In Super Smash Bros. Melee, there's a player called Borp. Borp is legendary for having 0 tech-skill(mechanics), but having such strong fundamentals that he was able to take tournament sets off of high-level players. No tech needed, just solid game-sense and fundamentals.

It's the same as if AppJack played RL with KBM. He'd still destroy every single one of us even without any mechanics and just because he knows how to do the basics super well

@@peterjackoville4272 He would need at least a few hours using KBM to get mechanically accustomed to the basics and even then, he probably wouldnt destroy every single one of us, but probably up to GC level assuming he didnt even get a mechanical level to control an air play/ do air defence but i roughly understand your point.

I've played jack with him on KBM when he played viewers for a stream. I am a mid GC player, and was C3 in 1v1. He beat me 5-2

There was a 1v1 player a few years ago that was top 10, i cant remember his name but he spent thousands of hours practicing kickoffs, even had weird camera settings for it. He would make players rage because he wasnt as mechanical but would win 80% of the kickoffs

I don't understand. Wasn't jack the one who popularized the wavedash kickoff back in gold mine? He's the first guy I ever remember doing it. I feel like he should definitely be pulling it out every so often to mixup his kickoffs, especially when they are consistently not going his way

Yeah his wavedash kickoff is incredibly good. I think he just doesn't bother to tryhard enough in these ranked matches. I've seen him wavedash in tournaments before.

Palerider was delaying some of his kickoffs, which is the counter to the Wavedash kickoff. That was not the game to use the Wavedash kickoff more than once just to try it.

palerider says hes not mechanical but he is, he just doesnt use them in his playstyle. If you watch him when he's just playing on a smurf for fun you'll see he's actually pretty mechy

The map is the limit when you have a full tank of boost, literally. You can pretty much score from anywhere without having the ball touch the ground with 100 boost.
