This Tool Gets Chunky GOLD Others Miss! Pacific Northwest Gold Prospecting.

Ойын-сауық

Join me while I go gold prospecting near Portland Oregon in a spot where I previously recovered 5 grams of chunky gold. Battling high water and snow storms I manage to save some pickers from mother natures tumbling machine. After breaking up some fractured bedrock I'm able to use the Gold-N-Sand X-Stream Hybrid hand pump. Lifting previously locked up black sand concentrates and panning out the gold!

    Haha That's the first time I've been accused of knowing what I'm doing. I'm still learning every time I go out, but this kind of prospecting on this stream and others is my favorite method. I appreciate the compliment and thanks for watching!

    @@prospectingforadventure Half the battle is having the right tools and knowing how to use them. Breaking into those crevices and then sucking the material out is one of the best ways to actually get gold. I see so many miners digging and processing gravel from deep gravel beds with only a shovel and they can't understand why if they find anything it's only flour gold. Kudos. Can't wait to see more of your videos. I live in Portland and would ask to join you sometime, but I can barely hike a block, miles is outside my capabilities.

    Yeah this river doesn't have much in the gravels. Didn't take me long to pick up on this method. I love it! It'll be a couple weeks before my next video. Should be a good 2 part dredging trip in Southern Oregon. After that I have a Montana dredging trip. I should have a couple more trips to the spot I hike into scattered around this late spring into summer.

    Thank you. I bought a waterproof housing for my camera. I'll continue to add more under water shots. That was nice to review the footage on the creek. Lol I normally have an underwater viewer tube when I don't hike in. I'm going back up there in a couple weeks to move the boulders, I can tell the bedrock is fractured under them. After that video it snowed a couple feet up there. Melt baby melt!

    It takes a little bit of practice and patience. Definitely can't stab it into gravel and avoid jams. I like to rake out all of the larger rocks that cause jams. It's been working great targeting concentrated gravel like in the video.

    Have you ever had the plunger fail or anything else with your gold and sand? Do you take a spare plunger?

  • @prospectingforadventure

    @prospectingforadventure

    4 ай бұрын

    No, I haven't. The models currently for sale all have updated one-way valves. The seal on the plunger is leather and needs to be soaked before getting started. Then you just make sure you don't get plugged up. That's why I rake out the larger gravel first.

    Harbor freight tools for like $7 a pair. They really help in the gold water too. I would cation that they aren't the most durable though. Try to use tools to scrape and pull with and they'll last longer.

    The Molalla River and East Fork Lewis rivers are the closest with some gold. Both rivers are difficult to find any decent quantity. Regulations are tricky, it's best to stick to a sluice. Give Dan a call at www.prospectorstreasure.com/ He has a shop in Portland and might know some claims or something with a better chance. He's caught up on regulations too. In Washington you need bare minimum the gold and fish pamphlet. wdfw.wa.gov/publications/02150 Hope this helps.
