Neil Koch: Dig-Drive-DIY

Neil Koch: Dig-Drive-DIY

I'm a weekend warrior, jack-of-all-trades, DIY type of guy that has lots of different interests, most of which involve trucks, tractors and heavy equipment. I cut a lot of firewood, move a lot of dirt and tinker on all types of projects in my shop when I have spare time outside my day job. My goal for this channel is to document and share what an average guy could do with equipment that is typically at any local rental place. I want to be able to share my weekend projects with others and for those that share the same passions as me I hope you'll tag along.

He needs to construct a shallow filtration pool to clean the pond water. Aeration will not be enough. Fill the filtration pool with aquatic plants to clean the pond water.

I wonder if the old joystick can be rebuilt. Also who knows if another used machine wouldn't have some problems too. But damn yea that's an expensive joystick.

For any skid steer operators out there, is the joystick something that is a common problem? Given the cost, I’d be curious to take a broken one apart and see if there’s a way to rebuild them.

if you will consider, im a new viewer here tho. hahha I really enjoy watching the process you do stuff there in the states. I live in the philippines, the way we do things are really different, we dont have the tools for everything. i wish, we can have things and access to tools like you do, we can probably make and plan bigger projects. anyways, just a suggestion. the door to your office can sing outside than it swinging inside and covering your white table. 👍

I really enjoy your story. The way every family should live. I really enjoy watching your Dad and his brother help with the well. Reminded me of my grandfather and how he showed me the traits I have now. Keep up the great work!

just to let you know. Concrete doesnt fully cure until 1 month after pour date. Recommend not driving on it for as long as the 1 month as you can so you prevent future damage.

I learned stick a hour before taking my driver's exam at 15 years old. A state trooper road along with me in my friends car, I forgot to take the emergency brake off and stalled several times but once I figured that out I drove great. Stick shift is way more fun to drive.

As far as your projects go, pick one and work on it everyday like you did the little John Deere tractor. You got that knocked out👍

Why don't you add a little reverse camera on the back of that Tonka? An easy job for you, Neil, so much easier to judge where to dump.

When measuring rock for the garden. One ton of rock, two inches deep, will cover ten square yards, (ninety square feet). A question for your wife, when do you trim your "box" plants round the house.? In Scotland my mother always trimmed the plants on "Derby day", which is a famous horse race at Epson in England which is on the first Saturday in june.

I've been catching up on your videos. You had the blocked drain video a month ago, and put the metal snake down the drain looking for the blockage. A little hint I use, is to attach the cable locator to the snake, so you can follow it, you can even just use a length of fence wire down the pipe. My cable locator is a cheap one, it doesn't tell the depth. The only problem is, that if the wire crosses close another conductive cable, the signal can be running through both. I hope it helps in the future.

You should have borrowed his locator to begin with. You could have used the locator in combination with your snake to trace out that drain run.

You are always going to get people who think that they know better than others that can be true in certain circumstances but above all if you don’t try you will never know and without trying there is never going to be success every time you finish a little more a little bit better it’s all in aid of the bigger picture and the chance to live and learn and succeed in all things that you do props to you good luck in all your future endeavours be it ponds? Or anything who knows you could even try solar energy to heat the water and have tropical fish in your pond? Not saying you have to but the sky’s the limit to your imagination 👍😊👍

Neil, When you were greasing your machine. I thought about ours at work. We have a 324G. There is a grease zerk that is extremely hard to see right at the pivot by cab. You have to stand on a stool to even see it. Just wanted you to know about it.

Easy way to stop your tools from rusting is to throw some of those silica packets that come in shoes and what not. The moisture will go to the packet and not the metal. I have them everywhere.

Man, we are so much alike in our philosophy it's scary. The only car payment I have is a 2019 suburban premier with 85k miles I bought for my wife because it's her dream vehicle. Paid cash for my other 4 vehicles with over 200k miles. I bought the two trucks with over 200 and they are solid. I follow your strategy, but one more item I look for are worn out cruise control buttons. If those have wear and the rest of the interior is clean, I figure gentle hwy miles. Thx for videos!

2 months? And you spent $1600 to fix the skid loader? How much is a paint job for a dump truck? Wait, why would you even paint a dump truck? Okay, $4k? 6k if ya wanna a nice color? That dude would have to pay $15k to grade his property. Now, if you can make to difference on KZread ad revenue, I guess.

Update to my first reply. The solenoid pilot oil is easy to find. The valve will be OK. Just check and replace the solenoid, not the valve

  • @123456bpb
    @123456bpb2 күн бұрын

Had the same identical problem with a Komatsu excavator. It was the pilot oil supply that was being interrupted. The pilot oil supply has a solenoid controlled valve and the solenoid was faulty. Komatsu wanted $1300 + for the part. Amazon had the part for $50. Ebay had the part from China, also $50. I ordered both as I was in a hurry. Problem fixed and two years later still works. It was somewhat difficult to diagnose because Solenoids are typically not intermittent when they fail. Good luck. (pilot oil operates everything hydraulic)
