This Pizza Food Truck Made $20,000 in First Month (How to Start a Business)
Have you ever wanted to own a food truck? We got a behind the scenes look on PizzaMi which started just a month ago. They mentioned for their very first event they were thinking about canceling but they powered through to a $20,000 sales month. Great lessons, great people and most importantly great pizza! I really liked this interview. These two deserve EVERY win they get out of this, checking off all boxes, no excuses, determined, putting the work in. The best part? "We had help from others to get to this point...and we appreciate it" I don't hear that a lot from small biz entrepreneurs these days. They wake up daily with a rinkydink hustle like they're Tony Montana kingpins, saying ridiculous phrases like "I got it out the mud 🤡"...and wonder why those that did lend a hand are offended to the point of cutting them off and blackball whispering later. I started out as one over 25yrs ago and the one thing that kept me in the network to the point where I can now be a pillar to others coming in is RESPECT for those who aided and assisted where they really didn't have to bother. Next step is reciprocation as the level goes up and I have no doubt they've already put some if not all of the equity back. One of the best vids I've seen so far in 2023.

Do they have to pay for conducting business at the location where they park? Are they required by law to pay the landowner or event organizer? Or, because it's just a car, do they not have to share their profits with big event organizers, parks, government, companies, or private landowners, or seek permission to park in a particular location?
Pizza needs better crust color/browning. It could be one or a few things things...But from the video it seems the bake time is too short. If anyone else is attempting something similar, an Ooni or a Gozney oven will be much less expensive and you can use multiple ovens at a fraction of the cost.

Great interview guys, love the truck and pizza looks great. One thing I would like to see, my fireman hat on, is to move the fire extinguisher closer to the exit of the truck. Right now it's near the most likely fire source which means it would be risky to reach for it in the event of a fire.

Hello from Wayne county! Good luck with your pizza truck! My friend and I are starting one in Milano Italy this coming January
Sell $5 cheese and pepperoni (no other topping by the slice) pizza by the slice like in NYC, they sell like crazy. That turns your $15 pizza into a $20 pizza (4 slices x $5 = $20) You need to double your cold storage for dough. No joke. Dough is cheap and high profit margin, don't run out at events.

Just roll the dice! your hard work will pay off!!!
I love this , definitely a dream that i am walkign towards achieving. One side note though, ive been workin with pizza for a very long time and i noticed almost every pie in this video was undercooked.. it seems like you are using a high hidration dough for Napolitan style pizza. Try leaving it in for 2 more minutes or lower the hidration % and check dough temps to prevent from over poofing.. You have a kick ass oven , the dough shouldn't be coming out under cooked. Ultimately if you're positive that it is fully cooked and its still colourless you can add diastatic malt powder to brown the dough , which is what most bakeries use.
If pizzami sees this theres also a very lucrative way to make money regarding your business and Ive mentioned this to other food trucks but theyd rather grind selling food. I'll give you a quick hint, if you document every part of your business you can actually package and sell "how to start your own pizza truck for $25k". Ive sold $300k in digital education for start ups and its very fun to sell something you recorded once 1000 times for $100.

You're telling me that if you could make 100k a month tutoring other people who want to start a little business from scratch in your local area, you're gonna say hell no. Definitely NOT! It's double dipping on business. It's even as easy as just setting up an iphone in the truck making a KZread channel, like all the other small businesses, making KZread money. I sold radio advertising for years in GR. The local radio stations have so many remotes and events year round. You should reach out to them. We would do things like "Jock in a Box" where DJ's would live in a storage container while collecting for a food drive in celebration cinema or meijer parking lot. You guys could set up, provide food for the DJ's in trade for mentions during the event. Just a thought. Good job though guys!

As a person who came verrrrry close to getting my own food trailer, I applaud these 2 and wish them the best! That being said...I have done extensive research and I am still studying about the mobile food industry but I have to say that I see A LOT of red flags here! 1st and as others have mentioned, those pies need to be cooked more. 2nd. No offense intended but that logo (which likely had a lot of thought put into it) is just terrible and disadvantageous to selling pizza. Time, creativity and most importantly, capital. The reason so many ppl fail to ever start their own business is because of startup costs. They have to charge $17 to make any money. I don't believe they are making $20,000 a month. They only have one oven, one warmer, and 7 pizza racks. At max, they can make 6 pizzas an hour or 60 for 10 hour day. Most likely they are only selling half of that or 30 pizza and making $410 a day on a good day. If they sold for less, it wouldn't be worth the time. However, at $17 for a small pizza, you are going to have a hard time finding customers. You will be out driving all the high end office buildings where most of this type of customer will be found. With a low customer base and all the driving, they probably sell only 20 pizzas a day. So $340/day x 20 days = $6800/month The supplies are likely $1000/month. The van depreciation is $1000/month and Equipment about $500/month and taxes another $800/month. They are probably bringing in around $3000/month or $360000/year. Which is like $45,000 gross for a normal job. And that is between 2 people working that full time.
