering is awesome. noticed it after watching videos on it. I do wonder if its actually *needed* but either way the extra efficiency that foveated rendering provides is always a +. You will never notice it as the user because of how good and fast the eye tracking is!

@Ghettofinger

@@joselucnico what the fuck are you talking about? You can see near you just fine without blur. The dynamic foveated rendering its to free up computational resources. If you plug it into a Mac and set up a recording through Xcode, you can screen record without foveated rendering and out destroys the performance. How the fuck do you think the M2 can run over 11 million pixels at 90hz without foveated rendering, magic? Obviously, if they had an SoC with the computational power to run the displays with 100% resolution with no blur, they would, but that’s just not possible. Don’t comment stupid shit just to incorrect people.
@Ghettofinger

@@LunaSoteira1 Trust me it’s absolutely needed, you can get it to run without it by connecting your Mac and screen recording through Xcode and the performance plummets. It will be a few years before Apple’s SoC can have graphic dyes that can run resolution at those refresh rates.
I sold phones when the iPhone came out and for years after. How quickly people forget the 1-4 month period where people hated multitouch and then one day they could never go back

Stop comparing iPhone launch to this..... Apple didn't invent anything here, go back 2 years time and Quest Pro did exactly what Vision Pro trying to achieve, add to Quest Pro another 2000$ to get better displays + tracking + cameras and you end up with Vision Pro..... It's only the software that Apple actually ahead of the game in, the hardware not really and I have been in VR industry since a decade ago with Oculus DK1, owned 13 VR headsets, and attended 3 VR/XR events..... Don't think for a second Apple is actually ahead in hardware development, unlike iPhone where it was Apple who was ahead in hardware and software, they invented also some stuff with the iPhone

@@TRX25EX you’re welcome to your opinion but I can see a lot of parallels even if it isn’t an identical situation (it never will be btw). I would also argue that a quest is akin to a windows phone/palm pilot that has been out for years when iPhone hit. Close to the functionality, even had features and capabilities beyond the iPhone but didn’t have that experience.

@@Hogwild90 Bro you still missing the point, iPhone had it's own hardware while Vision Pro is basically this: 1. Sony (previous) gen 1.43 inch display panel 2. Tobi (previous) gen Eye tracking 3. Lenses from the same company as Meta 4. Uses (previous) gen M chip 5. 2 generations old cameras without focal auto focus like XR-4 have So basically it's using a hardware that was available over a year ago, Crystal uses same eye tracking, Quest Pro uses similar lenses tech, M2 will be 2 generations older in several months time, Sony already revealed last year a smaller 1.3 inch display panel exceeds Vision Pro display panel..... Apple basically selling it's software otherwise the hardware is not impressive or invented by them in any means....

@@TRX25EXdidn’t the first iPhone have a Samsung chip. The point here is that Apple took VR/AR and actually showed what can be done and what is to come. Apple isn’t ever first, they are usually just better.
as a director i see the notes app with some draws and the direct display on the shot with a remote app and some information from other apps, i see it really useful
I can totally see this evolve in 5-10 years from now when this is in the form of lightweight glasses. It's just a matter of time before we get there.

