I just keep finding more videos of 🌟Ren and/or his band ⭐The Big Push 🌟and have yet to be disappointed which is crazy. He is just an absolute creative genius of the highest order. Screech and Jenny were twins. violet their mother was dead their father presumably went to prison for her murder the kids taken into the care of the authorities and at some point separated. Only to meet on the street 14 years later Screech killed Jenny trying to rob her, and was in turn killed by a policeman.

    You got it. Violet was Jenny's and Screech's mother. She was silent from the abuse she suffered. Jenny inherited Violet's silence. Screech inherited his father's violence. They were separated at birth and sent to foster homes. They never knew each other.

    @@RetroQuinReacts Ren is so clever. I've learned from reading comments that Ren did some insta live or something and explained why Patrick wasn't home and his girl was busy... They were together. Also, remember at the beginning, he says Jenny might have had intuition... That could be because she was near her twin (didn't know it of course). There's so much to his lyrics, it's amazing.

    I get frustrated with some reactions when they miss the line "he swung possessed with the devil in his chest"....he killed her. So many miss that, some NEVER catch it, even through the whole story. Also, for "Screech's Tale", it seems that almost no one catches that Screech's girlfriend and his friend Patrick, happen to be "busy", or not available, at the same time. Consider why. Maybe they were together? Patrick wasn't home...was he with Screech's girl at her place and that's why she was "busy"? It adds a whole other layer to the story. Also consider that Jenny and Screech were born side by side, and essentially died side by side, one street apart. Born on the same day (2005), died on the same day (2019). An entire family, mother and twins that never knew each other, wiped out by a cycle of violence. An abused mother, a 14 year old prostitute, and a 14 year old thug/murderer. Powerful stuff. Not sure if you caught it or not, but he did all 3 songs in a single take each, just like "Hi Ren". In the "Violet's Tale", the way he uses the acoustics of his environment to accentuate the song is absolute brilliance. The man is truly special.

    I guess most reactors are listening to this song for the first time and not over and over, most get the gist, and connect the basic story, its a lot to take in really, the originality, the different/new genre, the approach, its like a big bang in music. I forgive and just enjoy the reactions, it's also good to realise that a lot of reactors do like to keep their reactions to a shorter time scale as a lot of watchers will just scroll on past too long a video. I think this was a good reaction that balanced appreciation of the art but also caught the story..but maybe didn't tie up at the end, I liked it though.

  • @dehro

    @dehro

    Жыл бұрын

    to be fair, nothing in the song suggests that Patrick is shacking it up with Screech's girl... we know it because Ren has written about it and has shown other bits of video and made a whole productions of it on instagram and such, and people who have actually read those posts and seen those videos have posted about it on other reactors videos...so it's become common knowledge, but other than that patrick and the girl happened to be unavailable at the same time does not automatically mean they were together... that's just meta knowledge we have and we shouldn't expect someone to catch or know about on their first listen.

    Emotion, pain and tragedy are at the very core of this trilogy of songs. His reaction made it clear that he wasn't getting it or, even worse, that he was getting it but was reacting like a psychopath! He literally laughed out loud, in response to hearing about Violet, as a young child, being sexually abused by her father! That's not a normal response, no matter how you try to paint it otherwise. No other reactor has reacted like this. Yes they've commented on Ren's performance, artistry, poetic lyricism and guitar playing but they all saw and felt the emotion, the pain and tragedy, as any normal empathetic human being would. They definitely didn't laugh at those moments of abuse and violence.

    The first guitar, on Jenny's Tale, is an electro acoustic steel string - the second guitar, on Screech's Tale, is a nylon stringed electro acoustic ( classical guitar ) .. ( you can usually tell by the open headstock - also classical guitars have a wider, flatter fretboard ) The electro acoustic nylon stringed guitar is also used on Violet's tale. ( you get a far better view of the open headstock because of the lighting ) On Classical guitars the 3 treble strings are made of nylon ( the bass strings are nylon but wrapped with metal - so they are heavier ) the softer nylon strings don't cut into your fingers so much and they give the guitar a much softer, more organic tone. If you also note, both guitars have a " cutaway " at the bottom bout of the guitar, affording easier access to the higher frets. This is more usual on electro acoustic guitars. Notice also the steel stringed guitar has a pick guard, classical guitars are usually picked, rather than strummed, so they don't usually require a pick guard. Hope that helps in identifying the guitars Ren is using.

    Can't really like this reaction. I'm sure I'm gonna' get a ton of hate from your haters (but then, that's what they do, right?), but I just can't get over your constant smiling and laughing throughout a very tragic story. To be sure, Ren's plucking skills are off the chart, but there were tons of other things going on in this work of art, specifically, the story. You rightly commented on his playing skills, and you rightly commented on his vocal delivery, but he also wrote this twisted trilogy, a trilogy worthy of E. A. Poe, with its surprise ending. Yeah, you sorta got the gist, but you were so concentrated on the musical portion of his opus that you seemed to ignore too much the actual story, the whole "raison d'etre" of the composition.

    Hey bud, I kinda agree with ThomasJoyce, it was a little odd but arent we all. At the beginning of Violets Tale remember Ren said we have to rewind the hands of time for Violets Tale. So if it were to be played in the correct order it would have been Violets Tale then Jenny then Screech. This is one to go back to on your own time and check out. I like your upbeat attitude and honesty. @@RetroQuinReacts

    I've seen a number of reactors like this. As I replied to another reactor "It's disturbing seeing someone grinning ear-to-ear like clueless fools during the part of the story where a woman is being beaten to death" It's like... tell me you're a complete psychopath without telling me you're a complete psychopath.

    Yet another "reactor" not reacting at all to the horrific lyrics being said. You really grinned and bobbed your head along to "every night he would tuck her tight but never left the room, I'll spare you of the details but I'm sure her mother knew" that is such a dark line and you're like 😀
