THIS SHOW IS AMAZING! FALLOUT Reaction 1x5 - "THE PAST"

Ойын-сауық

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE??? 😱😱😱
There's a huge mystery around vault 31 and Norm is just about to find out, or that we hope! 😲 We are so intrigued by that, we can't stop thinking of theories 🤔
Also, it's so mind blowing and sad that humanity keeps destroying everything again and again 😓 we thought there had been one bombing and now we don't know how many of them there were! 😕
We feel bad for Lucy because she trusts Maximus and he's not telling the truth 😒
Thank you so much for watching, we hope you enjoy this and have a wonderful day, love you! 💖

    Something to remember about Maximus is that he was raised in a fanatical militaristic cult that is already on him for potentially sabotaging Dane (the person back at camp who had their foot ripped out of the boot). In the game lore, the Brotherhood of Steel is portrayed as very unforgiving and dogmatic, which is probably why Maximus is so paranoid and makes questionable decisions.

    Algorithm-boosting long comment. ☺ Glad you guys are having fun, I'm back in Fallout 3 because of it. Here we see both the bad parts of Maximus' snap decision-making and trust issues (Thaddeus) and the good (the Fiends). For reference: he lied to Lucy about his name because he knows literally nothing about her. Trust is a rare commodity in the Wasteland, especially with a secret that could get you killed, and he had just burned himself by telling the truth. For the suit, there is an internal release (at least in the games). Maximus still hasn't read the manual. 😆 It's also why he's a better shot out of the suit. He knows about the external suit release because it's how he got Titus out originally. This show is so well-written, it's crazy. All the details and explanations for the mysteries are there, and all the pieces fit together.

    Thank yo for commenting! Right! We see Maximus trying so hard to make the suit work, and for some part, it does. But we feel like he's so much better without it. Maybe it's something he's not ready to accept yet.

    17:00 The show's writing is next level. Up until know Maximus seemed untrustworthy, with the lies, letting Titus die, attacking Thaddeus when he had objections to the plan, etc. But here, he takes Lucy's gun, shoots the two fiends, and *immediately* gives the gun back to Lucy. And the show doesn't make a big deal out of it at all, to the point that a lot of people miss the significance: untrustworthy people are themselves not trusting, but Maximus clearly trusts Lucy. So if he doesn't have trust issues in general, why did he do all the other "bad" things? Because he is *utterly terrified* of the Brotherhood of Steel. He has been in full-on fight or flight survival mode this entire time, and that's why he has been making bad decisions. (This is just my personal interpretation, I have no sources to back it up.)

  • @Scyth0r

    @Scyth0r

    Ай бұрын

    Yep, he clearly 'wants' to trust people, but he keeps getting burned. Also the people yelling 'don't trust him' when he asks for the gun completely overlook that he gives it right back, despite being totally unarmed at that point. 🙂

  • @NerdishReact

    @NerdishReact

    We agree! He just needed to get to know Lucy a bit better to know he could trust her. But when it comes to The Brotherhood, things are more complicated. We can see his character developing thanks to him being in other situations besides The Brotherhood.

    9:50 It’s not the same thing. Lucy is taking radaway for radiation poisoning. The Ghoul takes “Vials” to keep him from going feral. If it was the same I think everyone would just call it what it was instead of vials. Also the radaway wouldn’t help the ghoul at all since ghouls regenerate while irradiated. Taking radaway would make him vulnerable to wounds.

    Ghouls are not invulnerable, not even glowing ones (not in the show yet). Trust me, I've unlived quite a few of them in my days, and I'm suspecting so have you. The regenerative process from radiation works, but at a much slower rate. The reasons "our" ghoul appear invulnerable sometimes, is ref "very, very large bucket of drugs".

    Shady Sands is a big deal in the first two Fallout games, you spend a lot of time there. It was originally founded by people who left a Vault, so seeing it as a crater was massive for old-school fans.

    Late to the party, as usual... I think Maximus' difficulty (at this point in the series) is that he wants very much to be heroic, but experience has taught him to survive at any cost. So whenever he is faced with a big decision, these two headspaces conflict and he has to choose which one he's going to be. So far, he's had bad luck with these choices.

    Betty: "the raiders destroyed so much, but not our spirit!".... yeah Norm knows Vault 32 personel died 2 years ago, killed each other, commited self harm, etc. Also he knows during Vault 32 renewal they destroyed the terminal Norm saw her mom's pipboy opened the vault for the raiders. Also "I buried it with her, me and your father".... Might be truthful! Remember episode 1? they carried the fallen to the vault 33 "compost" room. "buried" most likely means surface.... The voting most likely were digitally manipulated for 200 years so in the secret voting always vault 31's representative won in vault 33 every single time.

    The whole 'bombs fell when I was a kid thing' was REALLY confusing at first. I personally think this is one of the few mistakes in the script; if nothing else Lucy should have said something like 'what, you're 200 years old? Dude.'

  • @MolnarG007

    @MolnarG007

    The script is perfect. Lucy thinks Maximus was taught lies. Bombas fell 200+ years ago. Then she finds out NCR, not only humans survived on the surface but there are huge factions, civiliations without the vault's reclamation day. And to make things clear they again showed Maximus's memories as a kid sop we realise too a new nuclear explosion happened 10-15 years ago.

    We were definitely confused and were already thinking about how the timeline had gotten so messed up, but it made sense in the end. As viewers we don't want to think something so horrible as the bombing could happen again, but we are confronted with the reality of how easily history repeats itself.
