I mean... This is just how Shaman has been literally the entire game's existence. They've never had an actual identity for Shaman so it's always been like 80% random garbage and 20% stupidly broken OP cards that make them dominate the game. Shaman is the mirror of Paladin, who also has never had an actual identity but instead gets 80% random high power cards and 20% useless garbage.

I was hoping for some cool Elementals for Shaman this set since there were some strong-looking neutral elementals revealed so far and I'd love to be able to play elemental shaman. Meltemental doesn't really do it for me.

Meltemental has synergy with Moorabi, every time you play it you get another copy of it.

@@darkhippo6222 Meaning it enters play, it's text activates and it freezes. Text doesn't do anything before a minion enters play unless it specifically states such.

@@darkhippo6222 It might be coded as a 'get' frozen, I'm not sure though. There's the Mammoth that's permanently frozen (until you cast a Fire spell), not sure if anyone's tested that but if Moorabi works with that it should work here.

Hopefully the demon hunter cards were designed for shaman

Elemental shaman doesn't want meltemental, for pretty obvious reasons. Evolve shaman doesn't really exist, and even if it did it won't want Matching Outfits. Naga shaman doesn't exist, and if it did it still won't want natural talent. Spell school shaman doesn't have a wincon, there's no reason for you to specifically build around that package, and there isn't really a deck for it to support. This entire shaman set has basically 3 or 4 okay cards, and the rest take inspiration from moorabi.

Really disappointed by Shaman this expansion, no win conditions and cards seem really weak. They tried to just copy and paste sif mage but worse and without a win condition.

So, what happens if you have that minion that makes your minions not freeze with the minion that is permanently frozen? Would it be able to attack as it would be not frozen or would it not be able to attack due to it being frozen?

It would not be Frozen while you control Living Dragonbreath, after Living Dragonbreath dies, it will Freeze again.

Wow... So with Buttons being specifically about drawing cards from different spell schools... DK gets access to a single additional spell school from Shaman... Like, really? Why are all these Shaman spells untyped? Not only does it suck for DK not being able to get Buttons value, but it sucks for Shaman who has to spend more resources to get the spell schools for their synergy cards...

@@locogato3488 Magma is good enough as a "tutorable"" board clear in DK. I dunno if spell school/Buttons DK is a real deck, but if it is it will run malted just to have buttons draw an extra card. The nature spell... technically the above applies, but it's quite bad in DK. Malted is overcosted, but at least it's an effect you want, Talent isn't. If Siren song had a spell school (other than frost/shadow for obvious reasons), I think we'd be looking at a real deck, not insane but real, as you'd be very happy to tutor that up with buttons in a spell school deck. The whole idea falls apart when you need to naturally draw the Siren song or the deck falls apart.

Meltemental in Frost DK gives them the discount on the 4/4 and the extra draws right?

meltemental + snowshredder could be a pretty good turn 4 play for a more aggressive deathknight deck

I can't say they'll be very good but they definitely are useable in death Knight, death Knight has many different spell schools it can use in rainbow, blood fel shadow and proc these things. The frozen package also works with the permanently frozen elemental. And having transform and random spell generation in death Knight is fun to try. Even if the cards aren't any good I wouldn't get sad and write them off yet, they might be fun, wait and give them a shot

The Tourist’s effects are made to have synergy with the class cards it’s touring. It seems rare that the effect the Tourist have also supports a previous archetype from the class it’s from.

Agreed. DK has like two spells schools in class. So if they want to use the turist to it's full potential they are required to run Natural Talent and the drink fire spell, that have zero sinergy with eachother...

The chances of rolling enough of it’s tokens are low, and if you play Cookie preemptively it’ll be killed before you got value. It seems good for trading though, but it’s easy to take down so likely it’s ability will proc once.

It would simply not be frozen while Living Dragonbreath is in play. Once Living Dragonbreath leaves play, it'll Freeze itself.

