it is so nice to have somebody who actually has a clue about how to fish making a video.
Just came back from Upper peninsula and those beautiful wild rainbows and Brooks what colors. I fished and lived in South West Michigan as a kid and fished the Brooks on uncles farm in Rockford. Getting back in the water this year I'm Michigan was step back in great kid memories walking the creek like you did. I fished my way up the lake Michigan rivers from Ludington to Paradise to Ontanagon with my fiancee and she cried when we left Michigan at state line of Wisconsin because it changed from wild back to domestica. We caught bass Pike splake sucker perch rainbows and hunted the abundant mosquito. You make a great video good camera work and details. I subscribed.
Awesome Video. Love your care for the fish, gentle handling and release.

Thanks for stopping by my stomping grounds. As kids we use to catch a few smallies behind the gravel pit, not too long ago I took a trip wading through heading south and ended up getting yelled at by someone who owned property surrounding the area. Took me by surprise, never had that happen before, just headed back towards the bridge.

sorry that happened, it's legal to wade fish anywhere you want in michigan rivers, that person should learn the law.
Thank you, this is so great to be able to watch as an elderly guy who misses being able to tromp up and down a stream with ease.

Nice video! I fly-fish 99% of the time, but have no objection to worm-dunking where regulations allow. I don’t think most people realize there are hundreds of miles of small creeks like this in Michigan. Some are all trout, some are more chubs, but still some decent trout.
I did some work with a local Michigan TU chapter some years ago. We shock-surveyed a small stream, 8-12 feet wide. Lots of 4"-8" browns (we counted, measured, and clipped a fin) BUT... we pulled several 16-20" browns out of that small stream. If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it. Nice vid. Thx.

That’s awesome to hear! My favorite stream is loaded with 8-12” browns . Biggest I’ve caught from it is 16” but I’ve seen a few BIG ones! Keeps me coming back!

Nice video!! You ever go after Native Brook? I fish Northeast Iowa and we have a few streams with native Brooks and it’s a blast catching them. The colors are amazing. I still appreciate our reproducing browns though too. Look forward to more videos!

I use 12 dollar water shoes and shorts and a pack pack. Typically you don't need but a few lures if you know how to get your snags free. I carry usually a bag of swivels and snaps and a few different spinners pliers and scissors. A net is a must too so you don't kill these fish by keeping the. Out the water and handling them with salty hands

As you enter the river bank at a public location you are legally allowed to fish up and down the river in private property as long as you are within the defined the river bank and your only purpose is fishing. You can walk up on pro age property to avoid log jams And get around dams well so asong as your purpose it fishing and you do not disturb anything in the property that means. It even lifting a rock for a worm. You have to go from point a to point b in Order to legally tresspass. Outlined in the guide books. People get mad but nothing they can do. Tell them to call DNR and they'll help sort it out. Always a good idea to ask though to gain respect in the community and you definitely don't want to walk into someone shooting range
Thats how it is most days in that creek. Please don't give it all away though bro. I really don't really see any fisherman around here much though. Its kinda a tough one to fish. Takes some skill. I'm always finding snagged up lines that people are to lazy to get. But, I get free shit out of it. Lol Let me know next time your around. Id gladly go with you. Show you the real honey holes!! Just as long as its kept secret! Ha ha Today's the last day and I'm going for some night trout. Biggest night brown out of there was 23 inches. Keep it up and good luck buddy!