That is pretty slick!
In the accessibility settings you can add the “mouse icon” to see better what you’re doing. I would turn that on when I work on Vision Pro or maybe in general.
Thanks for asking my question and giving us your honest feedback on this bro. Crazy how fast you got this video up too 🙌🏼
Very creative idea, cool video!
Thank you so much for the honest review man!
Probably the best honest review on this thing
That guy you were FaceTiming looked like a cool dude
Yeah , give it time bro. I thought the exact same thing and by the end of the night was obsessed
Thank you for the review. I was looking for actual use case of productivity ( using MacBook and working ). You covered that ! Appreciate it … not reviews I seen only covered viewing photos and watching videos lol
I'm excited for where this is going, ideally replacing an external monitor or two, and making traveling edits more feasible. But currently I can only edit with one window or workspace, which isn't enough for an efficient workflow. When multi-screen support comes, the price becomes more viable for the regular consumer ($2000), I'll be buying one. But for now, I'll be using the Studio Ultra and Studio Display, with an M1 14" laptop for travel.
SICK!! I have to try to edit my video on this too! 😮😮
Great video Landon 🔥
Nice review👍 I was thinking same as you can I edit with it. So far it's better to wait for the next version with the updates,
Interesting you didn't use the double band though. But after watching various reviews, i think it really needs multi-monitor, needs the same macbook functionality with ipad, and of course the inevitable cheaper/lighter version. Does seem like higher FOV will be a game changer too.
Excellent questions and content. I am a professional who uses Resolve, Premiere, After Effects and Maya among others. It's almost impossible to find a review with this angle. I haven't used mine yet for editing or 3D.
can you stream straight from the iPhone video into the camera so you can use it as a screen into the camera? If so, what would be the lag?
Is there a size limit to how big you can make the Mac screen? Seems like you could open 2-3 windows within a huge Mac screen. I was wondering about Logic Pro X. So I’m hoping to have a timeline in the middle, a mixer window on the right, and a floating plugin window on the left if possible.
First real unbiased review ,well done by the way, it's a VR/MR headset not goggles :)
Amazing ❤
THIS IS NUTS!!
This is super interesting, I can already see what apple might improve for the next vision pro, especially with the fov and battery life.
Insaneee🔥🔥
Great video!
Great Video!!
I usually use my iPad as sidecar for editing as 2nd monitor - I guess 2 streams not possible with that "hack"? There is no USB-C display mode for iPads, that would make it work?
that was very interesting!
So a good tech demo. But that’s about it. Considering a 4K 75” TV is $300, this is not worth it for “a big screen”
SO COOL!!!!
Rad video! Did it make your neck ache after a while?
I need comparisons. My PlayStation VR I think is insane. What would make me buy this vs enjoying what I have?
It would be cool if Black Magic developed a feature for the Vision Pro where each of the pages of DaVinci are in different windows that are always next to each other so you can jump between the edit page and fusion back and forth and it’s all within your eye sight.
Amazing
Finally an honest review..
Mine is on order.
Bro. You're absolutely crushing the content game.
Cool review for potential editing! Makes me consider the possibility we already have goggles on our face (or brain)…& just don’t know it.
I have a mac studio pro, can it be used the same way with a macbook?
As a prescription glasses-wearer, I don't have a full clear field of view just wearing glasses (and now that I looked, I can't not see the blurry edges!). It's great you tested DaVinci Resolve on AVP, but it would've been great to test Mac Virtual Display (computer still doing the heavy lifting) next to DaVinci Resolve (AVP using M2) to understand how they perform together. I think some of the cons you bring up (using Apple accessories, accidental clicks) are part of regular platform learnings/constraints -- the EU will likely create laws about the accessories, and the accidental clicks you'll learn quickly not to do that since the input method is specific to AVP.
No one talks about the spatial video recording that Apple mentioned.. is it not available yet?
You gotta wear the included head strap so it's not pressing against your face. But such a great review. I was wanting to buy to speed up editing but not anymore. Thanks
I understand not all bluetooth peripherals works with Vision Pro. What about Apple Magic Mouse? Or will it insist on the Apple Magic Trackpad? Also aside of MacBook with Apple Silicon, can you use a MacMini with Apple Silicon and move the window into Vision Pro? Or does it have to be MacBooks with Apple Silicon?
As a professional colorist, I can't wait to try it out with Resolve and really push its limits. I think within a few months people will be wearing these in public. Great video!
This was the first useful review on avp
WOW!!!!!
Resolve is the only one app available in VisionPro?
Thanks for your honest feedback ! Don’t understand why apple didn’t work more on the field of view ;( for me it’s a deal breaker
I think this is why devices like VR goggles or MR device like this are still not merging into our daily needs and often ending up as a game device or just a decoration cuz it could not change the human habits. We've been using tools like cellphones and computers, keyboards to finish our tasks. It's quite hard to break those habits and change our way of work into something new. Plus if this kind of device cannot overcome the size and weight, then it's going to fade out. It's cool and futuristic for sure, and it would be interesting to see how it turns out in the future, but for now, it's an appealing device that probably people only used and tried when they first bought it.
Damn nice man, I wanted to buy this for edit, thinking would be game changer so I could work on a plane or in the airport with multiple screen so I can drag and drop a lot easier but it seems this is not the case. So I think i wont buy it for now.
I hope Apple considers to add support for connecting the vision pro to macbook and macpro.
This is unparalleled. I had the privilege of reading something similar, and it was truly unparalleled. "Reclaiming Connection: The Journey of a Digital Detox" by Joshua Ember
Yess!!!!!!
I will be buying the Vision Pro 3, once it becomes a 100% FOV. For now, my quest 3 was $499 and has a 95% FOV
Something that might be interesting for me, as a self-directing camera operator, is the possibility to have live vr screen inputs from my camera. I work a lot with a gimble, and my biggest problem is the fact that I can't run big secondary screens when I'm working. With the Vision Pro I could for example have one screen with the exposure, one with the focus and one for the rec709 conversion in VR. That way I can run a light weight set up and still get all the information from my camera that I might wanna have in front of me. That would be something that would make me interested in running the Vision on set.

First video I’ve seen that’s working through a Pro workflow in this thing.
2:40 definitely something I wanted to know
as a person who likes watching sports, I was expecting it would be like being in the stadium immersive experience & not "just" watching a big floating screen with lots of stats on the sides.
this is way too cool lol
Remember this tracks your eyes so it only fully renders what you’re actually looking at and not all the things around it. Thats why some other windows look blurry at times .
Most honest review I’ve seen all these other reviewers are in apples pocket.. cough Marcus

Right ... if it unconstrained the sub-windows it'd be interesting. Where your timeline could be the panoramic width ... but the problem w editing is there's never enough space for everything to be big enough when you need detail but to fit all the panes at their optimal size. Who knows. Maybe one day.
Literally imagine pilot takes pictures all of his passengers wearing this apple vision pro so hilarious. Seems his passengers are aliens. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Theres a ton of audio crackle at the start lol
what's crazy is how people are complaining about a product that literally is better than an y VR or AR headset.... why can't we say "thank you apple for once again changing the world" they took something that most people never really tought about to something worth while !!!

Hello
The cushion is dictating your field of view. Try an experiment. Remove the cushion and hold it up your face as close as possible. If it’s as much of an improvement as I think, your cushion is too big, and the excess material it’s creating that effect. You can go try out smaller, thinner cushions, or ultimately there will be many solutions available. What is your cushion size? Please lmk how it works out.
