Sure enjoyed this lesson. I've been playing for over 60 years and to this day, I continue to discover that I'm never too old to learn. Thanks for this great video lesson. Side note... Where was KZread when I was growing up? We learned from our fiends and by using our ear instinct while listening to records LOL!

Easily one of the best electric blues rhythm lessons!! These types of lessons make me move on from all my previous boring 'regular' type of comping someone over a nice progression and digging and delving to add in so much coolness and uniquely fitting concepts over all my playing! Thank you once again Jules!! Jim C.

Still the best guitar channel on tube. I notice that you are focusing on the “pentatonic box” notes to noodle in the beginning which makes sense.

On #4 its subtle but I see you are playing the G E and C pentatonic shape highest end notes. Jumping over D shape because it’s high end is a 5 which we normally don’t bend. Also on the G shape you start on a non pentatonic note (2) to bend into b3. Very cool. Important to get to know the feel of the correct notes to bend in the pentatonic 😊. What is nice about minor pentatonic is that all but the 4 are chord tones. Yet the four (universal bend) can be bent into blue or 5.

What about not being able to bend the thumb over the 6th for muting?

The thumb wrap is impossible for those smaller hands. What's the option?

Don't lay your thumb pad flat on the E string. Use the inner side of your thumb.

It's almost a certainy at least 60%of players can't do the thumb over the bottom two strings while the index bars the top 4 and the other fingers wiggle around the 1st minor pentatonic box high strings.

for sure that's difficult to do specially with small hands or short fingers. It took me years to be able to do it. I still can't do it with fatter or wider necks.

@@ancientxtitan9313 The shape of the hands has a big say, too. Some have problems or can't get a 90 degree wrap with thumb and index and have to slant the hand in various ways. There's also competing difficulties depending on neck position. Towards the headstock, it's easier to wrap the thumb and index but harder to do the embellishments. Towards the bridge its vice versa.

Don't lay your thumb pad flat on the E string. Use the inner side of your thumb. It will allow you to more easily barre GBE strings.
