I painted some bolts! Does anybody else do this? Also, I think that duck must have been flying for his life! From the sound of it, I’d guess it was trying to get away from some kind of larger bird of prey. He sounded seriously stressed out! Also, I don’t live in the country…I live in the suburbs.

I paint 'em and run a die on the threads. I also tap the holes. Everything goes back together so nice and it looks better for sure. Thanks for the fun!

That seems like a solid plan, Mark. Especially if the holes have had any kind of sealer or loctite in them. 👍🏼
Yup! If I don't use stainless then I reuse the originals after cleaning and painting them.

I tell you what, Joe, it’s a good way to go. Things go back together so much more easily. I’m also a big fan of stainless, though with stainless, I usually can’t help but throw them in the lathe and face off the bolt head. Ends up looking pretty trick when all is said and done. We are nerds, sir. 😂
