Because Ethan is not making money out of presenting himself as some kind of self help guru when is pretty evident that Peterson is as flawed or even more so than the people that he is taking advantage of just to keep his grift going. I Feel like many would feel a lot more sympathetic to this guy's struggles if he stopped pretending like there's nothing wrong with him. Instead, he has chosen to point fingers and attack some of society's most marginalized groups. He's always been a kook, but after his meat diet and benzos trip, he became a vindictive, self aggrandizing asshole.

Why do you hate Peterson so much???? Where on doll did he hurt you? Did he make fun of your double chin? Peterson has been going though a lot especially digestive issues and was addicted to pain killers for awhile. I suffer from IBS issues, it sucks!!! It is painful. IBS can also cause severe depression, you’re never comfortable, you think about death a lot and other dark thoughts. I think the guy just needs to take a break. Laughing at another man’s pain is low.

I suffer from IBS too, man. I’m sorry that you have to go through that sort of pain and discomfort. It can make you feel truly hopeless. However, I think this segment was more about people parading and taking advantage of a man who is clearly struggling. Regardless of his deteriorating health, people still do take what he says at face value, even if he is not fully coherent. I hope he finds a more peaceful path in the future.

@@pcsheep3978 or the man's insane. that could also be the reason. you are being charitable to jordan peterson by sticking around and filling in the gaps for him to make something substantive out of "what does 'put' mean". i suspect you would not be so charitable to ibrahm x kendi when he says there is only racism and anti-racism; there is not non-racism. i used to be charitable to jordan peterson and unreceptive to ibrahm x kendi; now i'm charitable to ibrahm x kendi and unreceptive to jordan peterson. i dont expect to convince you but its become pretty clear to me that jordan peterson is a grifter now. saying inflammatory things about elliot page to get banned and then monetizing his getting banned to put his content behind a paywall at the daily wire, home of matt walsh, who defended harvey weinstein, made me reevaluate his other products, like the big 5 personality course. maybe when he originally made the "professor against political correctness" series, he wasn't doing it for the money, but after hearing him repeat word for word literal oil company lines and all of that shit, i am less than impressed. all of this is independent of his actual political positions - even if he genuinely objects to elliot page's transition, there are clearly more sensitive and respectful ways to do it. i of course dont align with him politically anymore, you probably do. all i can say to that is take your head out of the abstract picture that jordan paints and think about whether its feasible for his advice to be effective on a systemic level. not just for you individually, but for everyone (because isnt that the end goal of making a better world?). one poor African American kid from inner city chicago with shitty teachers, shitty prospects, and constant temptation of immediate money from less than savory means might be able to keep above all of that, get into a good school, and make a financially stable life out of it, but can 10 of them? can the whole graduating class? is there enough mid-high end jobs for everyone to get one? and if no one wants a low end job and everyone is qualified for a mid-high end job, who cleans the toilets at arby's, who cleans the streets of trash? does jordan's solution to society actually work long term?

We were 220 guys in our Guard Unit, there were 2 people who were unstable, they got transferred. I used to work in retail 95% were women, 3 of the 30 people were unstable. All of them were female. The amount of unstable women are much higher but it is not their fault, their bodies are different build. They are more stressed due to menstruation and they have a clock ticking, a man can make kids at any age but with female after 50 s it is literally over.

Couple things, One I love H3. However, Ethan you struggle with subjecting yourself to the same criticism you scrutinize others with. When it comes to parading someone around who is unwell, the entire Trisha fiasco has you well on top. You knew from day one she’d not mentally well. Secondly, why is it funny to laugh when men cry? I’ve listened to that entire podcast on a road trip. What Jordan said makes total sense when not cut and sliced into tidbits. Do you suppose you’d might tear up when the subject you’re speaking on reminds you of a very dark place in your life? Perhaps. Maybe you’re unafraid to let it flow. Maybe you know you can let the sadness reach tears and then move on. Maybe you stifle it and cry at night. Maybe you restrain it until you have a breakdown later. Very clearly speaking to the absolutely insane drop in his life and thinking of those who helped him get out of it. It’s seriously disgusting yo see men get clowned on for fucking having emotions like a normal god damn human.

Hateful is quite subjective, while also how someone feels as a result from speech is also heavily subjective. I don’t feel bad for people who can’t handle criticism or ideas they disagree with. We’re adults. Where I tend to chime in is when hypocrisy and outright logical fallacies are glaring. Here, Ethan laughs as the concept of a grown man crying, judges those who have Jordan on because he’s mentally unwell, referring to it as a grift… despite his benefiting heavily from Trisha. He lastly suggests things Jordan said didn’t make sense, because he decided to chop them up and make fun of them in chunks instead of the long winded nature they usually flow in order to be sensible. Do you suppose the times in your life when you’ve felt emotionally or physically pained to be more potent than when you were relatively fine? I do. Times of normative value are relatively blurred together as are those of extreme joy, they’re highlights but blend with other joyous moments. The painful times stick out easily. The first time I was ever stung. My first break up. My first car accident. My first fight. My first argument. Several painful things. They are more memorable.

and with the environment argument he is not in denial of the climate change he never said that no one do, even that most religious right activists, the issue is about what are the solutions ? to the left they think they should shutdown coal mines they should force people to use electrical cars and reduce the use of fertilizers ? to me and many others like Jordan we just wonder what is the point of shutting down coal mines while china is stepping in and replacing the void the western countries leaving are we really saving the environment by shutting down coal mines? or are they simply making them self poorer ? what are the effects of cutting down fertilizers and restricting the farmers work ? is it going to save the environment or will make the west not self dependent when it comes to food ? this is what Jordan talking about he is arguing the solutions presented and applied around the west by the left he is asking simple questions? are they effective at saving the environment ? and at what cost ? if you just listen to the man for moment and stop interrupting him ever half second just to make fun of the way he speak you might find interesting points in what he say

My sister is a psychologist and one of her colleagues conducted research into it, and found it has higher efficacy than SSRI's and no discontinuation syndrome. Jord is right - the serotonin imbalance theory of depression has been debunked :/

Also I just love the irony of these 2 goofballs who between don’t have a tenth of Dr. Peterson’s education, wisdom, compassion, intelligence, and decency, sitting around criticizing a man who is emotional, presumably because the pain he’s referencing was his wife and daughters intense illness which nearly killed his wife and made his daughter’s life hell of years. The conversation with Lex was fantastic and mostly pretty serious but optimistic. They’re just straight up lying when they say that the entire podcast was Jordan staring off in the distance and crying. That’s not remotely true. He’s a deep person and a deep thinker, so he does think carefully before responding to questions. That’s something these two guys probably can’t even imagine doing 😂😂

Based on what I have observed, his stance was on compelled speech and he didn't have reservations on using pronouns if it was his choice unless the person in question was being unreasonable. He isn’t well. Pain is the fundamental reality? He has been reading through The penguin edition of Schopenhauer’s essays and aphorisms.

My standing theory is that the opioids has caused some kind of brain damage resulting in loss of impulse control. I don't know if Peterson was always a nutcase but if he was he used to be able to reign it in.

This is really scraping at the bottom of the barrel for Ethan. Peterson went through hell for the last couple of years over his barbichuate withdrawal from the depression induced by his wife's cancer diagnosis. It's a shame Ethan got famous for his anti-PC, anti-woke, provocative content, and now he's joinned them.
