This is my first exposure and test run of the Eastonmade Axis Wood Splitter. In this video I talk about homemade wood splitters and how the Eastonmade lives up to the pride and quality that one could expect from their own homemade machine.
Thank you to all the DDD viewers that sent in photos of their homemade wood splitters. I admire all of your work!

You should pay someone a bit of money to give your website a facelift. Would be a good investment I think.
I wouldn't be standing here all hunched over if we had this 40 years ago!! funny stuff
Your dad looks like an amazing guy.

He is great.
I am 75 and I still like cutting and splitting firewood for our home. That is a nice machine!
So, nearly a quarter million people have seen this video so far. Wembley stadium seats about 90K people. Don't know what it costs Eastonmade to send you a loaner machine for a couple of days, but I'm pretty sure it's less than they'd spend on a national TV ad, and they know that this channel has people who are interested in splitting wood. This is the future of advertising.

I think you're probably right. This is well catered to the correct audience. Fortunately though I've got to have the splitter on loan for a good while though now. They're going to have a hard time getting it back from me! :) (It's great I mean)
Everyone I’ve seen on KZread that has these loves them. Congrats Neil!

Ah shucks. Thanks a lot Doug!
seeing the smile on your Dad's face is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
i recently bought a brand new branch chopper called " Rebak Niebieski W102" Made in Poland - powered by PTO of my 30hp 1973 Ursus C330 Tractor . This machine is superb - it is New (cost about 1100 US $) and can chop a dry hard wood like oak to 9cm diameter or 12cm (5inch ) wet wood branches like pine. It really save my precious time
My favorite part was watching Dad and you working together, made me weepy.
What a wonderful family. Your smile says it all I can see all the hard work has paid off. A beautiful peice of property. I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't bending over and in pain. 🤣🙃
Love seeing the old timers inspect the thing like it's a spaceship, great stuff!!
Wow! Great for you, Neil! Enjoy and have fun.
These guys are my kind of people reminds me of how this were between my dad and me years ago he’s been gone for 18 years now and still think about him every day take care
Im up in years ,Dad is right we may not been limping as hard if we had more modern machinery, but built that from a scrap machine and got stuff done, i admire him and please wish him my best, from sunny warm Canada 😂
You Sir are so very very blessed to be working with your father ❤ Just don’t get any better 😊
The smile on your face says it all. The fact that your Dad is there and the family is watching from the yard is great. Your home always looks well maintained and pristine. My Mom wanted a wood burning fireplace in the house we built here in 1966. Dad said he had cut and split enough wood as a kid that wasn't having one. There was a free standing gas log fireplace.

I’ve owned an 036 since the 90’s. Good machine.
.... had to " chuckle " ( at myself ) when you were reminded about your eyewear safety. Seems there was a time I was guilty of forgetfulness, only to be reminded by my kids to do the very same things I preached to them about working smart and safe.
Glad to see you have your dad around to help . Thx for the vid. - Ken
Congratulations Neil, you and your dad certainly deserve the Axis. Andrew Easton has another great ambassador for his product line. A true “win-win” for all involved. Take care

Love that splitter and you are so right, cutting your own wood for heat is so satisfying. I heated our large house on 5 acres of woods for 33 years, using just a maul. Nothing like it!
Great video I know your dad liked it wish I had it when I was cutting wood back in the day I do like your Dads ford tractor we had 2 of those when we were growing up.
Love the gratuitus drone shots
8 minutes of watching de video and went to write this comment, the other video with the big splitter and the big bunch working on it ands then whatching this Axys splitter...wow so satisfying!! but the best was your dad faces when he saw the machine hahahaha Yesssssssssss!!!!!!!!!! Great job Neill nothing like making honest days of living... you have great Dad and family...Merry Christmas ⛄🎄🎄 winter is coming up...
Awesome, TY Andrew !!!
That’s sweet Neil! Thanks to Andrew for sending these out to folks in need!
Love "Dad's" reaction and Approval. My Dad would approve also I'm sure. We did a LOT of lifting to the splitter over about 30 years of heating with wood.
I used to sell firewood and any man puts up firewood, earns his money with hard work.
great video and thanks to Eastonmade for the trial
I think Eastonmade has the best splitters on the market, by far. And this model is just perfect for your needs!
I enjoy the love that you put into this video. Great job. You have a great voice filled with integrity.
My back feels better just watching!!
Hello from Piqua Ohio. Dad approved you can't go wrong. Keep up the great videos. I would like to see Dad running that log splitter.

