    I like how obvious the "Einstellung" effect is, instead of making the armor stands face to some coordinates, you could simply use data merge to make them all face exactly the same direction.

  • @joshuaibanez5256

    @joshuaibanez5256

    Жыл бұрын

    Making them face a singular direction is already what's happening with the original spawning, without the facing coords. There is a singular DIRECTION for the armor stands to face, each side respectively, but there is no singular point since a triangle is not formed by only one point of three rays.

    I'm here to tell Mysticat that giving an armor stand the "Marker:1b" nbt tag removes the hitbox, therefore making it impossible to interact with or kill it without commands (take note, mapmakers), and more importantly (from my limited experience in using it), it also makes it so that it doesn't interact with lighting either (i put one inside a wall and it wasn't dark) Yknow, so you don't have to use slabs :) also slightly offset the y coordinate of any overlapping armorstands, to stop the z-fighting Edit: rewrote to better explain what I meant(

    And as a guy who knows how to use the /data command (this is a command blocks joke), this is actually impressively simple. I've already thought of a few ideas to make it more flexible to allow for any shape triangle, like spawning 3 armorstands and making a "drawing" armorstand travel down a path marked by those armorstands. No timing is involved with that system either, you just make it look at the direction of the armorstand you want it to go to, duplicate it (without the tag so you don't get 500000 entities within a couple ticks) move it in the direction it's looking, check if it's near the armorstand it's going towards, if so, stop, then repeat with the next armorstand in the path, if not, repeat the steps.

    2:36 The reason why it's 120 is that is how much the armor stand is turning, and not how much the internal angle is. Basically, 120 is the external angle for each side.

  • @davidci
    @davidci2 жыл бұрын

    I think the best way to form the triangle without having to time anything is to use a triangle with Pythagorean triples. Basically any triangle that are able to have whole number lengths as their sides, such as a 3 by 4 by 5 triangle, or a 5 by 12 by 13 triangle. With that, you're able to place command blocks on the corners in Minecraft without having to rely on corner timings, kinda like how you did 1:18 but better. You just have to set the angles for the armor stands.

    You can also make an equilateral triangle with integer lengths... there is no point in using pythagorean triples. In general, there are many triangles with integer sides that aren't pythagorean triples

    2:36 It was 120 and not 60 because you think of the inside angle when making a perfect triangle. The armor stand when rotated it's "line of sight" or just the dirtection it had set as the forward, was the one looking outside. So it was 120 that way. Because 60+120=180 which is a half circle, and always the number of both inside and outside agles added when one of the lines is elongated (idk if u get it it'd be easier to explain on paper/in drawing tbh)

    at 4:41, you said that you made it be facing specific coordinates that were very far away. However, this isn't actually what those green numbers in the command mean, they actually mean the angle it is facing in degrees; that means that when you found your final number (-1109.6) then you were actually making them be facing -29.6 degrees (because 1109.6 modulo 360 equals 29.6). That made them look right, because the correct number would be 30 degrees, but the command was longer than it had to be. Hope that cleared some things up!

    2:34 the outside angles of a polygon, the difference between the angle and a straight line, must add up to 360° (in Euclidean space only, dw about that bit). 120° times 3 is 360° so on a triangle, when all of the outside angles add up to 360° each one will in fact be 120°

    Just putting it out there, its 120° because you turn right so to make a equilateral triangle, which has 60° internal angles, you need to go 120° because the outer angle onto a straight line plus the inner angle must be 180° and as the inner one is 60° then the outer must be 120°. Sorry that's long and weird but hope it makes sense. Also sorry to people that may find me saying this is me being cocky but it isn't, it's just me trying to enlighten others.

    A good explanation for why it’s 120 and not 60, imagine a triangle, extend the length of one side. Then imagine folding the extra length back onto the triangle. This angle is the turning angle. Which is 120 degrees. This happens to be 120 because on a straight line each side has an angle of 180. And with the intersecting side the 60 degrees gets taken away.

  • @nightskygeckos4776

    2:35 The reason why is it 120 is the 60 is the inner degree, but what matters is the outer degree.
