Wish I had been able to flash my 22 model, but they changed the plugs for that year and couldn’t find anyone in Australia to do it for under $3000 AUD and was too nervous to send the ecu off. Ended up swapping it for an mt09 as the on/off vibe of mine stock was hurting my bad back I think. Great video. I had heard that a reflash of the ecu really brings these 900's to life. I kind of wished you had taken this bike to a track for a before and after. Not because it was a track mod but because you are not a stupid rider who blatantly breaks traffic laws. Every time you almost got to where the meat of the ecu flash worked , you had to slow down. I saw you wheeling just by throttling the bike not clutching it first. Something it would'nt do before. Anyway, great to see the ecu flash did make a substantial difference. The popping off throttle sounded cool as heck. I LOVE that pipe sound. Reminds me of the old four into one chrome Kerker pipes Kawasakis were modded with so long ago. Nice bike.

the" pops and crackles" are fuel/ air mixture issues when they happen while decelerating off throttle. The mixture is too lean, and this occurs often after adding a less restrictive exhaust and or airbox and not changing the air fuel mixture by jetting or mapping. It can also cause or can be detonation which is not good for your engine. To me it sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard and I'd want a new tune

Hey dude, new rider here as well and I went through the same. Only had my bike for a little over a month now. I took things in small steps. My very first ride on my new bike was scary. I barely could hit 20 MPH without feeling anxiety. I felt really embarrassed and felt like I wasted a ton of money getting into this. But I pushed forward with it. I didn’t want to, but I got on my bike again the next day and the day after that and I just rode around my neighborhood. I only did 2 miles worth of riding each day but I began to feel more comfortable. I eventually hit 45 MPH and it wasn’t that bad. What I realized was that I was focusing too much on the sides of me and the actual road. That made me feel sick to my stomach. But then I tuned it out and focused on everything else, the ride and the thrill of seeing the outdoors from a new perspective. Now I’m hitting 70-80 MPH on freeways with little to no anxiety. I do get insane adrenaline lol but it’s all good. Take it slow. After the neighborhood, I took it on the Main Street when things had cleared up a bit. Then I took the Main Street when it got a little busier. Then I got on the freeway when it wasn’t too crowded. Then I got on when there was a bit of traffic. Then I rode at night when it was a little after dark but not too much traffic. Baby steps and you’ll likely be alright. Don’t be ashamed to feel scared too. It’s a normal feeling and it is actually good so you don’t do stuff you know you shouldn’t be doing like going too fast beyond what is safe and making maneuvers that aren’t safe too. Take it slow and make goals for yourself, and don’t worry about how small they might seem. You got this 👍