Love the dad's reactions, firewood is still a family affair. Warm winter ahead. 🪵👍🚜🌴🍁🔥
EastonMade has to be the best out there. Buckin Billy Ray owns one too, And I'm sure your aware of some of the attachments you can get for that. I sure proud you got it "I only wish you got it 40 years ago" Gotta love it...

Thanks Mowerman! I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. Thanks for the continued support of the channel!
That's nice, no bending over , no logs falling over on your toes after they split. Wish I would of seen this setup.before buying my new splitter, it works great but it's the regular style, it does flip up vertically or horizontally but it's too.low.
I had a McCulloch pro Mac 850 years ago . Loved that saw .
Nice splitter. Real back saver.
Thanks mate it looks like an excellent machine (the back saving being an added bonus).
Cannot beat the Axis. Enjoy Neil.
Dad is a Hoot! Great video again.
I'm just getting started with a wood stove, cleaning up around the farm site and splitting with a splitting axe. It started out fun, but I didn't think I'd be burning as much as I am; it's just satisfying to light that fire! Anyway, the manual splitting work has made me realize just how necessary a good hydraulic splitter will be. Thanks for the background and for sharing your insights!
That is extremely beautiful machine Love it 😍 They are the leaders in top equipment that will last several lifetime
Congratulations!! Those are nice splitters & you will enjoy it. Looking forward to more videos.

Great firewood videos! 👍👍 My job and location no longer have me processing firewood. I had a system that worked for me back where I used to live. I had a wood shed attached to the house that held 5 cords, which was one year's worth. Both wood stoves had pass-through wood boxes close to that shed. Each of those pass-throughs held enough wood for two days, and each had a small box on top of them accessed only from outside with enough wood for two more days. At the mid point of my yard, I had a walk through cordwood shed that held 5 cords on each side of the aisle. Behind that, I had log racks that held enough logs, cut into 8 foot lengths, to make 10 more cords of firewood. By the log racks, I had my own x-frame log horses that would hold one log and had preset spots to use a chainsaw to cut the logs into rounds. The rounds were hand loaded onto a 16-ton splitter with a four-way head. I used canvas tarps to be able to collect the sawdust, which I sold, and was able to cover my bar-oil costs. So my heating costs were the gas for the saw and splitter, the gas for my truck to go out in the woods to where I was legally allowed to cut wood, and of course my own labour. I always had five years of wood on hand at the start of any winter. There's a great satisfaction to being self-sufficient and cutting your own wood.

That sounds like a great system!
Happy for ya hope ya enjoy it
I’ve seen their splitters before and really like the design. Not having to bend over or lift the rounds manually is great. Good luck with it. Great video and enjoy your personality.

I live in the city and only burn wood in a firepit. I am quite handy and have an engineering-ish mind and like to watch wood splitting videos among many other interests. The first time I saw a vertical splitter with a table, I knew that was the way to go!! I love to see you, your Dad and family all involved. You are also a good video producer, I'd love to edit for you if you ever need one.
So awesome to be able to see memories of my youth splitting firewood in your video Neil! Thanks again for reaching out to us. Keep up the great videos!

Wow, thank you!
Thanks for another great video Neil splitter looks awesome looking forward to next weeks video
YOU'RE NOT BENDING OVER!!! NOTHING IS FALLING ON THE GROUND TO BE PICKED UP OVER AND OVER!!! I CAN'T LIFT 100 LB ROUNDS ANYMORE!!! I have a couple of logs split length wise and that's were I leave my cut wood to dry. I could lift it with my tractor and set up like you instead of the front loader. Wow!
i used wood and coal to heat my home for yrs till we built our house in 02-03, then with with oil-fired hot water heat. i have spent $3-grand a winter for fuel oil -if my knee hadn't gave out on me in 2001, i wanted to put in a outdoor furnace back then. them are nice splitters for sure, i wood have to agree with ur dad--where was they 40 yrs ago-ha! the nice thing is to get the wood up to the table, without lifting a place to work level, just a all around nice machine-IMO. back when i was working for a LTL trucking outfit, when a splitter came across the dock, we hauled Wolf's back then, man i would just stand and admire them machines great video-thanks.
