@doug112244
Ай бұрын
@jordanlambourne5230 once you put the transfer case in low range the engine and transmission are out of the equation. Besides if I remember correctly that engine has been worked on and makes 250 HP which is more than a lot of trucks make. My 1990 F350 had a 7.3l diesel and made 170HP, my 1989 F250 with a 5.8l gas motor makes 210. A lot of 50s single axle dump trucks has inline 6-cylinders that made less that 150 HP. A 25 HP farm tractor with enough weight on the front to keep it from going up into the air would move that trailer. I once moved a 70' house trailer with a 50HP tractor. A guy I used to work for helped put more than one 70' house trailer in position with a John Deere A which was also 26 HP

15:42 Matt and team! Majority of vehicles will have the traction button and when just pressed, it will turn some nanny’s off but not all (usually a stability control). When pressed and held (usually 5-15 seconds) it will turn off all nanny’s. I can confirm this works on Hyundai’s, Ford, Toyota, Subaru, Ram, and I would expect it to work on GM products.

The trick to easy cleaning after "mudding" is spraying everything with a good coat of cooking spray. That oil coat will help the mud fall off after. Works everytime. Sure it isnt cheap but its easier to clean after. And if you set one of those wand style sprinklers underneath and let it run, it will fall off. Or just hook to a fire hydrant for the pressure and volume.

Awesome video. Condolences for your ears & that new transfer case...
When I had a Subaru Forester I was constantly amazed by how well it handled in slick, greasy mud. Even with the traction control/ X mode on. Their AWD system does a really good job of evenly distributing the power. I'd take it over my truck every time in mud or wet snow. Especially once I put better tires on it.
The long press in the Subarus does help! Swapping ends is common thing. Keeping the rpm higher but lower wheel speeds is really good on them.
on a lot of the newer cars the trac control is two mode. Short push will let you spin as long as you go straight and a 10-15 second push is full off for hoony funs.
So.....the Prius is an off-road buggy now eh? Who knew!? 😄😅 The Banana & your team though....never cease to amaze the us. Well done!

Thank you Matt and son for the adventure and seeing some beautiful scenery !
Great to see the teamwork between father and son, one of my favorite Matt’s videos.
I too played in the mud in high school with my buddies and all our trucks, then I learned how much it costs in cleaning time and repairs, and very rarely will I go near mud anymore 😂
We just stayed out at Under Canvas! Probably very close to when you filmed this! I thought about you all as we drove through Hurricane! Told my wife and kids all about Sand Hollow and how people get stuck all the time!
It was fun seeing "Matt's Off Road Recovery" gang on "Vice Grip Garage" ... 👍👍👍
One of the last real shows in this type of sphere. I could name the fake ones, but we seen them as they have to invent content and make their lives look better than everyone elses. Stay real Matt and crew.
I really love how you help and guide your son into becoming a young man. In this day in time a large majority of fathers are absent from there responsibility oof being a daddy. You Mr.Matt are a very good father and man!
Matt, Your new shop space would be much better if you had an overhead crane set-up. Lifts are great, but adding the ability to pull out engines etc. from above is a huge improvement! When you need it, you need it!
Oh my gosh…..I Hate Mud, but I couldn’t stop watching. Well done Matt. 👍👍
Really enjoyed the “morning in the life of” video. You guys seem very comfortable together.
Awesome episode. Matt is like the patron saint of deep mud recovery.... respect all the way.
