This video discusses the prospects of the 2022 Classic Tetris World Championship. The tournament format spawned from the 1990 Classic Tetris World Championship, and has since gone on to form a reputation of it's own. The "Boom Tetris for Jeff" meme videos caused a new generation to swarm the scene, starting with Joseph Saelee and the hypertapping playstyle in 2018. Now, with the new technique of rolling invented by Cheez, players are able to go head to head past the killscreen, attempting to best their opponent in terms of points and levels.

Hydrantdude barely scratched the killscreen compared to the guys today, so one game with 1.6 mil doesn't really show the same capability on playing on the killscreen. also i think there is more time untill the event starts then there was when hydrant got the wr. so more time to practice. but ok, maybe i'm just too hyped for eric ;) I guess, you can go statistically and say, than the top 8 elo players will be in the top 8, but where's the fun in that :)

Every month I watch CTM, a new player seems to be peaking. I feel like the winner of CTWC will be the player who just happens to be peaking around the time of that tournament. And I don't believe that the winner will be a player who just tries to outlast their opponents in 29+. That will win some games, but I predict that the champion will successfully combine 29 survival with a good amount of aggression and Tetris scoring.
