Nice.....but those cupboards are right out of the 80s.

I like the “old fashioned” cabinetry in this trailer also the colorful fabrics on the upholstery.

My wife and I have been considering the 27FS. Not for hauling "toys" but potentially grandchildren. Great look, Taylor. Big thanks to Colby, too!

Im watching this video from the bedroom of my 27FS. We bought it because we have twin 4 year old boys. Works great for the kids....

Jocko Moto I’m a part-time wheelchair user and fulltime RV’err always looking toward what the future may hold so I’ve paid attention to wheelchair-accessible rvs. What I’ve seen people do is also have the wall to the bathroom in an rv taken out, or not put in at the factory in one case, so that the bathroom is accessible. Some fifth wheel toyhaulers have a second bathroom back in the toy space that can be modified “easily.” Someone else who was able to used a shop roller chair to access the bathroom. One of the Class A brands (sorry I don’t remember which) just started a standard line of accessible RVs with a wheelchair lift, and there’s also a lift that can be attached to the side of a class A for people who are able to stand on a small lift.

I absolutely LOVE this Toy hauler.!!!!! This is exactly what I've been looking for. Unfortunately, I bought one last year and had to compromise on it.

I'm really starting to like the toy hauler concept even though I don't have a "toy" to haul. That "garage" space is just so useful. It is an office, gym, seating area, can be a deck, etc. It can also haul bikes, patio sets, lawnmowers, and other large items you might want to bring with. It can be used more like a traditional trailer too for trips to the hardware store to buy lumber or when you need to haul furniture. It really boosts the overall usefullness of the trailer by a lot over a typical closed setup back there.

We just got a 2005 Desert Fox M38-5U 38’ toy hauler for the same reason. I have the space to set up a mini art studio in the back 12x7.5 area (I ship my work to galleries to sell) and my wife works at medical billing online (using a StarLink for internet). We can now live around the country 6 months at a time in the places we like. We will have the unit moved to new locations by a transport company that specializes in moving larger RVs and still keep our Suburban for driving around our new areas.

outlaw I know it’ll fit in a 27FS, it is extremely tight to fit a Maverick Max. Have to strap up the front wheels and come and turn the wheels a bit up by the stove and it will fit I believe.

I want that trailer now, selling my current trailer hopefully to find one. Also hope you are well. Cheers Mainland Steele.

As of right now, Northwood only makes toy haulers under the Desert Fox brand, and they're all conventional tow.

Loved the trailer, only one thing that caught my eye that I didnt like....the stove is right next to the couch, no splash guard or wall.

My wife would love that. Her maiden name was D. Fox. Too short for us though.

Want one!!!!!!

I'm thinking this would make one heck of a basecamp while I take the F-350 with the Alaskan Camper a bit further for a couple days of off grid exploring. Reg Cab, gas engine, 4x4 with the Godzilla 7.3 v8. Although, I did see a GMC 3500 in the same config with the new 6.6 v8 in a cool looking dark, metallic brown with the right options for $44k. 2020 I know they are both great trucks...what to do?

That is a small toy hauler. It is a 21. There are other companies that make 17 foot single axle toy haulers that would be good for bicycles.

Taylor, check your video light when you keep turning into partial light the video goes black and we can't see what you are displaying. How do you secure the back ramp/door when closed? Not looking for surprise visits anytime.

Should have removed the black shades in back to get more light in. Should have lain on the king/queen? bed to give us a better idea of how a tall guy like myself might be more comfortable. I'm 74 inches and my problem is all RV's have the short 75 inch queen mattress not the normal 80 inch

Requested info from Northwoods. Sent me a brochure with all three models 21,24, and 27. Tried to order a 24. Never mind.......they don't make the 21 or 24 anymore.

Question that I'm having trouble getting answered. We've been researching T.c. for a while now. The 865 A.F. T.C. has my attention. I have a 4×4 2017 Dodge Laramie 1 ton ext. Cab 8' bed. Artic fox advertises this 865 camper will fit on the truck. But a dealer I've talked to says it will NOT fit with a on board generator.. I have emailed Artic Fox a few weeks ago and to my surprise I've had no response at all... Im looking for a non-slide t.c. Will the 865 a.f. fit on my 2017 drw 1 ton 4×4 ext. Cab 8' bed, with the on board generator?..your my last hope in getting an opinion I can trust. The dealer I felt was trying to push me into another t.c. so..hopefully you'll clear this up for me. Or maybe not getting a response from the factory is a sign on customer service, who knows. Thanks for your time on these videos. Very well done.

The only drawback to toy haulers is that it’s difficult to boondock. Most set up for beds only after you take out your toy.

VERY nice (!)...but due to the tongue weight (1060lbs!) it'd take a larger truck than I thought. Even if it could handle the trailer's weight (6688lbs) it couldn't handle the high tongue weight. Specifically, I was thinking of a mid-size truck like the new Ford Ranger...even with it's high towing-capacity (7500lbs) the tongue weight woudl only be about 10% of that, meaning 750lbs or so -- not enough for this Desert Fox 21SW. So for a small TT (21' IS small), it needs a larger than mid-size truck to tow it safely...but some of us don't want a larger truck (for several reasons). :-( -- BR

No, max DRY weight is 6688, GVWR is 10,400.

Even if you think a Ranger could tow it COMPLETELY EMPTY, look at the GCVWR on the Ranger. Add the GVWR of the Ranger and GVWR of smallest Desert Fox at 25' of 10,400 and I'd bet you'd go WAY over. As for the weight, this is a Desert Fox, same construction as the Arctic Fox. Full aluminum frame, fully insulated. These two brands are expected to be heavier. I doubt you'll find a toy hauler that a Ranger can handle from any brand. Remember to look as the Gross Vehicle Weight. That combined with GVW on the Ranger is what will get you in trouble.

@@billredding2000 toy haulers large cargo capacity vs dry weight often makes them a candidate for a bigger truck than a camper of similar outside dimensions. I watched a video by a dealer about a "half ton towable!" hauler that had a GVWR over 11,000 lbs, that is really a 3/4 ton at least. Tow ratings are figured with flat trailers and small dense loads, just because your door sticker says 12000 does not mean you should hook a 12000 camper up and expect the higher center of gravity and big walls and nose catching wind to handle safely.

In the front is there a bed?

I have this! It is awesome. Its such a great boondocker. Huge tanks. Huge gas tank. And... no toys.
