I believe the issue is caused by solder oxidation, which causes the cable joint to separate, to the sheer forces of heating and cooling two different material because their thermal expansion factors are different. Doesn't matter what you do it is just a time-ticking bomb, it fails eventually unless you don't use the phone. The only real fix is to replace the solder (must be done with a flex bonding machine) and install the cable in a way that prevent the joint section from directly sticking onto the screen's back. It may be possible to do a temporary fix by resoldering the flex using cheap tools, and install the cable without sticking the joint on the back of the screen, but the joint can still break again as the solder deteriorate further. It is 100% samsung's engineering failure. They are going to pay for this for many years to come. Replacing the screen with a original new one is a scam since it carries the same flaw and is destined to fail in the same way after some time.

OnePlus 8T, after A12 c35 update It may be a manufactured fault which occurs after some timespan. But It's a Google and manufacturing companies' responsibility to apologize and give a free screen replacement within a week and direct updates to A13.

@@pan9765 if phone doesn't have any minor damage and dents then OnePlus exclusive service centre can replace the screen free of cost. A visible dents and damage cost you the screen replacement. Just be a nice customer and OnePlus sure help you.

Iqoo 5. First line appeared out of nowhere back in Feb. There are five lines now. So changing the screen is useless? Damn... I kept the phone in pristine condition and this nonsense happened. Unbelievable

Thousands of one plus phones of 8,9 generation display had showed pink and green lines due to their update to color os, even if you don't update the screen pixels becomes dead in time , only solution is display replacement which costs around 14K inr ....if they don't replace for free , file a consumer case against them

I am not convinced that software update has capability to destruct display but might write 'green line', looking permanent, into it's display driver. Replacing display is told by samsung service centers to many people but r they actually doing this? Have these people, who paid for the display, asked for old display from them? Pls share ur opinion. Maybe someone should degrade to android v11 and pass this information to all people and never ever load any update from samsung.

Same goes to me with the OnePlus 8t after a months using the android 12. Anyone, have sone suggestions? Is it gonna disappear or it'll permanently leaves the green line.

I am getting this issue with my S20+ as well, I have 3 green lines on the display now and my phone is well kept and maintained. I do not play games, do not use fast charging and the phone was never dropped.

same story here. i have s20, one pink line appeared one month ago samsung customer care told a price of 18k rupess which i don't have. and second line just appeared today. i'm just pissed off. don't know what to do.

I had android 12 on my Xiaomi mi 10 for almost a year now and it still works fine. Mi 10 came from Android 10. I'm from the Philippines which has very hot weather and my phone heats up a lot when changing but it still works fine. Had this phone for more than 2 years

My 1+9 effected with green line on my display , it happened on 5th of this December, I discussed with one plus customers care they picked up my mobile through courier to Bangalore and replace my display with free of cost and send back on 21st December,.actually my warenty period is also over.i really thankful to one + service .

Having a Galaxy S10 5g been usung it for more than a year now. I'm on android 12, dropped it twice, the outer glass has some cracks. Most of the tlme I use it it's around 35 degrees Celsius - not any problem at all. In my opinion this started from the S20 and onwards. The main issue imho is that Samsung is totally neglecting their customers. When even employees at a Samsung service centre can't the company to switch their malfunctioning screen for free who can?

my vivo x50 just experienced this today. I talked to customer service and I mentioned about the spreading problem at their lineups. they are yet to confirm that issue. But as of now they told me that I have to pay for a screen replacement. I do find it ironic that I am the one to pay for their software update that destroyed my phone

The phone has to be in excellent condition (no scratches or marks ) or youd have to pay for the replacement I think around P6000 or more but please have it downgraded to android 11 to reduce future issue as of now my phone is working for 7 months now after replacement

I have owned 2 Samsung flagship phones of their respective times, S7 and Note 20 ultra. For both phones the side buttons just fell off after using for 14-15 months. Note 20 phone case opened up on its own. And finally this green line started appearing. Both the phones had excellent softwares. But with such a pathetic physical build quality I have finally decided to give up on Samsung and moved to iPhone.

One thing I have found common is that all of these display problems are happening only in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan. I think there is a manufacturing problem only in Indian units, the global units are not having any problem. I have a s20 5g au carrier unlocked from Japan, its running on the latest updates and there have been no problems yet.

@@timepassvideos9532 kuchh bhi. They are happening all over the world. Just population is more in these countries hence you obviously see more cases from these region. I myself had the same problem. My unit was purchased from one of the south East Asian country. Just browse more videos. People are reporting from all over the world. And in advanced countries most of the people use iPhones. Hence obviously less cases there.

I am using vivo x60. I got Android 12 update last year December. But after October security update 1 green line came and after 1 week another 1 line appear. I am totally disappointed. As a student now it is not possible to change the display with my money i.e around 9500. The company is denying their responsibility

I don't know if I have this issue exacly, but blue line showed up on my Galaxy S6 Tab Lite 2022.

