Besides the garage, I have my office full of stuff plus two storage units and while I thrift them all from time to time, I could be more determined like you!! Appreciate the inspiration my friend!! I save a lot of boxes - cutting bottom tape and flatten stack by approximate size in three stacks. With my new boxes costing 80¢ to $1.20 this adds up. I have found several “lost” listing; what bothers me more is “ghost” Ebay relistings of sold items.

    Are you going to video the yard sale? I'd like that. We all have our stacks of stuff. I just call my house the Ebay warehouse where I sleep. My parents died after being married for 71 years and all that 71 years of stuff came to my house. They died 13 years ago and I am STILL going through it all. And I had 3 booths in an antique mall that suddenly went out of business and I had to get it all to my house within a couple of hours. And then there are the 20,000 books. It's a disaster. I'm doing the best I can being disabled. But it's crazy. Especially since I'm disabled. I simply cannot do it all by myself and there's no one to help. I just do the best I can do and shrug my shoulders and say, "Oh well."

    I love it when someone sends you a low ball price as an offer and then someone comes in and pays full price for it! I had that happen one ime and I was looking for a box to fox the odd-shaped book. It took me a minute and when I finally found a decent box, I went back to the laptop and the same person had paid full price. He thought I was ignoring him and he wanted the book so he paid full price. He didn't know I was just looking for a box. I sometimes put on my listings "Your purchase helps support a disabled senior citizen and her dog" but that doesn't matter to most. They just want to see if they can get a book for $1. Women very rarely send offers, but men will try to get it for nothing. Like it's a game. They think it's fun to screw over a disabled senior citizen. They will send a $1 offer and I will send them a counter offer of $6.99 saying I can break even with $6.99, but I can't lose money and $1 won't even pay my Ebay fees. So they send me a counter offer of $1.50. Idiots.

    Sell women's clothes and tell me women don't send lowball offers.

  • @dechinta

    @dechinta

    5 күн бұрын

    @@Thathustlebus I use to sell women's clothing and I don't remember anyone sending a low offer, but I sold as auctions rather than set prices. The worst situation I ever had was when I had only been selling for a couple of years and a woman told me she wanted two of the dolls I was selling, but she would NOT pay $40 for shipping. She said she bought those dolls all the time and she had never spent more than $10 each shipping on a doll, so she wouldn't pay over $20 shipping for the two dolls. I had only been selling for a couple of years at the time and I caved. I would never do that now. I told her it would cost AT LEAST $40 to mail them. She said no, it would NOT, to TRUST her. I caved and said okay and she paid for the dolls plus $20 shipping. I took them to the post office and it cost me $46 to mail them. I came back home and emailed her and told her that, like I said, it cost at least $40, as a matter of fact, it cost $46. No response. She couldn't even be bothered to give positive feedback. That hurt. NOW? If that happened now, I don't argue with a customer. I will tell them the price of postage and if they got smart with me and told me off like that woman did, I would just block her and let it sit there and sell to someone more reasonable. But I was a newbie and didn't know I had options. Now that I've been selling for over 25 years, I don't take any crap off of anyone. I was too afraid of getting negative feedback back then. So I gave in to whatever anyone suggested. Plus, I used auction instead of Buy It Now, so there isn't as much stress to get it sold within a week. But yeah, women send low ball offers too, but, to me, way less than men. I sold an antique desk on FB Marketeplace a couple years ago and a man drove over in a $100,000 truck. Said he was the president or whatever they're called of the school district in a neighboring town. He saw me standing there, a disabled senior citizen and said since he's had to drive 20 minutes to get there, I should give him a $25 discount. Since I have become disabled and am a senior citizen, I get way more low ball offers than I ever did before. And that is usually men. Like they get a kick out of cheating a disabled senior out of money. And in the meantime, I am going to food banks and having to ask for help from my friends for medical bills, etc. Very demeaning. And then some dude in a $100,000 truck thinks he can't pay over $50 for an antique desk that I should've charged at least $200 for. And how do I know his truck costs $100,000? He was bragging about it. Who even knew a truck could cost $100,000???? Oh, I could go on and on and on, but I already have.

    Wow, great video Mike, I have been watching your videos for a long time now. I live in Roseville, just east of Sacramento and I can see a lot of similarity's in how our garages look. I have gone to 4 large metal shelf/ racks from Home Depot and about 28 of the black and yellow lid bins, all full of items listed. I use a workbench to hold my items that need to be listed and I have a separate stand up workbench that I use to photograph my items. I only sell on Ebay and I have just under 1k items listed. I find good items to sell and plenty of them, I just don't find the same value of items that you find and I only have a few books listed for sell. I like that you can use your kitchen counter as your photograph area, but I think my wife would kill me!!😃 I have gone to buying boxes for smaller items to keep my "MT Boxmore" small. I still accumulate a lot of boxes from Amazon for the larger items, I call them gift from Amazon. Keep of the great videos! Mark
