Once again, you've read my mind. I kind of jumped into buying some gear, without watching more videos, and without thinking about what would be best for me. I ended up paying thirty dollars for an ultra light cook set, with a "pot" and "frying pan", and they're pretty much the same exact things. The cutlery set was actually more worth the money, but now I know lol. Thanks for another great review, you really do find some of the coolest gear and it's appreciated! Stay safe out there and God bless!

I’ve had mine for a couple years & use it quite often. No problem’s with it. A Nalgene canteen fits pretty good, its a bit snug towards the top but the canteen is tapered & the pot have fairly straight sides.

My Walmart has Great Value brand chicken in the same packages as yours shown. Most varieties are shredded but two of them are 1/4 in. cubes. These are great as I add them to my Raman cups. I have moved to the cups for smaller portion, less sodium and no additional cup to wash. Just shake the chicken cubes on top of the noodles and pour the hot water over it. Fits nicely. The cups are also nice for emergencies/power outages if no hot water for cleaning dishes.

Hi. This kit is perfekt, i pimped it with a self made rubber take off seal for the lid and a strap, so it can be used as closed Container. This good if you get open foods on the run... this idea from the army times when we stayed in the postion and one got the food for all from the field kitchen.

That's a very interesting modern take on my much loved Russian VDV canteen kit. The biggest issue with the Russian is the lack of a dedicated lid but that isn't an issue that can't be fixed simple enough.

slight update to my previous comment the Keith/Heavy Cover/iBasingo 1100ml titanium canteen will go in the large cup in this set but it will not fit the cenral seam on the canteen ends up about an inch above the rim of the cup acceptable to some people but....it means you need a pouch with at least an extra inch in height canteen pouches are a tight enough fit as is, the cup lid, handle raise it to vertical and gently push it sideways unless it gets a knock it should stay upright (in theory)

I purchased one of these hoping it would fit under my Keith titanium canteen, unfortunately it's GI sizes, 1 US quart/950ml sized canteen and the Kieth is 1100ml so just a tad too big but....a Nalgene Triton canteen fits beautifully

I like it. I only see one problem with it however. You and I both know someone will grab that cable after it's been hanging over the fire holding the pot and just burn the dawg outta themselves. That wire will heat up just as fast as the pot will. Maybe they should also tap standard measurements into it as well as metric. Unless that pot has an easy to scar finish that is. Would like to see a follow up review on it as well. After a few dozen uses has it held it's finish and all.

I've had the worst luck with titanium. I seem to burn everything! It's a little high maintenance for me since you need to constantly stir it. But I'm a big guy and can hump in a little heavier kit. Beautiful little kit though. Wish I was a better camp chef. :-)

I wish they made this with a solid wire bail handle and without the massive lip where the top is folded over for strength, a rolled edge wouldn't build up as much soot etc and the thin cable bail just seems more of a gimmick when compared to a traditional bail.

Nice overview video. I can understand the coolness factor which is very high, but for practicality, a Sea to Summit Alpha set or a Stanley cook set is more practical because these have higher volume pots and also can be compact to carry in a pack or store. Not to mention they are both lower in cost. Unless you're really pressed for space, I think there are other value alternatives. I'll have to check out those Starkist food packs.

I don't know if it is called the same thing where you live, but in Australia methylated spirits is very common and inexpensive. This sounds crazy, but dilute it a little, 8 or 10% water, and it will not soot your gear much if at all.

@@manateeak Mate I am sure it is about over there, it is a fairly widely used household and DIY chemical. You likely already have it in your home or workshop. I just don't know what it is called over there. What a strange conundrum, eh? Maybe try the alcohol you have been using, diluted as suggested above. Maybe it is the same stuff.
