This OTF Will CUT | Benchmade Shootout Sharpening
Ойын-сауық
This Benchmade Shootout is coming through my hands for a little while from the Apex Passaround Group. I really did not expect to like ti much, but it's actually a very unique OTF with very thin stock and a very thin ring.

That BM looks like one of the best edc otf's I've seen. Also like the sharpening videos

I would 100% agree with you on that Glad you enjoyed! This one was really fun to sharpen
love more useable proportioned otfs without the useless spear point shape

Ah very interesting thanks for the info
Such great blade geometry. Not the thinnest bte, but a perfect balance of toughness and cutting ability.

It really is. Under 0.020 bte and a thin stock make this the sliciest otf I've ever seen
Bro I hope to get to your skill level one day. I haven’t had time to really get serious about freehand sharpening. Seems like it’s a faster process. Being a machinist I hate when angles change so I have almost exclusively used fixed angle systems. Honestly I still need more practice with them as well but I can at least put a mediocre edge on my own stuff. Really appreciate you making videos showing techniques 😎🤘🤘

Thanks for the kind words 🙏 It takes practice, but with a little decent technique it's really not as hard as many think, especially if your goal is just a sharp edge. It's definitely a lot faster and more efficient than systems
Very nice more of these sharpening Videos

Thanks for this I feel more confident sharping my Shootout now...........Subbed Do you have links to those stones, leather and other things you used in this video?

I do not unfortunately. For the stones, you can find them on gritomatic or ebay (the Hapstone store is cheap, but you have to wait a long time). For stropping, just any basic block strop is fine. Thanks for watching 🙏
Really like watching your sharpening video, I hand sharpen my knives with stones. What is your opening on something like a worksharp sharpener? I was thinking about getting one but I don’t want to destroy my blades.

Your opinion on the worksharp sharpener

Do you mean like a powered, belt grinder type system, or the precision adjust? As long as you go slow and carefully with the powered system, you'll do okay. I still much prefer manual sharpening, with freehand being my preferred method; I prefer freehand because it offers the most flexibility and speed. The precision adjust that WS makes is probably the best budget system you can get if you want to go that route Thank you for watching and very glad you enjoy my videos 🙏
That noise bothers me so much 🤦♂️🤦♂️
