This Puzzle Game Tests ALL Five Senses! - Sensorium
Ойындар
Sensorium Part 1 - sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste. These are the themes of the puzzles we're faced with. How exactly do you integrate some of these senses into a video game? Only one way to find out.

Gonna try out a wide variety of lesser known games this week. All of them may be amazing, or none of them may be. These are planned to be one-off videos, unless any of the games gets a widely positive reception. Enjoy!

We didn't even see anything from the touch section. It's nice that you think it's uninteresting and repetitive and it may well be for you, but we didn't even see a single puzzle so puzzles we thought may be interesting don't even get showcased. By all means edit out him walking between areas because those are not puzzles. The editing was overboard here, we missed like half the game.

On the one hand the puzzles in this game seemed a tad repetitive and memory based, but I also really like the interconnectedness of the levels, it's almost baba-esque in a way, and the theming is cool if maybe not executed that well in how the puzzles play. I think overall this might be more fun to play then to watch, but also I watch for you, so I wouldn't complain on more of this game

In recent videos it seems like you've been trying to keep the pace extremely fast. Why'd you skip, like, all the non-memorization parts of the sound AND taste sections? "Mixing" was the whole point of the taste section. Also I really liked the touch section :(

Ya, I really didn't like this. If I wasn't down to watch someone solve sometimes boring puzzles I wouldn't be watching this channel. The Witness, but somehow more pretentious in its premise while being far more underwhelming
The idea for this game seems so cool but I think the fact that it's limiting itself to each sense is making it difficult to design good puzzles. In The Witness you had similar sound and visual sections and those worked really well. I feel like all the sections that didn't work were mostly senses that you don't actually use when playing a game. I like the theme, but I don't think it's a theme that translates well. Also: including every sense in a game is one of the best ways to make your game inaccessible to a lot of people 😂
@SpencerTwiddy
2 жыл бұрын
Bro not a lot of people can’t use their senses
@emdivine
2 жыл бұрын
@@SpencerTwiddy Uh, but some people can't. That's what accessibility is all about. Most people have full use of their legs, but we still have ramps and lifts for those who don't. Accessibility for games is similar, for instance if you're deaf you can't do the cat meow one or the dark room at the end of the hearing segment. Most of the rest of hearing had panels lighting up though.
@Rogeryoo
2 жыл бұрын
I mean, a person with no taste or smell isn't affected in any way in this game and don't think not having a sense of touch is even possible. A blind person isn't going to play this, but a visually impaired might, though the puzzles don't require being able to see well, just see at all. The light one had help for colourblind people, after all. The only people that would be affected in a realistic way is for deaf people.
@martijnp
2 жыл бұрын
@@Rogeryoo The smell area is probably not doable for people with colorblindness though. The only sense in this case that wouldn't stop you from playing is feeling or smell. Besides, it was more of a joke than anything lmao
@Rogeryoo
2 жыл бұрын
@@martijnp ah, sorry, the joke went over my head. I also just saw the parts Tyler showed, and only the first one had colour, but they also had different shapes, so it equaled. But now that I think about it, the smell area is also impossible, since you wouldn't see what colours of "smell" correspond to what, so oops.
This game seems like it would be really cool, fun, and interesting…. once VR gets to the level where taste, touch, and smell can be replicated.
this is a pretty crazy concept. i feel like it would work better as a real life game, but this game pulled it off shockingly well.

The puzzles here almost felt like the Witness to me- things in some areas opening up other areas through knowledge (and the little antennas that you'd light up by completing an area, as well.) Interesting, that in the lack of being able to reproduce taste, smell, and touch, that they would choose to *invoke* those sensations instead. When in the taste area I felt myself being able to picture the taste of blueberry, lemon and lime that it showed. Same with the C A K E.
