You are not alone. Confession, rosary, Mass, and Adoration are awesome ways to deal with stuff. I recommend praying the whole rosary every day (that’s 4 rosaries a day. One for each set of mysteries) but if you’re just starting, start with one. May the good Lord bless you, and Our Lady keep you

You can escape and you will. I'm a counselor, and there is real free/sliding scale help available in most places. The faith is very powerful and can be sufficient for full recovery for many cases. If yours is especially bad and you've considered hurting yourself, please reach out to community mental health resources in your area. You can ask for Christian based counseling if that's what you prefer, that should be available but you may have to wait to get in and get an assessment. In the mean time, the rosary is powerful and I found great solice during my own suffering. When I kept my eyes on the crucifix, my suffering seemed less. I hope you exhaust your resources. What kind of chronic pain is your husband suffering from? I healed from years of "chronic pain" in my arm, went to doctors, surgeons, did daily exercises, I did an incredible amount of things. Nothing helped, until I at one day found the solution.

The perfect time for the most important month of the year. Amen.

I like to listen to this while I do my daily prayers. I had just finished mine… I was feeling terrible about the state of sin I was in, and felt ashamed to pray or go to Mass tomorrow. So I sat there and professed my sins to God right then and there with tears in my eyes. I didn’t want to miss the Eucharist and I didn’t want skip my daily prayer because of what was on my heart. So after I confessed, I read from the Bible as a penance. AND WOULDN’T YOU KNOW!! THE NEXT READING FROM MY JOURNAL WAS LUKE 15:11-32, WHEN THE SON CAME BACK TO HIS FATHER AND THE FATHER REJOICED!!! ❤😂 (God You are so awesome!) If we had to do a prayer if we couldn’t the Eucharist during Covid, we sure as heck can do a prayer for Confession with just God. I felt like I had to share this and profess my joy

Okay perfect! Sorry I just thought your comment could be dangerous to less educated Catholics. You mentioned not wanting/not being able to receive the Eucharist (which is only true if your sin was mortal.) and therefore, it seemed like you were encouraging people to just "Pray" and ask forgiveness by themselves, and forget about the confessional. I remember "old" ladies telling me this when I was a young parent...but it is true. It doesn't feel like it, but again, our feelings are not the things to listen to as they are fleeting. Pray Jésus to heal you from this trauma, ask he give you the ability to forgive as he forgave you on the cross. Persevere in this prayer, and I assure you he will fill you with his healing love and you will be sanctified. I say it to you because I am myself soign through this process of healing and forgiveness, and I noticed God purifying my heart and filling it with his love. I also noticed that my chronic anxiety and panic attacks start to dissapear, I have more and more peace. And I sin less, and now I can forgive, thing that I thought would be impossible for me because I tried by my own strength for years. But this is a true and intimate relationship with God that will bring you closer to him. His heart is beautiful, his love is... Amazing. Go run to his loving arms, he will give rest to your soul.