I like that after giving mage rainbow spell theming all the support cards they add are for shaman

question. When i have a tourist in my deck. That mean i can have also 1 card from another class in my deck. Also like the legendary here mean i can have a demon hunter card in my shaman. But what hapen when i have this frog in my deck, and than put a tourist from the demon hunter in my deck what allows a priest card? did than meani can than have a demon hunter and priest card in my shaman deck? Because i have 2 different rourists from 2 different classes in my deck

I believe you cannot add other class tourist cards, Those are the one card you can't add using your own class tourist.

you can have as many cards as you want from another class, but only from this expansion. Tourists are also 1 per deck, so no tourist into tourist chains.

Meltemental *could* see play in shaman because of elemental synergies, but it's more likely to slot into DK with all those new freeze cards.

7:02 This is an outdated version. Cookie became a Pirate once they added dual-type minions.

How does meltemental interact with the elemental that prevebts minions from being frozen?

It will transform Reska into a new Reska and summon a copy of it.

The new Shaman archtype is just random everything. RNG the deck. Randomly generate this, random spell into random spell, my creatures die to random into something else. The only element of the deck that isnt random is that the creature usually costs 1 more.

Or a Dirty Rat for 1 more Mana that gets 1 extra attack and no need to deal with a big Minion that it might pull out. Dirty Rat can attack, but let's be real, Dirty Rat's rarely deciding a game that way. It's a stellar defensive card. But aggro will have to be really strong for it to work.

Idea. One mana " for the rest of the game,you and your minions can't be frozen or transformed.

Holy crap, the Demon Hunter tourist card looks nothing spectacular on paper but I feel like in practice this is going to be one of the really annoying cards to deal with. It's low cost to start, there will probably be multiple ways to bounce/copy it and you end up with turns after turns of board flood, especially when both Shaman and DH have so many good quality low cost rush minions.

Matching Outfits is too highrolly and expensive, though it's bound to create some funny highlights for Trolden.

Shaman is a meme class at this point. With good ring it’ll be mediocre, bad rng it’ll be laughable.

I'm always hoping that Evolve Shaman will return. But this may not be it.

I assume playing DK with Buttons and Carefree Cookie doesn't give me access to Demon Hunter cards.

So up today the only class that has really aquired something good is warlock the other class have a bunch of meh cards

I can hardly see a reason to build a DK - Shaman Tourist deck. The 'oomph' justification just isnt there, or rather not being seen by me compared with the other classes. IMHO, for now it just seems like a trap to elevate pack sales or funnel f2p players into spending.

Yay! Finally, an affordable Shaman Elemental! Boo! It's garbage! Yeah I dunno if it makes the cut for an Elemental Shaman. It's absurdly defensive, aggro is gonna hate it. But if you're going for Skarr you really want to damage your opponent somewhat beforehand, against control it does 0. I'll try it out because I play in Wild and like to make aggro Rogue cry, but my hopes aren't very high for it. Maybe if Pirate Rogue TOTALLY TAKES OVER THE META in Standard as some fear, you'll want to run this.

Meltamental is a 5 star card control shaman elemental shaman can be slower, I think it’s a crazy good card best I’ve seen so far

TLDR Shaman got Random. A bit Mana cheat and the drink. Can shaman just get the next expansion instead? 4 Mana random. 3 Mana mana cheat on 2 Random cards. 3 Mana 2/2 Legendary random with minion prerequisite. 3 Mana 3/8 frozen minion. 7 Mana 4/4 Random 5 Costs. 4 Mana 3/3 some mana cheat. 5 Mana 4/8. 2 Mana 2 Random cards. Conditional 5 Mana Legendary. And the drink. Make the random cards atleast discover.... I can see a shaman deck that just spits out random crap like a degen as if Nature shaman wasn't degen. You just start the game and don't know what your objective or win condition is because the randomness either sucks or is infuriating.

I was so certain the second half of a shaman was going to be murloc based. Given that at the beach expansion and we haven’t seen many Murlocs yet, I feel like the mini said it’s going to be Murlocs

These shaman cards are such a bunch of random craps with no clear direction and win condition. No wonder shaman has to play Reno and it is their only decent Tier 3 deck before Reno is nerfed. Shaman will again be in the dumpster, while the 2 top classes will always get additional powerful ramp , mana cheat and card draw cards