What if my Oneplus 9r already has the green line and I am now on Android 13. Can I now replace the screen safely?

The display isn't destroyed like many of the comments here are saying. My S20+ got a totally white/green screen after the August security patch. I did some research and got the flex cable changed. And the display is perfect again. Have disabled updates.

Faced same issue on my S20 plus, Samsung replaced screen for free with only service charges payable. Hope will not encounter issue again.

the problem in android 11 is that the screen still gets electric current. try to leave the phone until the lock screen position. not infrequently your green line will stay on. even though the line should be off because the electric current is outus when the screen is locked

@@lechu2512 I asked the service center, and they had some kind of extended warranty for certain phone models, as long as they determined during their checks that it wasn't due to third party fixing, water dmg, or physical dmg. Then they replaced the screen for me for free

S10 plus has two lines. You are correct my phone started to heat up for no reason. When I picked up the phone the next day it had the two lines lines

My phone Realme X7 Pro also suddenly got the green line in the middle just now. This morning, my charger also got heated up & the charging failed. The battery doesn't increase even tho it was already charged for 1 hour. Is it related to the update too?

@@pradeepdjain currently the parts are not available in the place I stay you can visit your nearby OnePlus store and raise an issue they'll check your phone's condition If there's no dent in your phone they might replace the screen for free!

My Note20Ultra got a green line. Samsung charged me $440HKD. That is a scam. Many users are affected by this yet samsung is not taking the responsibility to replace for free.

There is a oneplus facebook group in the philippines that reports new green line issues almost every day. A few oneplus 7pro and 7t victims, then most are op8 amd some op9. This is getting out of hand

My Note20 Ultra 5G got 1 green line last Oct or Nov 2022...yeah, i remember when i did an update, thats when o got that 1 green line...then by Dec, I got another, then by 2023, it already has 3 line. Such a waste...because it is so expensive phone...and Im so careful in handling my cellphone yet you will have this problem because of this software....or maybe its the manufacturers fault?! So frustrating! I bought it with our hard earned money...buying what we thought our money is worth it. I hope the company would give their best to ensure the product they are selling is worth the money we bought.

I take my phone to service centre there are other users with same issue one thing i noticed is that OnePlus replace any flat screen but they are not replace curve edge screen like 8 pro or 9 pro . When i ask them to replace my screen they told me you have to pay 16800/- for replacement.

I did not get the geen lines but my display has gone black, it still gets touch imput and it works you can answer calls and talk on it but with a dead screen, also works perfectly with dex, i guess this is a problem either with the ic of the display or ribbon, this happend to me just after the warranty passed now I am talking to samsung to send in the phone and see what can be done...

My Samsung Galaxy A71 suffered from a bright line on the screen after a performance update on April 8th. I took it to Samsung Technical Assistance and they charged me an absurd amount that made the repair impossible. Please do not update any more on your phones from Samsung and other brands that are experiencing this issue.

Flex bonding only works on green display,white display.. Green lines or pink lines lead to pixel dead in vertically... Only way go to display repair only shops, and put second hand og display costs around 8000rs..

If it occurs after an update then You all try to download or flash the original or default firmware using odin tools.. if it works. Then never update it... there are tutorials on how and where to download and how to use the odin tools.. but be carefull to follow instruction to avoid further damage... I got an issue with the camera and wifi with my old S Series before after an update. so i tried flashing the original release version or stock version and it works perfectly.. but remember, do it at your own risk, remember to backup all of your important files from your mobile to your desktop or other drives before proceeding..

Those green lines appear suddenly. One once appeared while it was in my hand, just after turning the screen off and on again.

I too got the same issue .. I reported this in Samsung service center and within few hours they replaced new display. Note : Free of cost

I am also facing this green line issue on my Vivo X60 pro.. The smartphone companies should repair our phones for free as this isn't our fault.. It's happening because of their buggy Android update..

I have these green lines too on Google Pixel 4a 5G after updating to android 12 ☹☹They should refund us, I paid almost $400 for this phone. Thank you for this helpful information.

It was a straight green line right in the middle of the screen and my phone is in warranty so I got screen replacement for free but many of them are getting free replacement even without warranty because it's software's fault and not ours. You just have to fight for it at the service center. If they are refusing to replace it free file a complaint against them.

hi sir i encountered that problem now, my phone is xiaomi 12t and sometimes my phone got one green line when my phone is hot especial playing games.. and when its cold the green lines just vanish

The green line just popped up on my Z flip 3 as i flippedit open to take a call. I'm so sad.

Same issue but it changed its colour from pink to green. Phone: realme x7 pro 5g

I am Samsung s20 user. Never had green screen or light saber issue cuz i never download a major update patch from samsung 😂. I use it from 2020 till this day 😊
