Well there is at least one other mod that is set to release in late 2021, and like 2 more after that which still haven't released on Steam

Alternative title: Tyler flexes on his viewers for 17 minutes straight about his 200 IQ while playing one of the best portal mods ever constructed.

The vanilla portal movements were already bending my brain. Now I need a tylenol.

Not sure if this counts as a spoiler. I'm not sure if you know, but in the game, Aperture Science implanted a speaker into the test subject's brain by removing some of the cerebral cortex so they would be able to talk to you even from a different timeline, and they also would know when you went through a portal.

At least each test would take around the same amount of time.

That moment when Tyler was convinced that he was in the 'present' while all his surroundings were completely decayed and you could clearly hear birds and other animals sounds. And then that very slow moment of realization when tyler walked into the present and his brain was making fax machine noises lol. Very amusing Also that ending where he left us on a quite literal 'cliff' hanger was pretty amusing as well

he was convinced he was in "the past", which doesn't exist in this game - but i can understand where the confusion comes from, the *present* looks cleaner and more futuristic than the *future*, and it would make sense that they cleaned/renovated the place - although the actual case is that the future is overgrown and untouched, but that's somewhat unintuitive

Especially since the announcer says the facility can withstand centuries of decay even though after "20 years" it looks like its going to collapse.

I swear Tyler solves in seconds what takes me half an hour.

5:57 this level only works becaue the future version has deteriorated meaning that the people who built the place would have needed to predict that it would be broken in 20 years, but the dude said it was built to survive cneturies so they couldnt have known it would have broken down sooner.

This is one of the first video games where i have had to rewatch the clip a few times to understand what is happening. Im so confused right now

0:57 3-2-1 is 0 so it should have opened immediately

You just have to treat the time portal like a mirror you can walk through, you can change your reflection, but your reflection can't change you.

this is the first game that I have gotten a game on launch day

6:40 the problem with that test is how the ai said “this area was left untouched” or whatever earlier and the entire puzzle revolves around how the ramp broke from natural things

In 2073 a new portal gun 2 mod including multiple timelines with their own past, present and future counterparts and also different versions of yourself.

I love never having seen that platform in chamber 5 and just solving it by throwing the cube up.

This is turning out to be a really good way to explain the mentality of time travel.

I can't watch this yet cause I'm so looking forward to playing it!! But once I am done with my playthrough, it will be nice to watch back and see the different methods for the puzzles

Back in the day I played a mod very similar to this. There have been workshop maps that include this kind of time travel for years. I think the time travel portals were locked in place back then though.

I saw the start of your video, paused to do the puzzles myself first, then came back to see you do it all the intended way while I was cheesing every single puzzle, lol. I knew I did that last puzzle wrong when the AI told me that I could carry my momentum through the time portals. I was like, "umm, that's not how I finished this."

Can't wait for the next episode! This mechanic seems fun, hopefully the developers put a good amount of thought into it and the puzzles are going to not be repetitive.

I found out accedently that you can solve the test chamber at 13:35 without time jumping by just using momentum from one of the jumps and air straffing onto the door area, and it actually triggers a secret dialog as well

"you cannot moove a cube from the present to the future because it would violate the rules of cauzality and is therefore impossible" ... - cube desintegrates... - alienshock: so i wonder if i can move a cube from the future to the past

I can't wait to see the offshoots of what this creates. I'd be interested in seeing a variant with two time gates where you have past, present, and future. Or add another dimensional component, rather than time jumping, have an alternate timeline with a similar yet different room; for instance, say timeline 1 only has repulsion gel while timeline 2 has propulsion gel, and you have to work between the two to use both.

This reminds me of the Cowl of Nocturnal mod for Skyrim using a spell to go to the past to solve certain puzzles 👍

you can break this game by dispensing a cube with a button, and then trying to put that cube back in when the hatch is still open

canonically the announcer had to wait 20 years for the test subject in order to complete the tests properly, and remember exactly what they had to say to the subject in that specific place

When you gain momentum in the fourth dimension antecedently, to get somewhere you have no business being, all to solve a puzzle: 16:13

Surely you could keep sending the future cube to the past, and keep getting more, so long as you don’t change the past iterations of the cube

Actually, if the rules were completely respected ; if you move the present cube, it will not make the future cube disappear as long as you end up with the present cube in the same place where you found the future cube.

Same. I can even picture a time travel across three different points in time. Beware for mild Portal 2 spoilers: The past looks like the old underground chambers, the present looks modern, and the future looks deserted.

@@DevilSpider_ how would you go about going between past, present and future? Would you have 2 time and 2 space portals? Or, I could see a Co-Op series of maps, where P1 has a past/present time portal, and P2 has a present/future portal, or vice versa, so you have to work together to make it possible to access the three time periods in the right ways.

I mean it was 25 chambers but that is more than enough for such an amazing game. I completed it yesterday and I am probably going to play through it again

There are so many issues with putting time travel in a game and this game does it really well in terms of gameplay, but it's also just not logically correct. I think 5D chess is the only game that actually gets it technically right. Doesn't make this game any less cool though

Well said. The game would be pretty boring if you'd only be able to go to the future and not back. I'd argue that 5d chess is only realistic if you believe in multiverse, but if you stick to what has been theorized it doesn't really make sense to have multiple timelines
