I found that really funny, they were like. "ah, yeah. Lets nerf steel type, it doesn't resist dark and ghost now. I’d always use a fire blast on it or thunderbolt over and over. I ended up catching a spritomb myself and used it last playthrough by using two Nintendo ds and talking to myself 30 times.

A fun fact that I love is that in Gen 5 on the battle subway on the line where you fight both Emmet and Ingo, sometimes both Ingo's Moldbreaker Haxorus and Emmet's Levitate Eelektross will be on the field at the same time and Ingo's Haxorus knows Earthquake and if it sees the kill, it's absolutely going for it despite it's partner no longer being immune 💀 meaning Ingo can just turbo nuke his brothers pokemon

Burn up pure fire being literally no weakness, where electric levitate has a "covered" weakness. Both counterable, (burn up more counterable than levitate) but one more literally without weaknesses than the other.

​​@@dtcuniversal6689 Thunder Punch with STAB hits with 112'5BP, way better than using Crush Claw lmao. And who the hells runs Rock Slide instead of Aqua Tail for resistances. With Aqua Tail you slam Ground types that resist your Stab. Drain Punch at least, allows you to recover HP and is good against Steel types that resist Electric, like Magneton/zone, Excadrill, Steelix... or to at least add some coverage against the Rotom Forms, with 2 of them also resisting Aqua Tail. But using Crush Claw and Rock Slide on Eeleektross is simply being bad

Or in those generations, things like moody+minimize/acupressure Giratina, where Foresight also nullifies the evasion boosts. Foresight isn't bad by any means, it just costs a valuable turn: hence, why Foresight in ability form is such a powerful tool for freddy fazbear

The ability is technically what blocks its only weakness. A. Mold breaker bypasses abilities that protect the target from damage. Levitate is one, but so are type protection abilities like water absorb, sap sipper and flash fire are also examples. B. Sunsteel strike and moongeist beam has the same effect as Mold breaker, but as a move. The gmax moves of the Galar starter also has the same effect. C. The move gastro acid also neutralizes abilities whole.

As an Eelektross enjoyer I was hyped Ty for bringing more spotlight to my long goofy friend

I believe Arcanine can use Burn Up to temporarily lose its fire typing for a couple of turns, leaving it with no type and thus no weakness

​@@Ethan_Anemoiapolispsychic was immune to ghost in gen 1, and even if it wasn't the only ghost move is lick which is laughably weak. Speaking of laughably weak, gen 1 bug movies. While technically bug is super effective to psychic, the moves are so weak it doesn't even matter. So pretty much yeah, psychic types have no weaknesses in gen 1

I love Elektross. Coil is a great move and you can also teach it power-up punch!

Eelectross has always been a big favorite of mine, for many reasons, but the first of those reasons was definitely the combo of his typing and ability.

There’s an NPC in BW2 that you battle once or twice that uses an Electross and goes over a few ways to deal super effective damage to it (Smack Down and Gravity are two moves you can use against it to make its ground weakness true)

This is why eelectross is one of my favorite pokemon. Most people who dont already know about it are not expecting a pure electric type to be immune to ground type moves and it has caught so many people off guard.

Yes, which is why I had one on my team in Gen 5. Also, Mold Breaker goes “BRRRRR” until I started outspeeding Haxorus lol

The funny thing is that 1000 arrows works the same way. Its a ground type move (only learned by Zygarde and Smeargle) and it ignores the flying type (and levitate and air balloon)

Well yes they technically don’t have a weakness since they are immune to ground attacks. The only way they can be hit super effectively is if the opponent has mold breaker or thousand arrows is used but that’s based on the opposing Pokémon and what they have so u still have no weaknesses yourself. Wether they have ways to surpass u having no weaknesses is a different story.

Showing Haxorus with Mold Breaker just reminded me of the series of drawings that came out in the submas fandom upon people realizing that Ingo just completely fucks Eelektross over the second he throws Haxorus onto the field and uses Earthquake. RIP to Emmet.

Don't forget Smack Down and Gravity. Both target Flying types and Pokémon with Levitate.
