An additional note to the Harmonic Minor and its Latin vibe, one of the most common chord progressions is what you call as the Andalusian Cadence which is vi-V-IV-iii7 (all relative to the tonic of its relative major scale) where the first 3 chords can be covered usually by the minor scale and minor pentatonic while in the 4th chord (that acts as the V7 of the vi chord thus acting as a dominant seventh chord ) you can literally use the Harmonic Minor scale emphasizing the raised 7th or completely using the Phrygian Dominant Mode of the said scale. The iii7 chord resolves back to the iv. This concept is prevalent in flamenco music as well.

He is a master of minor pentatonic and harmonic minor which he mixes that will get you a good exotic feel to the sound, that's why girls loves Santana

I remember when my father came home for a vacation from italy he brought a recorded compilation of santana..europa and samba pa ti is the song i learned to play…😂😂😂iba yung phrasing ni santana..

Santana played lead lines in a modes like Dorian, he often used pentatonic blues scales which i think no one can interpret or explains quite how he does it

Great demo, I like santana's musics he play very well with so emotional touch and the sounding of his guitar is amazing. He paly very clean and well. I think all his compositions are made only on dorian mode. Dorian mode is minor mode, reason of the sadness sound.

Your guitar might need a set up. The strings should be very close to the fretboard and easy to bend.

12:50 can also be interpreted as D dorian if played over the D chord. the dorian relative of A minor. puro dorian hahahahaha. not sure lang how it sounds over a D7 or a D major but I reckon it could be spicy.
