I've often wondered... What if we were actually playing as Psycho Mantis, in the process of taking over the mind of Venom? That we are literally seeing the third person perspective of another character from Mantis' perspective? Hence the name "The Third Boy"? Or at least that this may have been a plot point that Kojima considered.

It’s a true testament to the character design and how in depth the back story really is. Their stories and the overall narrative all weave together with real life historic events. One of the most well thought out but complicated plots in gaming history for sure. Can I ask what music you used in the video please?

I think it has less to do with 1 foreshadowing for 5, and more to do with 5 reinforcing something already hinted at in 1, that being mantis didn't know how or couldn't control his power. In 1 during mantis' little death speech he makes mention that his mother died in child birth, and his father despised him for it. That he thought his father was going to kill him. Then he says "When I came to, the village was engulfed in flame." If anything I think this is what suggests he didn't know how to control his power, and 5 is just building on an already established premise from 1.

I rember Psycho Mantis when he was in the the mind of a psycho killer and that dive him mad. In the end of his life he just wanted to be alone with his own thoughts

It was also mentioned in a codec call during the Fight against Mantis that he dove too far into a serial killer's mind, and in turn, became just like him. Nice to see MGS5: TTP reference that in a cool way.

Because of their loyalty to Big Boss. Sniper Wolf and her fellow Kurds were saved from the Soviets by BB and his soldiers, so she was willing to do whatever Liquid wanted as long as they were supporting Big Boss's "cause"

I was gonna joke about Mantis being a BT now but check this out, from the wiki: “Mantis's psyche was integrated into the mind of BB Corps member Screaming Mantis via nanomachines and hypnosis [...] “Effectively, the spirit of Psycho Mantis was the leader of the BB Corps.” This technology reminds me of the Chiral Network, fusion between technology and spirit. This actually explains quite well why Mantis can control Sahalanthrapus as a child but only throw chairs as an adult. Like Liquid had more control of him during MGS 1.

This makes me think of when psycho mantis mention when his mom gave birth to him, she died shortly after. As a result, his dad "despised" him for it. His dad was the first person who's mind he ever dived into. So he might have controlled him in some way too. I'd like for that to be explored more

Just replayed MGS1 and when Mantis controls Meryl the gesture or emote you could say, that she gives is clearly Liquid's influence. Seems like Liquid was hinted at being in control of Mantis even back then.

This video was alright, but that newest one you guys put out... you're on a slippery slope of becoming a clickbait channel you guys. I implore you, *please* don't go down that road. You're better than that. You've got a dedicated subscriber base, you don't need to resort to desperate tactics such as this. This one could've been "This MGS1 Reference in MGSV is BRILLIANT" to make it more straight-forward. The newer one could've been "Konami Confirms Projects DEEP IN DEVELOPMENT?!" and then left the speculation for the video rather than the title being 100% clickbait by even *implying* that they confirmed MGS and SH games in the works. While it's the most likely given they are their most publicly desired franchises, the title is blatantly misleading. Please you guys... you've been an inspiration to me for over 4 years now. Don't go down this path...

We honestly don't think it's a "desperate tactic" or a "blatantly misleading" Title at all - As you may have seen in this video, we showed exclusive proof through our own correspondence with the community manager back in 2016 heavily hinting that the team was already working on the NEXT Metal Gear. Recent rumors were claiming that Konami were going to sell their IP's, including Metal Gear Solid, as the company focuses on the mobile sector. This is simply not true, since with their latest Tweet, the company basically confirmed that the correspondence we had truly meant that the NEXT Metal Gear could have indeed been in the works since 2016, and it's one of Konami's secret KEY Projects, hence our title - "Confirms NEW Metal Gear in Development?!". Despite other websites' articles covering Konami's news, THIS particular information is our own thing. There's always a fraction of a doubt as with every other announcement, hence placing the (?!) in the title, but for us, it's highly probable that it's now "confirmed" more than ever. With regards to Silent Hill, as we also stated in this video, Akira Yamaoka (as we featured in another video of ours months ago), also strongly suggested that we'll be seeing the NEXT Silent Hill announced in the coming months... Of course, the rumor that Konami were selling their IP's wasn't helping, but Akira's statement now surely aligns with Konami's Tweet, finally giving a ray of hope to the franchise's fans after long years of the series being dormant. While this is overall a good response, and I do understand, this doesn't really respond to my point about this video in particular. Calling it a MGSV reference in MGS1 *is* blatantly misleading, intentional or not. There's no conceivable way that Kojima-san and Murata-san were referencing a game from 20 years in the future, MGSV had a callback to MGS1, that's factually undeniable. Perhaps it's just an oversight in phrasing, but to me having that backwards gives the wrong impression, whether you intended that to be the case or not. Maybe I'm just being a bit hyper-critical about the phrasing, but I take the English language very literally. As someone who is strongly in agreement with the concept from 1984 that the destruction of language creates more opportunity for those on the top 1% to control the bottom 99%, I try my best to communicate my thoughts as clearly and accurately as possible. With that said, I do apologize for saying "desperate tactics such as this", I should have said "desperate tactics such as those" in reference to people who intentionally resort to clickbait tactics. It's just so prevalent on the platform that it's hard not to see something misleading as almost malicious in nature. I realize that it's more of a filler video, and that's cool, everyone makes filler content on this platform. I've got a few filler videos I'm gonna throw out soon on my own channel while I get my first proper video of the year produced. And yes, I agree, it's *basically* confirmed without directly saying that MGS/SH are in development. I think part of me was saying that because I'm at the point that I don't want to build false hope for people anymore. I thought I was on the right track and that when DS came out, there would be this huge revelation. In many ways, there have been, but in others, it led to a lot of people straight up hating me for getting their hopes up or "putting out disinformation" when that was never my intention. So overall, I guess my point was to just be considerate to the fans and try not to build too much false hype. To quote Skwisgar on a later episode of Metalocalypse, "The audience ams a fickles mistress." I've been on the platform for just about as long, though I was 12 when I started making the horrible content I originally had. 😂 But yeah, I guess it was kind of a case of miscommunication on my part and misreading what your intent was. Frankly, I've lost a lot of faith in humanity, so I don't really expect anyone, regardless of tenure on the platform, to stick to a good code of conduct, especially when the going gets tough. With regards to this video, the reason it was named "MGSV Reference in MGS1" is because if we named it the other way round, people simply wouldn't get it as they did... Why? Because as we stated, there aren't many people who knew about this codec conversation in MGS1 before now... On the other hand, Liquid & Mantis' friendship in MGSV is something people are aware of, so naming it "MGS1 Reference in MGSV" would lose all of the topic's sense, since of course, very few knew of the "MGS1 reference" in the first place. You can say there's a bit of an interesting "Time Paradox" in there? Sure, but we don't think it's a "misleading clickbait" at all. It's meant for people to better understand the video's topic. Also, if people thought this was a "clickbait" title with no sense behind it, I personally don't think there'd be such a like/dislike ratio as there is, to the contrary of other content creators' clickbait videos who end up hiding the like/dislike numbers 😉 Thank you for your feedback nonetheless my friend! 😊 - Python & Selkan
