Nice video, but I will add more differences for the movement that are easily seen in this watch and also in most other fake watches- The point of attachment and the regulation. The Real Patek uses a fixed point of attachment and its regulation is based on tiny screws around the balance wheel, while the fakes, the point of attachment is also fixed, but the regulation is done by controlling the length of the air spring. You can see that very clearly at 8:19 of this video. You just spot that, and you know it is a fake 10000% positive. Thanks for your video!!!!

I honestly believe if you paid them, and gave them more time and proper nurture to hone a craft, they have the manufacturing capacity and production capabilities to embarrass the world. It's not odd they're basically the main cog that allows the world to function. The sad part is, they're in the same rut the Japanese were back in the day (where they were ridiculed as having some of the shoddiest products). With geo politics shifting constantly, and them making chest pumping gestures quite often these days, they look like they're moving into industries no one remotely cared to consider them for. Isolationist dictatorship is not possible anymore with the amount of trade they conduct.. they're moving up and quick.

There are some Chinese watch brands with a history. They could do remakes of watches as watches way back then were for the privileged. But nowadays most people would rather get a smart watch over a traditional watch especially when they are far cheaper in China.

I'm not for clones but this just shows how much someone is willing to pay, not for the watch, but for it to be a status symbol.

I was interested in getting a fake Rolex submariner when I graduate but I would rather spend 15k on a real one for appreciation and resale sakes. When it comes to high end real watches I would personally treat them as investments as well as being able to enjoy the “real” thing.

Wow how eye opening... Obviously if you dismantle a watch and melt everything down, the sum of it's parts will be less valuable than the assembled piece of art... Not one single person seriously in the market for a Patek is even a little bit concerned about price vs. function lmao. It's a bit like asking if a DaVinci is actually worth more than the paint and canvas it's made from. The answer is obviously yes. It's worth what people will pay for it.

@@jswanza lol You have no idea what my net worth is or what I'd be in the market for. Maybe I'm taking that wrong way. But, I'd be more interested in something that rarer.

These replicas are getting too close for comfort. As a watchmaker l have found only one simple way to spot a fake Patek or Rolex. Ok you need to open the watch.... so maybe its not so simple. The balance wheel is regulated by small weights on the balance wheel. It's called a free sprung balance wheel and is very difficult to make and adjust. Most balance wheels are simply adjusted by changing the length of the spring using an extra arm that pinches the spring. All fakes use this method!! I know that sounds complicated but a two minute search with photos will give you all the Information you need and you will be able to spot a fake easily. It's not difficult. If the fakers learn to copy this too then lm giving up and going to sell straw hats and coconuts on a beach somewhere.

@@djordje4304 This type of balance regulating ineeds very high quality and specialist manufacturing plus it needs to be adjusted by hand by a watch maker which takes time, say minimum 30 minutes per watch. There is a reason why these watches are expensive. Simply put it would at best double the price and half their production. Most people buying fakes don't even know or care. Which thankfully for now makes it easy to spot them. If everyone here has looked up what l pointed out then you will never have to worry about buying a fake for now...

However currently the beat rate is a bit higher then what Omegas run at 28,800 bph vs Omegas 25,600 or whatever they run at

@@jackson7962 thanks for your comment, l have looked at pictures of their movement and even though they look almost identical they still have the extra regulating arm. They do not have a free balanced movement.. When you know what to look for it's so easy to spot the fake. It's as obvious as spelling Roleks. Please take a few minutes to search, observe and learn. Afterwards you too will be just as qualified to spot a fake

Not really. If you see the amount of work and the quality of the materials that go into a real luxury watch, you'll understand why the best watches are also ridiculously expensive. A fake watch maker doesn't have to spend anything on design and R&Dfor example.

If Patek sells a watch for 100k it doesn't mean they invested almost 100k in materials and finishing. It just means someone is willing to pay it.

Brand name matters a lot. But the biggest thing the fakes cannot replicate is heritage and servicibility. You buy a Patek for yourself, your child and even your grandchildren. Patek promises (and keeps its promise) to provide servicing for your timepiece indefinitely. No replica can do that.

I always thought that these replica watches are made by actual manufacturers for legitimate watch companies that do this to showcase their abilities for future clients. Because it would take a good degree of investment in workmanship, expensive machinery and tools to manufacture something like this.

Never really looked at these watches before but spotted the fake within 10 seconds of comparing

If you are buying a watch just because you like the looks, there is no reason to pay 59.500$ more.

