This is 100% what's holding me back from buying a GTI or Golf R 😬. I worry about the wheels, tires and suspension with how crappy roads have gotten.

From London, just hit a speed bump and now I see wheel damage and have to replace the tyre. I feel the pain!

Driving my mk7.5 with 3 bent wheels driving in Nassau county. N.Y. blows.

Irony: I bought two additional sets of Nogaros back when no one wanted them. My thought was that I'd eventually bend one or two of my factory wheels. BUT my original wheels are fine after 200,000 miles. Still, I won't sell the extras because Murphy is waiting! 🤣

@@LucasHuang - It's possible, but that's not why I bought them. I bought them as spares while I knew the getting was good. Of course, I'll be happy to make a few bucks back if I can sell them for more than I paid. Otherwise, I may continue using them on future VWs so that I have what may be unique wheels someday.

I just ran over a 4x4 at 70mph with Mt jetta. Popped a tire, wheel is OK.

It’s funny same thing happened to me on my gti. I bent my rim and bought a new one from ecs and the tires. Almost 1800 with all 4 tires

do you get pops and bangs if your do stage 2 dsg cobb flash tune ?

i traded in my gti for a 5.0 stang last month. Wish i would have done it sooner!

I had my fair share of damaged sidewalls, that's the price you pay to look cool, maybe your next car should have 16" rims with 205/55 😂

Ideally it would be a GR Corolla but I can’t see them widely available for another 2 years. It looks like it’s coming down between a GR86 or WRX

@@LucasHuang I was just looking at a GR Corolla base they want 42k for it and they only offered 9k for my 2016 GTI with 64k miles 🥲 I’m in the same kinda boat thought waiting another year or two I will get a GR for like 20-30k I’m hoping