If anything good comes from the pandemic it’s how the Basel world and luxury watch game needs to adjust and rethink how they do business and stop passing off the costs of marketing and advertising to the watch enthusiasts.

The great thing about these types of watches in our day and age, is that you can always be wearing a tshirt, jeans, adidas and a patek phillipe, and if someone asks about it, you just say I made a ton of money on crypto.

This is a PPF V3 or V2 replica it's newer version have improved, though there are better models that offer clone movement. You can combine that with some after market authentic parts and certain touch ups, to get an identical replica.

Was looking to buy a replica for a long time and tried every supplier, they are the only legit mega-clone dealer. What you see is what you get.

I know a guy who purchased multiple super fakes of his favorite watches so he can wear them around 24/7 without worrying about them getting stolen or damaged. He keeps the real ones in a safe back at home, so they don't collect wear and tear. He goes to a lot of parties and fundraisers and hasn't ever had a single person ask him if his watch was fake or imply that it might be fake. And he told me that he got the idea from a friend of his who was a watch collector who did the same exact thing. And if you're ultimate goal is to pass the watch off as authentic to a perspective buyer you can even pay extra and get them to use a real cloned serial #, invoice & paperwork showing the watch was privately sold to you from the original owner that the watch was officially sold too and is probably still in possession of the real one. With this type of provenance rarely will a watch maker even open the watch unless they're a red flag like the weight being off or the material being the wrong type which both are taken care of with super fakes now. Heck, even the CNC machines they use to make the watch parts can produce a surface finish that is similar to a human manually lapping the parts and even leave patterns that look like the part was hand finished. Also, this isn't just happening with watches. This is also happening with designer clothing, bags, jewelry, shoes, etc. You name it and super fakes are being manufacture right that rival the real thing for quality of materials and construction. This has also been a huge problem for electronics lately. People have been selling Air pods Max super clones on Facebook for $300 that they buy for $150 that look, feel and weigh the same as real air pods max and even have interchangeable magnetic ear pads, proper markings and even register with the device as a proper air pods max but the sound quality isn't quite as good (it's good enough to fool anyone that hasn't listened to a real pair though). I even had a friend who picked up a pair for $300 and I told them they were probably fake when they said they got them from Facebook. The giveaway ended up being how the band adjusted and how it wasn't smooth as the real thing. But the packaging was perfect and it was shrink-wrapped when they purchased it. They fakes are so good now that even the Apple Store checks every single headset being returned to make sure the serial # on it matches a sale to the same person in their database and it matches between the packaging and the headset because they have been burned since even their employees can't tell them apart without pairing them and doing A-B testing. Future is going to get weird folks. Come hang out on my live stream sometime and we can talk about it.

Basically you need a real one to compare to the fake one and actually be able to hold it and have a real close look at it… also you need to even know what the real one is supposed to look like… this is so scary yet impressive…

Hello, the only thing that comes out of this is that there are very few differences between the two watches, which are almost identical, this only means that the original watch was also made cheaply, it is more expensive because of the brand, but maybe it is put together in a closer place than the cheaper one but, in fact, both watches are beautiful and, quite simply, the question is whether you are more expensive or should you buy your watch cheaper.

First thing I noticed is that the clones band isn't flush with the edge of the case there is a different in size from the first link to the case. On the genuine watch it is a smooth transition from strap to case.

The replica guys in China thank you for pointing out the flaws that they need to fix for their next release. The real sad part is that you pay $60k for a "real" and you know it cost probably $1000 at best to make.

Fact is, just like anything, you're buying the hype and the name for the most part. Do you really think it costs $60K to make a patek? unless its laden with diamonds or a Richard Mille that costs $400k?

@@optimusprime1634 Of course it doesn't cost $60K to build as then the company would make no profit selling them. But an average Patek watchmaker makes about $100k/year with benefits and makes about 100 watches. So that's ~$10k watch for the manufacturing work. And I don't actually think a watchmaker can make 100 of these $60k model per year because of their complexities. Then of course they need to pay for sales, marketing, logistics, materials, real estate, and research and development of new stuff Patek is a high margin business but also high cost. In China however the "watchmaker" probably gets paid a few hundred bucks per month and the watch making is mostly automated and they spend $0 for development. So $60k for a watch is a crazy price but it really costs Patek more than $10k on average to make that watch. The company gross profit margin is somewhere around 40-50%... the same as Apple.
